Hey All

Really running late here, according to all weather forecasts, were going to need snorkels here soon.  Pineapple Express coming in, only this one is 3,000 miles of solid moisture headed our way resembling a fire hose and nozzle pointed "dis way".  (Need to watch that river channel behind our house, ConfusedConfused)

Summary of weeks events -

- Helped in the construction of a new layout.

- Did some maintenance and "tweaking" on an existing layout

- Did disassembly and initial breakdown of a new display Christmas layout, at a mall..  (will explain more later)

Good morning everyone.  Been busy still.  We have a number of the inlaws coming over today.  Got Turkey brining in the cooler, made desert and wife is making the rest of the meal.  With a little prayer and patience, we will get through this.  Put up some of the wife's presents (drapes and wind chimes), the rest, she wears.

Chief, sorry to hear that you are having such issues.  One of the guys at work has digital trail cameras that are infra-red, so no flash and he has them hidden.  Then, he can see what has been going on with his properties.  He also has a downloader that allows him to copy the photos and see them as well, so he can see if he has a monster buck to look for, a meaty doe, or a trespasser that needs gettin!

Laz, sending you a email message.  Found something you may be interested in.

Take care,
Dennis

Morning all. Back from church mtg. Sunny but a brisk 11 degrees. Haven't killed the 'hidden lizard' yet - nor has this gift been discovered. Bride is happy because everyone's home. Hope to try to run all the tinplate Marx cars later today.  Fife, beer for me too.  Good luck, Chief. Sounds like a stake-out's in order.

Just a Legacy System this year Fife I have enough trains for now. Thanks for asking thou Whistling

Morning all well its lunch time for me here at work lunch is 11 - 11:30 for us and if I work over which I'm doing tonight my supper time is 3:30 to 4P.M. Just can't really eat much when its like that then when I get home at 8:30 I'm starving can't understand guess as I like 8-9 period for breakfast and like 1-2 for lunch and around 6 or so for supper.

Guess when I retire a lot will change lol but if I have my way that's 14 years from now as then I'll be 70.

We'll see with how my health holds out. Do fairly well tight now so I hoping to do that. Will temporary file for SS when I hit 62.5 so wife can file off mine ( if that's still going on then) and then repay it what I get and cancel my SS and keep working to 70 to get max out of it.

Hope all have a good weekend its rainy and in the mid 40's here today

Good morning to you all. I haven't been on this thread in quite some time but I wanted to see if some of you who know a lot about Marx trains could/would help out a fellow on the Classic Toy Trains forum who is attempting to find a production date for a Marx locomotive. I have misplaced my collector's guide, so I'm unable to assist him. He posted several days ago but has had no responses yet.

Morning.  Good to see another Southerner [BabeRuth] on here.  Run over ot Columbia and get that Carpetbagger [RT].  Cloudy and chilly.  May have a mix by morning or may not.  Mainly a cold rain.  Rain we need as pond is not going over the spillway and usually it is by now.  Got up late, cooked breakfast and then watched a John Wayne on Westerns channel.  Seems no matter how many times I watch his movies, still an enjoyment.

Seems that Shake and Bake is going to change to Slippy Slidey.  She'll be coming down the mountain when it rains. Music Whistling

Work in train room later.

Good morning all,  Don B. and I are bracing for the Pineapple express.  It rained all morning, a little break now but more on the way.  A lot of moisture heading East after it goes through here.

Finished giving out Christmas baskets at church this morning.  All went well with only a few no shows.  They can pick up next Monday if they still want one.

Getting ready for "Christmas Is" show at Citrus college this afternoon.  Will meet some friends there for the performance.  Got to run, more rain falling now.

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s.  Scout set is running again.  I got the original PowerMax transformer back and hooked that up.  Runs just fine.  Turns out it starts the voltage at 0.  The CW-80 I was using when I had the problem must have a higher initial setting.  I seem to recall some of the first Thomas sets had the same problem.  You would think Lionel would learn or at least let people know about it.  Lucas is home and they have been busy doing stuff here.  Will go to movie tonight instead.  I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast.  TBIL and I can drive.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Had snow, sleet [lots] and rain.  Then some flurries and then rain.  Nothing now.

Saga continues.  Since 9:45 last night when I put lock on uppper cable, someone vandalized Fred's double seat deer stand near that cable.  I drove up around 2 PM to feed and the camo skirtting [cable tied] was hanging over the cable.  Sticks fixed to adjust the front bar to make it as a "bench rest" were thrown in the bushes.  A section of old tire [folks use to dump on this property] was up on the floor.  An old 55 gallon barrel that was behind the tree [that the stand was attached too] was thrown in front of the stand.  Called Sheriff's Dept.  Took them 2 hours to respond as they had big shooting west of Wake Forest.

Guy had a domestic with wife last night.  Went to mother-in-laws to get his wife saying he was going to kill her and any cops that came.  BIL called 911.  When deputies arrived, he came out with gun pointed.  BIL witnessed the account.  They told him to drop the gun and and let them his hands.  He refused and went for them.  All three deputies shot him.  He died later at Wake Med.  His Mother was on TV and said they shot him several times all over but she did NOT blame the Sheriff's Dept.  He was suicidal.  She was shown on TV hugging the Sheriff.  He committed suicide by law enforcement.  Couldn't do it himself.  Sad.

SNOWING again lightly.  Off to SIL's for a drop by.

Later.

Good evening all, just back from Christmas show at local college.  It was a great show with lots of music.  College kids put on a real Broadway quality show with live ochestra.  I like the production number of "We need a little Christmas" best.  They had people flying through the air like Peter Pan during the show.  It was impressive.  Some members of the student body must have been behind us.  They hooted and hollered for every act.  I thought they were drunk at first but decided they were just enthusiastic.  Hard to remember when I was that crazy.  Don't think we ever were.  They would escourt you out back then.  The weather here still stinks.  It has rained all day and we had to take umbrellas to the show.  Wife and I are going out to eat now with #2 son rain or no rain.  You gotta eat!   Got hold of something that didn't agree with me earlier today and it kept me busy for a while but things seem better now after some meds and time.  Gotta get something tame tonight.

Chief, that was a sad story of suicide by law inforcement.  I feel for the cops that had no choice.  I had one suicide that jumped in front of my train once.  It is a helpless feeling but nothing you can do.  It was their choice, not mine.  It just makes you angry for someone to involve you in something like that.  I sympathize with the police officers.

Hope all you guys back East survive all the snohio coming your way.  Have a safe and enjoyable Christmas season.

Good evening all,

It's been a week or so since I last posted.  I've been checking in every now and then to keep up on the posts, but I have not had much time to write.  I took this past week off from work to study for a promotion test next week.  I have not studied as much as I wanted, but I have been able to spend more time with the wife and baby.  I have also been able to knock out some house chores and finish up the Christmas shopping.

It appears everyone is doing well and some of you are even enjoying some snow.  Brutus - It's great Char is home and I hope it remains that way.

I take the test Monday so my days will return to normal after that.

Regards,

Joe

Evening all

Lots of snow on the ground.  Kids have been having fun.  Finally got some outside lights up.  I'll put up a few more tomorrow.   Got a ceramic house at Lowes 40% off, the Weaver House from It's a Wonder life movie, got it for $14.  I plan on putting it under the tree with the Polar Express after the packages are opened in less than a week.

Fife - A Circus Train

Laz - Serious about the Black Lab?

Chief - Be careful, the wackos may have a chip on their shoulder and a six pack in their gut.

Continued prayers for all who need them, especially Char,

May God bless

Evenin' guys!

Princess is safe at "home", got very teary eyed when I saw her.  Very Happy.

Spent the day jumping out of 2nd story windows with a new "bailout" system.  3 times with out a pack, 3 times with a pack and 3 times with a pack blindfolded.  I was good with it.  A little achey right now, was going head first out windows.

Friday went to Newark, NJ for the Devils game....they lost, but I was on the ice to shoot for a new Ford - missed both shots at the net.

Very busy with water rescues and vehicle rescues last couple of days.  1 big car fire and a few flase alarms.

Have interview Monday @ 11.  Had a phone call about another opportunity today during training.

Got sick during the week, and I hope this cold is gone soon.  I have things to do!!

Fife - since you asked...a Jersey Central Camelback (Lionel, please!) otherwise we have to get together during the winter at your place again!  And when I get MY place....

Going to bed, stay safe and warm guys!  WIll check back soon!

Good night, Rich - hope you feel better in the morning!  Thanks for the prayers guys, she seems to be better every day now.  She's taking Chief's advice and eating and getting stronger.  Chief - good luck, hope they catch those creeps.  Prayers for those officers that had to deal with that suicidal whacko.

Nothing much got done today - played some video games, did the grocery shopping, about finished with the Christmas shopping, and had nice chats with RT and SJ.  Prayers for all of us and our friends and family.

Tardis is ready and we have Becks, Old Mills, Blue Moons, Sam Adams, and some LITE beer, as well as banilla, cookies, and rootbeer!  I'll be over in a few minutes so turn on the beacons!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Mornin' boys.  Mornin' English.  Overcast and 27 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  On tap today is laundry, layout, and football.  Met grand"pup" last night.  Already 9 lbs and a cutie.  Was a good moment for yours truly.  Took youngest princess to Wise Ave VFD for their Christmas display.  The hall was packed, which I consider a good thing.  Then we had a "daddy date" to a local waterfront restaurant.  It was amazing how prim-and-proper Lexi is when it's just the two of us.

anjdevil - A little "hot stove" symposium ---> Yes  Good luck with the interview.  Middle princess will be spending Christmas break on Medic 47.  Can't wait to put all the hours of training and classroom to use.  She has become a favorite of one of the old salts there, so she'll be fine.

Good morning everyone.  John B., you are welcome sir.  And thanks for the email...that guy does tell it like it is, but with colorful language!  Chief, be careful.  Seems like a good time to steak it out and prosecute the intruder.  With regard to that suicide by cop incident, that is a shame.  As if cops don't have a lot to deal with in domestic calls, burglaries, car accidents..... you name it, and now they have to deal with that.  As Ray said, they did what they had to do, but now they have to live with it.

Getting ready for church.  We have the pastor of the church we are sponsoring in San Francisco here to preach this morning and then the Annie Moses Band tonight.  Should be a good time.  It will be the first time I will hear this preacher, but I have heard the AMB several times and they are great!

Hope everyone has a blessed day.
