Evenin' All.
Spent monday and a good part of tuesday at the museum, decorating for the layout for Christmas. Got park wide "Christmas on the Prado" starting tomorrow afternoon, it will be mobcity for the weekend. Needless to say with some of the changes that the exhibitors have to live with I avoid the place.
Yesterday and today have been decorating days at home, not getting a lot accomplished though. SWMBO has been out & about so the "stamp of approval" has not been issued yet.
Great news Brutus, continued .
Chuck, No matter what just pull the cord and not his finger.
Later all.

Merry Christmas You All !
I'm still around, been crazy around here. Trying to meld everything from the office into the house area, and then get Christmas decorations up, etc.. In a nutshell;
- Business has been busier the past month, since we moved. (no complaint)
- FIL had some bad days, was in the hospital for a week, but is doing really well now. Wife spent a LOT of time in the support role.
- Took trains to the Cal Stewart meet, did OK, but wont do that again. Most buyers were looking for items that they could get at a "steal". 80-90% of attendees were either dealers or 2nd tier buyers/sellers. Sunday did have some "public" in, not many but some. I think I may have 9 or 10 cars to people that bought other stuff. AND best of all they were excited about it.
- Trying hard to "FIT" stuff in the house, sure is an uphill battle!
- Friend of mine is building a Christmas layout for a party for Bob Eubanks, and renting the layout. Asked if I would help him set it up next week, he is also building a home layout for some Dr., and needs help wiring. So will try to give him a hand.
- ALL is well here, have a quiet evening at home tonight, so think I will have a bowl of Chili, and go out to the train room, and try to straighten things up.
-REALLY GLAD TO HEAR THE CHAR MAY BE COMING HOME THIS WEEK !!!! THAT IS WONDERFUL !!
- Like the signature image RT, looks great.
Take care all, hope everyone stays healthy, and happy. GOOD LUCK for all on the job hunt, this can be a terribly tough time of the year. Just remember you don't have to look far to find some people worse off!! God Bless.

fifedog So, wifey asked what's on my wish-list. Told her "nothing". She told me to pick "something", or she will order the wrong "nothing". I liked the upcoming release of MTH's B&O 2-bay fish belly hoppers (6-pack). Then I started noticing inacuracies. Numbered wrong for one. Ribbed (wrong) sides caused them to apply the B&O off center. The more I study them, the more disenchanted I get. Oh, well...back to "nothing".

fife, Your starting to sound like one of those rivet counting 2-railers. Guess you are going to have to start buying Atlas to get all the details correct.
Seriously Bob at AM Hobbies has some nice B&O hoppers but only in two road numbers. I have a pair of them and they are nice.

Chuck,
Make sure the cannon doesn't backfire this year like it did last February. Left me wondering if the Chief paid you and Buckeye for that.
Ray (AF53),
What K5 is that in your avavtar? I've got a bit of a soft spot for those. Stay tuned, I'll be posting some AF pics and maybe videos once the Christmas layout is up and running.
The 490/492 NP alcos arrived yesterday, and they are beautiful aside from some sort of residue on the roofs. I gave them a brief test and put them away until Christmas. The 490 runs but needs a light clean and lube, and the 492 roars as it should. Love that sound.
The 30B just got here a few minutes ago, and it looks good. There is something rattling around inside, so I'll have to remove the case and check it out.
Good Morning, Guys!
Its 30-ish today, sunny and a little breezy. Car is DOA and, naturally, had 2 fire calls. At least the Harley runs, but it is a brisk trip to say the least....on both false alarms.... And now that the bike is out and ready, it'll be quiet the rest of the day....go figure.
Put some stuff up for sale to a "local" retailer, we'll see if I get any bites. Then the diecast drag race stuff goes on to the 'bay. Need to generate some cash. I have 2 vehicles to work on, and need to get them scheduled so I can get there and make the repairs....and I might be contracted to decorate another house.
I'm slowly getting most of my trains boxed up and re-stored. Someone dropped off a bunch of hard plastic cases at the firehouse. I'm lining them with foam and/or bubble wrap and storing trains and trackage in them. Works really good.....I wonder if that's a tip I can send to CTT? What do ya think, Bob? Kent?
OK, back to the work search. RT, yeah I was thinking/hoping the same thing.....I get a call Friday afternoon...I need ya Monday.....and thanks for the prayers on that guys. It will come on God's time, but I wish He would hurry up!!
Check ya later...and, yeah, you can miss us with that Snohzo til like 2 weeks from now...

Good Morning
30 with snow flurries, no biggy. The average snowfall for december is 12 inchs so we have it coming sooner or later. I am expecting a visit with Charlie tonite, we shall play with trains and just chat..Eggs with sausage gravy for breakfast.

Mornin' boys. Sunny & 32 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Saw the "pink" sunrise an hour before cnw1995. Had my Marine unit interview yesterday;thought I did good...we'll see. Unfortunately, woke up to wind damaged pvc gate (didn't close it ). Gonna set us back a few hundred (of course they don't manufacture that particular style any longer ).

Aloha all. Looks like the sun is coming up all pink and red and salmon. 'Red sky at morning, Sailors take warning." Look out, Fife! Looks like a nice busy day here. Glad the Snohio Summit went well - we are practicing snow drops here.

CHUCK,
Glad to here that the meeting with BUCKEYE went well. Did YUZ GUYZ talk about the new SNOW CANON for the state of SNO HI ZO? Whats that co ordenence for NC again?

JACK,
Sorry bout the font size the site got a little nuts up and wouldn't let me switch back to 14 pt. Go figure? BIG CONGA anyway.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a snowy 30 degrees. Light snow cover on the ground. Going up to 42 today.
Today is an easy day. Wife is going grocery shopping and I have a few chores to do.
I had a great meeting with Buckeye yesterday. It was good to see him again. We planned a big snow storm for NC. They deserve a white Christmas.
Dining car is here and it's Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
Hi GUYZ,
30 degree difference from yesterday, its 32 now. Big rains and winds here.
BANKS, I'll be going out on Saturday too. Going to be the dog for BRO and UNCLE.
DENNIS, WOW 27 PTS!!!! Big deer, I'll have to check the net for pics.
BRENT, thats a nice sight to see, the deer at quite the distance.
JOE, maybe have to go SOUTH to the CHIEFs when I retire after next year?
CHIEF, I had my Legacy upgrade since June, just loaded it up in November. Just got done with new benchwork.
JACK, BIG CONGA! On 3years.
Stay frosty,
Morning. Woke up early and could not go back to sleep. Blame it on wifey. She woke me up at 4:30 to ask what time my Dr.'s apt was. She was going to ride with me in to town. I did doze for a while to get up and find her getting ready to go to work. She changed mind and car pooled. BRRRR Ordered her a Kindel for Christmas. She goes out yesterday and buys another brand that was on sale. BRRRRR Well, no breakfast and only black coffee as I have blood work done today. Guess I will get ready and go in to Dr's early. Got meetings with BB&T and RBC today to discuss the financing of the $900,000 fire truck.
Have a good one.
Good morning all,
It is cold in SE Indiana with a dusting of Snohiozone on the ground. Sending an "extra" to "Points West" with load of prayers for Char's homecoming. I did a lot last night with really nothing tangible to show for it. Results may be down the road. Mostly involved conversations with family members and items for wife on computer. Long day, busy day at work. I had english muffins and cereal on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime tonight and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning all. Quick stop for a cup before going in. Brutus, that is great news....now lets pray for her to pull this final round and bust out of that place! I am sure she and the whole family are ready for her to come home.
Chief, I had my Legacy upgrade sitting around for some time before I put it in. Should have some trains going this weekend, but we have quite a schedule for the next few weeks. I will just have to make time.
Hope everyone has a blessed day,Dennis

PS - Jack, congrats!
PPS - sounds like a sweet engine, Chief!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
JimG97P - I've done that in the past using my phone and the mobile version of ebay! Glad you got your "fix"!
Rich - prayers for good results ASAP!
Ray - got you on the screen! I think it's Don's turn to drive, we'll have to swing by and see if his neighbor - uh, I mean if he is still up!
Keep fingers crossed - doctor said if nothing surprises us tomorrow or Friday, Char can come home Friday
Tardis is ready, so let's hit it!
Sunny about 20 this morning. Made it up to about 40.
I'm sure enjoying the pictures of the AF equipment you guys post from time to time. Am resisting the urge to purchase - for now.
I don't remember who was asking about the insulating pins on Lionel 027 switches, but they go in the ends of the short rails that end at the frog.
Picked up my Texan add on two pack yesterday - at lunch time!
Navaho piggyback trailer flatcar and a Moe & Joe lumber flat car in MKT markings. Neat pieces. I find it interesting that Lionel shipped the expansion pack before the Texan train set that they are supposed to add on to was shipped.
All for now
Jim
Thats a great story. Made me laugh! But I'm sure you're not the only one guilty of that lunch break purchase, I know you're not the only one!

Evening all. Did get around to upgrading my Legacy. No joke. Had the package for a month or maybe two. Then loaded the Genset. Mine was not screwed down in the box as directions said. Have not played with all the "bells and whistles". Does sound great. Can hear the three engines start up and shut down as needed to pull. Smoke stacks open [the flapper on top] and close with the engines. Did not run it as need to clean track and layout. Just let it move a few feet forward and backward. Got lots of boxes of cars sitting in the floor too. Got a set of corrigated NS car haulers to open.
Chat later.
PS: corrected some spelling on the "banner".
Good evening all, My son and I got the Christmas outdoor lights up today and they look pretty tonight. No trains today but I made a nice oyster stew for lunch with bacon bits to add to the flavor. Had two bowls full for lunch.
Jim, my Tardis beacon is definetly on tonight. Many of them!
Dennis, good luck to the kids at the concert. Sounds like they are doing well.
Chief, I'd like to see a picture of your new NS genset when you get it going.
Nights continue to be cold but it warmed up to a pleasant 70 today.
D Baker seems to be missing in action. Need to give him a call.
Laz, you need to go down South for the deer. Sounds like they are thicker than rats and rabbits down there.
Good night all,
SPMan
Rich maybe he wants to wait till beginning of next pay period to bring you in and call you day befor and say merry christmas your hired please be here tomorrow at 7:30 am
Good evening everyone. Just got back from violin practice with the kids. They are getting ready to do a mini concert for the seniors at an assisted living facility. Both kids were asked to do solos, but then the instructor decided to have them do some duets. They are both doing really well with their playing. It is amazing how fast they learn.
Doug, we did get plenty of storms down here. Lots of heavy winds and the temps went from 82 yesterday to the low 30s tonight and a high in the 50s tomorrow....a bit crazy. As to the tornadoes, we had some pass to the west of us and also up in Atlanta, but we were fine. Thanks for asking.
Laz, yeah, we have plenty of deer here. Our season starts in early September and goes through January. Many of the local farms have year round harvesting allowed too. On one of the plantations here, a guy bagged a huge 27 point deer that is expected to be the new state record, but official dry scoring will not be till January.
Chief, I do hope you get to running the engine soon. Would like to see some photos of it from either you or Laz. Sounds like a great engine....with the slight error Laz mentioned.
Well, I do have to get going as it will be an early morning for a big case. My bride and I are to have a candle light dinner at the church. They have a great evening with the praise team and orchestra playing music for everyone, followed by a nice dinner with all the trimmings. We are really looking forward to this.
God Bless,Dennis
Evening all not a lot going on had a good day other than a couple who love to stir things up. but they'll get there correcting in time. There crying now because they were asked to work OT for comp time. can only do that if you agree there trying to say there being force to work OT for comp time never came out that way supervisor asked would you be willing to work for comp time and that was it and there bringing up something that happened a year ago being a service dept we can be required to work OT where someone was told they had to work OT one night, well there trying to twist that into that there trying to make us work OT for comp time and that never was or came out. These 2 are never ending.
about 2 weeks ago they went around say all OT was canceled the only OT you can get is for comp time and what actually happened was the supervisors boss ( ours to ) was told any other OT to be filled will be comp time or you will have to do without on any more positions that come up for the pay period out side of what i have assigned by employee's signing up for. so if someone was to get OT then call off or say they can't work it now to refill that position it will have to be someone willing to work comp time. ( comp time for every hour you work you get an hour off later. at departments agreement to when you want it)
Anyway everything else is fine. lol
Hope all had fun today or atlest tried to
Happy December first---24 Shopping days left.....
Interview was great, looked good, then he told me he's going to try to get me a job, but he's still interviewing.....maybe next week...
Weather here is rediculous...John will agree....wind up to 50 MPH, driving rain, and I had to drive to Newark.....wonderful...and I was 45 minutes early...60F today and then will drop like the proverbial rock later.
Car issues, job and money issues....and life is...good.
I'll check back later!!
