Ray - for your only O gauge set, it's a good one Smile

Other Ray - prayers for healing and good results of treatment.

James T - I think you will get the job, I have a really good feeling about it.

Prayers for all our intentions here on the pot, those we all know and others that are known only to a few of us or only to one member.  Prayers for healing and blessings.

Jack - Char is getting stronger.  We're waiting for resuts of the biopsy done Monday.  Also trying different medication as one made her sicker.   Dad is holding in there, but the infection has been a real problem.  Mom is working hard trying to keep him at home, but we are afraid she will get hurt and then where will they be?  Jeff is hobbling around really well compared to pre-surgery.  My aunt is doing great from her surgery.  So, even though we have been down we are not out and things are really starting to look up for the Brutus clan and friends.

Did I tell you guys about the python?  My wife's friend's daughter spent the night with a friend.  The friend's Dad has a pet python that has the run of the house.  Daughter said it would lay down next to the friend and sleep at night.  All stretched out.  Well, a call to vet revealed that this is how pythons decide if they can eat something - they measure it, because once they start they can't stop eating it or die.  They sleep curled up!  Anyway, the lady called the little girl's Dad and explained and he cussed her out and told her to mind her own business.  He called a couple days later and said he was sorry, he checked with his vet and found out she was right - that snake had been waiting to get big enough to eat his daughter for several years.  Snakes are not Dogs, they are predators!

OOPS - son just broke one of our Pampered Chef cooking stones and now he is cleaning another one....  Hope it survives!

Tardis is ready - BARK!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Good evening all,

Busy day today - I passed my fitness test; I wasn't too worried about since I exercise five days a week.  Work kept me busy until about 1700, and then we had Bible study tonight at the church. I'm pretty tired now as this is a late night for us.  I just enjoyed some pecan pie with homemade chocolate ice cream (a treat for passing the fitness test), and I am off to bed.

Prayers will be said for all those in need.

Good night all,

Joe

I have not stopped by in a while.  Really busy lately, working crazy hours.

Trip to Florida a couple of weeks ago.  Got through Ga. just ahead of that winter storm on the return tirp.  My youngest son and his wife visited the weekend before last.

Picked up the Texas Special FT B unit and UP ACF stock car I had on order on my last visit to the LHS.  Those pretty much used up the Christmas money.

Not much else.

Prayers for healing and job hunting.

Later all.

Snakes, Thumbs Down . Only good one is a dead one! One of the teachers that works with our daughter had a Rosey Boa in her classroom til it decided to take a bite out of her wrist. Took them quite a while to get it to release it's bite.

Trying to figure out what to take to the museum on friday, appears that it will only be two runners. Might end up going in on sunday as well, hope somebody else can make it. Got some "honey do's" scheduled for sunday.

Hope there aren't to many golfers on here. If you are please don't watch the open from Torrey Pines this weekend. With what Mother Nature is dumping on you guys wouldn't want anybody crying. Whistling

Good morning all,

It is cloudy in SE Indiana with some Snohio due in late tonight.  Back to work today and hopefully a couple of "normal" days before a "semi-normal" weekend.  First big race of the year as 24 Hours of Daytona is on.  It is kind of an all star event as all sorts of drivers compete from various series.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL and I can drive for once.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning from work in Central Jersey,

12 to 18" of snow and ice. Roads are a mess. NJ Transit buses are not running. No big problems with the electric distribution system.

What was that father thinking about the snake? I am not crazy about snakes either.

Navy Jack, you're up early.

Breakfast and then deliver the safety message to the crew.

Prayers and thoughts for all in need.

Jim, I hope that the call for the job comes today.

Aloha. What is this 'snow' you all are speaking about? Wink  Ray, prayers for your recovery. That's a beautiful set. Brutus, what a great animal story! Good thing our bearded dragon lizard is only 3 inches long. So far. Ran endless errands after work last night. Maybe trains later.

Morning Folks,

Another snow day.  Had to go in yesterday for a meeting.  Today I am going to burn a vacation day.  Got about 7 to 8 inches last night.  Fought with a  #^$&%@ snow blower shear pin that did not want to come out.  After about 15 minutes of beating, banging and cussing it came out.  Once I got the snow blower working it only took about 40 minutes to clear my driveway and sidewalks and a path for the neighbor to get her car out.

I picked up a ZW from a teacher's husband who was liquidating his collection.  Need to get out the meter and tools and check it out.  He gave it to me, if it checks out OK I'm going to give him some $$$ equal to what a similar one sells for on eBay.  He didn't want to have to mess with shipping it so he didn't list it on eBay.  He told me just to keep it, but I'd feel bad if I didn't give him something.  Wish I had known he was selling all his other Lionel stuff before he put it on eBay.

Prayers to all who need them.  Stay safe.

Big Smilehey john, when you are an alte cocker like me you get up early and dont sleep much. in illinois here there is a type of snake that comes out in the snow sometimes breaking its hibernation, called the bullsnake.   it grows about eight feet long and can bite like heck, but is non poisonous.  there is a big one in a burrow under a neighbors shed.  we have seen his tracks in the snow.  it is one reason why i bought the 30-30 henry.  it comes under the deck of our house and freaks gigi out.  in her country there is no such thing as a non poisonous snake.   anybody own a lionel navy train.  think that would be fun to run.  cool cars with it.  dont have a lionel crane. could makethe sharp o27 curves. what are the best lighted bumpers i can use for o27. any ideas would be appreciated. navyjack

It happened. The Hamster got off his cage and went on strike, resulting in no electricity getting to the computer on the Snohio Deflector shield. By the time we renegotiated the Hamster's contract it was to late. We got 4" of Snohio cannon snow.

Good morning all,

Once again, we did not receive any snow here in OK.  Today's high is 67 and tomorrow it will be 70.  It's supposed to plummet after that and we may get some snow on Monday or Tuesday.  This has been a very non-wintery winter for us.

Have a great day it's time for me to get back to work.

Got a new florissant fixture for garage.  Instant on with bright white [but energy efficient] bulbs.  Got it installed.  Was a little work getting all those wires in a box as have three way switches.

Now for BoJangels chicken [left over from last night] and TV.  Wifey at Rolesville 175th Aniv. Comm. meeting.

Fife, Jack, Brent and Jim, thank you for the prayers and well wishes regarding my G.I. Problems.  I really appreciate the kind thoughts.  I felt well enough this morning to go to the memorial service for my friend,  Jerry Blaine but did not attend the luncheon after.  Did not want to push my luck.  The service was well attended with a full chapel and friends from all over the country.

I have been in the hobby for over 40 years now and it was like a history lesson looking at all the faces today of the guys I have known over the years involved with trains.  Of course there were some empty chairs too but that's life.

Hope to get myself in gear and get on with things tomorrow.

Good night all,

Ray

Good evening all,

The wife had a ladies' potluck at church tonight so I tended to all the kids myself.  It went well: no injuries, bellies full, and the house still stands.  The kids are all in bed and the wife just came home so it's time for us to relax together.

I'll be getting the shorts back out since tomorrow's high is 70.

Good night,

Good morning all,

It is a dusting of Snohio in SE Indiana today.  Work yesterday was hectic, and I have a lot of catching up to do. Hopefully I will get in a full week next week.   Was up last night due to aftereffects of flu, I think, but since today is Friday, I am not too concerned.  Lucas will be home this weekend.  I think he wants to see situation with his grandfather for himself.  I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL anytime and I can drive.  Continued prayers to all who need them.  I have been reading the latest Lionel Tinplate catalog, CTT, and Trains.  Good article about railroads in civil war is in latest Trains.  I see where the Lionel RTR catalog is being posted at some sites.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning from Snow Covered Central Jersey,

Back at work getting the morning safety huddle info together. The only incident reported so far is a near miss flash when a trouble shooter was reconnecting. No injuries. Customer had a jumper across the meter and main breaker.

Navy jack, that is some snake. Gigi must really freak out.

Pat, I finally saw RFD TV. Duroing my rest period we had the TV on in the break room. We have a Dish not cable. I watch a show on Antique tractors. Very good show. I wish my cable company had it.

Mike C. I have to check out the article on Civil War Trains.

Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Stayin' frosty boys.  Ugly morning with imminent winter weather here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Think someone backed a GG1 over Pat's hamster.  Kids home again today.  Littlest princess caught Daddy's cold.  After clearing the homestead, the Fifepup 2000 went out and made a quick C-note, then stopped for an aching muscle.  Told him his #6 Bears jersey is on order...Whistlinghe got that.

Mornin' Fellas.

Was quite the view driving in this morning. As I pulled out of our driveway and headed down the road there were 4 trees down, they were down yesterday and prevented me from getting to work, but today some of the snow had melted and someone trimmed them back and it was almost like driving through a pine tree tunnel.

Have to order a portable air compressor today so I can get started building the arched curved stone bridge for the layout. building it out of 2 pieces of 3/4 inch pine board, some 3/4 inch pine for the risers, and 1/8 inch plywood for the sides and arch tunnels. Think I have a way to do the arches so hopefully it works on the first try!

Fife - Why a #6 Bears Jersey? You could just get him a Boller Ravens Jersey! Smile

Not much else going on...
