Evening all! Not much going on tonight, my son just finished changing my oil and later this week two new tires. Between him and my two daughters I think I have it pretty good!

To here you guys mention about tin plated cars, and they are nice, I feel the same way about pre 1930 tin lithograph cars. If I see one in good shape it's hard to resist. Marx kept making them into the 1950's, and although they may seem a little toyish, they are still collectable.

Brent - A lifetime of happiness for you nad your wife! It's the hardest job in the world, raing a child, but the most rewarding!

Dennis - My two daughters at ages of 30 and 28 still say "I Love You Daddy, Good Night". I am very fortunate!

JoeD - Wed night in da Bronx! Looks like we'll be seeing CC pitch.

Chuck - Don't give up! Angel Prayers for you and your family.

Good night all!

Ray

A really nice day in the 70s with a breeze and windows open.

Brent the baby's growing already, cherish every minute and don't trust today's electronics, put those pictures in print. No big news today, I did some things, I did some nothings. Got plenty of banilla for tonight's trip...S.J.

Quick Post....dinner is almost ready...and the Princess is cooking!

Angel for Chuck & Paula....Get Well soonest!

Like Brent and the Q, I am also enjoying fatherhood..... college is coming around, and I just got the first semester bill... I was a little, um, shocked, but I was OK with it.  She is fun to be around and enjoying our time immensely.  She sees her aunt and uncle a lot, especially since they are so close.   She walks the mile to their house, no problem.  She also enjoyed the 9/11 Memorial Run and met practically the whole fire dept.  Our Chief even asked her to join....and she is considering it.

Was a good weekend, we saw Fright Night yesterday and it was a good vampire picture, not bad.

OK will check back when I can, Hang in there, Blueberry!!

Angel for our intentions !!!

Good evening everyone.  Thanks for the update on Chuck.  Will remember Paula in my prayers as well, I am sure she is exhausted with all this.  No matter the outcome, she will have her hands full for some time.

Joe, Hope your transition is smooth.  You going to be by Montgomery?  My MIL lives there.  With regard to any tinplate purchases, if I were in your shoes, I would hold off and see what I can pick up over in Japan with some of their old Post War items.  They would add a novel touch to your inventory....something to remember your travels with.

Brent, isn't fatherhood great?  My daughter just came over and gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek and said "I Love You Daddy, Good Night"....makes it all worth it.  I am sure Doug M., will back me up on this...you may want more before long.

Well, I have to get to bed as we have a very early bible study and then work.  Hope everyone has a blessed night.
God Bless,
Dennis

Christina would like to thank her CTT Grandpas and Uncles for the lovely 'It's a Girl!' boxcar. If I could get her to sit still for more than 2 seconds I would take a picture of her with it and post it! The GCs will come in handy buying diapers for Ms Poops-a-lot. Big Smile We have gone through over 100 diapers in a week! At this rate the reusable diapers sure are looking like a wise investment!

BTW - when it arrived today I received a call from The Q 'Can you explain to me what this Lionel box is doing on the front porch?' Surprise "No. But I have a feeling it is something from the CTT guys." 'What did you buy now?' "Nothing! Just open it and find out." 'OK. I will when my friend leaves.'  About an hour later 'The guys sent her a really cute boxcar! It says "It's a Girl" on it.' Big Smile "OH! They probably got it for her because I mentioned that I want to get the Lionel Girls Train for her." 'OH JEEZUS! She doesn't need that RIGHT now!' hehehehehe

Good evening all,

This is my last week of work here at Vance AFB.  After Friday, I am on leave for about 10 days and then I will be in Alabama (Yank invasion) for six weeks to attend Professional Military Education.  When that is over the family and I fly out to Japan.  I just found out all of our stuff going to Japan weighed 10,300 pounds; it filled 12 large crates.  We also placed about 1,400 pounds into storage.  I packaged all the train items into their original boxes if I had them.  Only some of the buildings are going to Japan, the rest are in storage.  All of the trains are going.  I was able to give the layout platform for a friend from church.  I bought an HO starter set for him to set up for his kids.  He is a fine man: he and his wife have two grown kids of their own but have since adopted five.  He doesn't earn a great deal of money, but he is faithful to the Lord and provides a great home for those kids.  Giving him the layout platform and buying the set was the least I could do.

JackAF Ray and I are not worried at all.  The Yankees are playing pretty decent right now and are getting healthier.

Jim SP – I have been eyeing up some nice Tinplate offerings, but due to the upcoming move I have been hesitant to pull the trigger.  I don’t have any Tinplate items right now, but recently they have become very appealing to me.

I'll keep praying for Chuck and his family.

Joe

Buckeye, thanks for the update on Chuck.  Add my prayers to the restAngel

Got a phone call from a long lost widow of my late best friend who I came out West with in 1958.  It's funny how we all go our separate ways over the years.  It was difficult to communicate with her since she is 180 degrees away from my thoughts on religion, politics, current events, whatever.  The problem I had was not wanting to talk about the same subject for an hour on the phone.  I finally had to excuse myself after I got burned out.  I wish her well and send my prayers but we just aren't on the same page anymore.

V8, enjoy your trip

Finished off the last of my prednisone medicine yesterday.  Today I'm on my own so far.  Can't take Aleve just yet because I'm on another med today that might conflict so only thing left is Tylenol if needed for rest of today.  I'm getting tired of juggling medicine.

later,

Ray

Yes, as Laz stated there has been no change in Chuck's condition as of last night when I talked with his wife Paula.  He is highly sedated.  Paula is exhausted.  She spends 4-5 hours with Chuck in ICU everyday.

Aloha. Beautiful day for another long walk up to the Apple store to pick up a fixed laptop. Any ideas what this could be - my brother bought it. It's big and appears to look almost like felt mounted on a matte background. It is framed.

picked up the missing piece of track on Saturday and started realigning the bridges... this really sucks! Each abutement has to be rebuilt from scratch because they can't be reused (can't just turn the bridges 180 degrees because the track doesn't align properly). A minor pain the grand scheme of things, just frustrating that I didn't think to have the bridges aligned this way to begin with. Bang Head

I am back to work today (well was back last Wednesday), this is the first full day of the first full week back.

Good morning

57 this morning, a sad sign of things to come. 8 nice looking set, I like that Lionel is doing the old sets for us. Of course there's a forum that loves to tell us about every little thing that's not the same. Actually the new ones are better in most ways. Fried egg w/sausage patti for breakfast...S.J.

Morning.  Bright and beautiful day. Paradise Fresh after the Lord washed everything.  Out to run a few errands and then hit the road for lake house.  Rained some there too.  Will check pond.  Bet it filled.  Got to drop of a big fat opposum that has been hiding in the garage behind Wifey's junk.  No more free loading cat food.  Have a great week.

Prayers for Chuck.

Sunny and humid this weekend.

Cleaned up storm damaged branched yesterday.  Got them out on the curb for the city to pick up.  My wife and I asw Cowboys & Aliens today.  Fun movie.  Plucked the habinaero peppers yesterday - they are in the dehydrator.

Picked my Sante Fe Conventional Classic up at the LHS Saturday.  Pulmore motor, good horn, magnetraction, and electronic e-unit.  Really miss the buzz of the old electromechanical e-units though - quiet just dosen't seem quite right.  Here is a picture:

Hello all,

......I got to see the B-17 from the Collings Foundation flying nearby today. Very awe inspiring. Check them out here   www.collingsfoundation.org/menu Their Wings Of Freedom tour is at the Altoona / Blair County airport till Monday

Banks........the Collings Foundation tour visits my home town in September with the B17 Flying Fortress, the B24 Liberator, and the P51 Mustang.  My town airport is about 5 miles West of me and the planes fly right over my house at low altitude!!!!!  Hope to be taking the family to see the planes up close and personal, as we have done in the past.  A sight (and sounds) to see.  You can take a ride in them too.

Jack

Hope my REB pilots are flying them.  Bombs away!!!!!!! Surprise Whistling

Get well Chuck.  BTW: we called him Toots for a while.  He posted one day back years ago, his trains TOOTED. Laugh

Had big storm.  Lots of lightning, pitch black sky and beatring rains.  We are now under a flash flood warning.  Bet pond filled up.

BTW: found this afternoon that someone took their 4 wheeler and broke off a big 4X4 post I had to cement in at the back cable [pulled it up last year this time].  Lifted it up and drove in.  Deputy did not want to track it back home.  Now big rains so can't.  Fred's trail camera had dead batteries so no photos for the last 5 days. Bang Head  Seems Fred's camera is not working everytime we have a "visitor". Sigh  Pam did see an unruly white guy with long flowing hair [yes not helment] riding a big green 4 wheeler on Redford Place Drive [Major street in major subdivision] around 3 PM today.  Where were the Police?????

Later.

PS: 2 1/4 inches of rain in 30 to 40 minutes.

Good evening everyone.  About ready for bed.  I come off call at 0700, so I am hoping for a smooth ending to the week.  Today has been very nice.  Had morning church which was great.  In Sunday School, we watched a video on a revival that happened at a college in Kentucky back in 1970.  It is  amazing how God uses the least likely of us to bring about the biggest changes.  Of course, that is how we know it is of Him and not some charismatic people on their own.

Tonight's church service was great too.  Had a bunch of folks join the church and also a lot of visitors from as far away as Hawaii.  For a small town with lots of farms and few big draws, we do get a number of visitors.  On Friday, we had Bill Cosby here doing a show.  I didn't go, but folks say it was very good.  He did step on some toes as he has often been known to do by calling folks out for being lazy, or for thinking someone has a right to sit at home and not work to put food on their table, etc.

I am almost done with a project I have been working on this past week.  We had the house painted and since doing so, the outside lights that were faded needed to be cleaned and painted.  It was a nice project as it required each fixture to be taken down, disassembled, washed, and painted and then returned to their location.  I have the final two drying as I type this.  I will finish tomorrow after work.  It is amazing how much better they look.

Chief, please tell Mrs. Pam we said Happy Birthday!  Hope you got her all she wanted.  You married a good woman and I am sure you have treated her right for her special day.

Better get going.  I will continue to keep Chuck in my prayers.  If anyone else has a specific thing they need prayer about, I will add them to my list....just email me and I will get it done.

God Bless,
Dennis

Evening all

Had special intentions at all three Masses this weekend as well as a special Eucharistic Adoration service for the youth of the county who were having a retreat.

I got the Marx sets out and the kids and I put up a 6' x 6' and played on the floor.  They had their army soldiers, dionsaurs, and animals playing, for hours today.  It was a blast.  Did some major tree trimming to make way for the addition we're going to start.  Going to add another bedroom.

Good night and may God bless

Good evening all,

Reffed two games Saturday and helped oldest daughter with some tree work.  Tired.  Took it easy Sunday.  Did go for a walk with wife.  I have not been on as much or commented as much since Chuck took ill.  Every time I sign on I dread the worst.  Continued prayers for him and his family.  Everything else pales in significance.

Just home from a 2200 motor cycle mile trip to northern MN, WI and lots of time in MI, hard to beat Lake Superior and Lake MI -- perfect weather almost every day.  Except for Friday late afternoon when we barely dodged a tornado in Menominee, MI -- not so much fun.  Lots of miles for 5 days.

The week ended perfectly last night at Target Field in MPLS when the Twins THUMPED the yankees, great game, finally.

So sorry to hear about Chuck's health, hope he can hang there --  tough time for his family.
