It is still in progress, and all I need to do is get some L brackets from Lowes to mount some supports. I tried to screw the supports in place from under the layout, but that is very difficult given their location.
What a cold snap here! Partly sunny but we have sub seasonal temperatures. Several areas awakened to frost this AM but not here (yet), the first for most in these here parts. The temps reached the mid 40s here today. Lo and behold, the grass has just about stopped growing, so now comes the onslaught of leaves......80% still hanging on to the trees. The calendar for the balance of 2010 is filling up fast!

Good afternoon everyone. Been busy. Finished work early then went and picked up kids with my wife. Went out to our favorite Italian place for lunch...YUM! Had violin practice with the kids as tomorrow is the program.
Watched Celebrity layouts with Mandy Patinkin on RFD-TV. Given me some inspiration to get up to the train room to finish some projects. I am very tired as had little sleep this week, so after a nap, to the trains I go.
Brutus, please let Char know that we are praying for her quick recovery and return home.

It's what we do. Did you get that TV for the Sunroom that you mentioned a while back?
Since i have the 332 done for now, I've turned my attention to a 755 Talking Station that was in one of my junk boxes. It is missing the roof, reproducer, record, turntable, and most of the windows. Also, the base has significant peeling paint and surface rust. I got an original record, as well as an extremely nice 589 Mystic Station which is the non operating version of the 755. The reason I went for the 589 was that the only parts dealer that has the roof wants $65, and I got the complete 589 for $40. I plan on cutting a hole in the base of the 589 to accept the 755's mechanism. All that's left is to get a reproducer and turntable.
Good morning all, we have had light rain for the past couple of days and a little more this morning. I have been fighting a cold for a few days now. Wake up with sore throat every morning. Also coughing once in a while. Taking cold meds which shuts down the runny nose and sneezeing but still feel rough. Voice sounds bad too.
I finally got my mth F3 back on Tuesday after two months in the shop. Had all the electronics taken out account no upgrade kits available and put in a Dallee reverse unit. Engine runs great now but still only have mars light and no headlight. Maybe I can figure that out myself sooner or later. Engine has spent too much time in shop already.
Got E mail this morning from train buddy on vacation. He is at Elvis' house in Memphis. Says Elvis is worth more dead than alive. Friend plays drums in dixieland band so wanted to check out same on Beal Street in Memphis. He says nothing there now except cheap blues and rock bands in sleezy places.
TCA meet tomorrow but don't know if I will be well enough to go. I hope I can.

Also got an unfinished end table for the Sunroom - painted that off-white to match the other end table and sofa table. Also need to go pick up the 525i, mow and bag the yard, hopefully stop by the LTS, then go shopping for The Q's b-day. Sunday my goal is to F I N A L L Y get down to the train room and start work on a bridge and start scenicing Buckeye Valley (calling it that because it has 5 bridges spanning it), and Chief Creek flows through it!

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s, but cool this morning. Yesterday was slightly better with the only major headaches being trafic related ones. Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers. Did not hear from Lucas yesterday, but he may be waiting for his GF parents to make up their mind as well. The saga continues.... At least work is going well. The conversations we have....well, let us say they are quite "interesting" and sometimes "educational". I had bacon and biscuits on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East". TBIL anytime. I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Afternoon everyone. Finished my case early today and got home in a timely fashion to take care of some honey dos. Our kids are playing violin in a church production this Saturday, so we have been working hard to get them to know all the songs and get the timing down... a hard chore for 6 and 8 year olds. Tonight is a dress rehearsal, and daughter has dance. It is going to be busy.
Mike, I had one done recently and my wife had one not too long ago. My dentist did a great job, check, recheck, etc. Wife's dentist (same office) did not. Wife still has pain. Main thing is don't settle for any discomfort to remain before leaving the office. Good luck in the drama. I am sure we will have some of our own as our kids grow...(I am taking notes from all you guys).
Chief, Both are great rounds. I thing the 22-250 has a great reach for varmints, and certainly the 223 has a wide use and availability. I have not checked the last few years, but for a number of later years, the 223 has won the Wimbleton Cup in shooting, even out shooting the 308 for accuracy. Of course terminal ballistics are much less.
Brent, I Googled BMW- USA Customer Service and got a number of hits. If none of those work out, I can ask my local guy. I know with my car, I didn't have to pay for anything for the first 5 years...including oil changes and light bulbs. I agree with some other posters...I check your posts to first see that no harm has happened. If you didn't have bad luck, you wouldn't have any!

Aloha all. Was able to grab a quick date with my bride whilst the youngest wen to his 'adventure club' at the church last night. Sunny but 40s here this am - walked the youngest to school though. Or rather he rode his bike and I jogged alongside. LOL. Then signed a billion papers for re-fi. Bride is off to be reading-mom at school - so I will sneak in some train-running before going back to work. Closing up the house windows later. Don't suppose it'll get too warm again. It is a beautiful day outside today. However, I'm stuck inside getting ready for an inspection. It should be painless. The kids are out of school today and tomorrow for fall break. I think I'll respond to Chief's comments when I have more time, if I should even dignify them with a response .

Getting ready for the morning safety huddle, and had a few minutes to check out the posts. A lot of activity here this morning. I had to attend the "Staff Infection Meeting" yesterday. This one manager went from 8:00 to 2:30 without a lunch break. I can't remember what it was about. I was looking out the window watching the everything else.

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Lousy day yesterday. Crown did not fit for tooth. Have to go back again which means I have to &*^%$ with this *(&^%*^ temporary another wek or two. On top of all the family health issues, there is some minor drama with Lucas concerning his plans for the future (both immediate and long term) that has wife all upset, which makes life &*(&&(^ for me. Nothing major, but there are several situations that we would rather not deal with now. Then she suggests I mulch the leaves while they are dry and then does not like the job I did in the remaining time of sunlight as compared to what I can get done when I have a whole day to do it. Then..... the biggest screw-up was getting the soccer tourney schedule and seeing where that is all fouled up as well..... Did you ever have one of those days...........????

Chief has spoken about making videos recently. I think he is in the new Gieco commercial - the one about how much wood can a woodchuck chuck? If you haven't seen it yet, keep an eye out for it. Looks like the producers cut out the part where the Chief shows the woodchucks how much lead he can chuck.
December issue of Hot Rod magazine got here today. There is an article about the passing of Mercury with some good pictures of 60's and 70's NASCAR races. They show the variety in the cars that has been legistlated out of the modern NASCAR hardware. Really good picture of the 1973 Riverside race. You can tell at a glance who is driving what, instead of waiting to read the stickers on the cars as they go by. An American Motors Matador won that race.
The only train stuff I've got going is waiting on a couple of odds & ends from e-bay. Not train related, but I'm also waiting for a WWII chess set from Historic Avaition. The pieces are based on Allied and Axis people and equipment.
All for now.
The wife made Panini sandwiches for dinner tonight; she even baked some fresh French bread to use. It was a very delicious meal. For dessert she made pumpkin cupcakes with chocolate chip cream cheese icing. Those will not last long.
After dinner we had Bible studies at church. It was another great night. And even the Yankees won tonight.
