Sunny and 80 today.
The car owner/driver decided to go ahead and run opening night of State Fair Historic Half Mile dirt track after all. He has decided that not everybody can say that they raced against Ken Schrader, so this is an opportunity not to pass up. If the weather holds, we will be racing tomorrow night. We are running a limited late model. The class is open to unlimited late models too. We are going to be handicapped by horsepower.
Did some copper plumbing this evening. No leaks - at least not any big ones. I'll know for sure tomorrow after it has been under pressure for a while.
Still have not come up with a reason not to put the MKT, NYC, and UP stock cars in the 2010 catalog on order. Can anybody out there think of one?
Later dudes.
Good evening all, almost didn't get on here today. Just got busy and forgot about it doing a lot of running around today. Got my new music CD's in the mail today and have been playing the heck out of those with some traditional jazz music and ragtime stuff. I saw the ragtime ochestra play in San Diego last Thanksgiving so its nice to have both of their albums now. The other CD was recorded about 14 years ago by a guy named Ernie Carson with the Castle Jazz Band. Don't even know if he's still alive. He has one on there . called Old Bones which I can identify with now. Another funny title is "All Birds Look Like Chickens to Me". Well no one ever accused me of listening to contemporary music.
Thursday night guys are coming over in a few minutes for a train jam session. Just got back from dinner out so got to get with the program.
O BTW Jack Happy belated birthday Congratulations on 1000th post.
Good night all,

Hello all,
Checking in for what has become my weekly post. Been too busy farming and other stuff. I did watch James make some laps the other evening. It's starting to be on the dry side here, hope it's not an indication of what's to come.
Buckeye, If today is that tax thing I screwed up and sent my money a couple of days early.
I'm a little confused but I think someone had a birthday, belated
Spanky, Hope your feeling better. My broken ankle(3years +) still takes some time to get moving in the morning.
Brutus, continued good news about your Mrs. prayers continue.
Bob, Nice train and video
Another lousy Saturday is predicted. I'm going to take advantage and make preparations to rebuild a section of my Dad's collapsing house foundation. I'll start to put in some temporary supports. Also just so it is a little more difficult the electric service is on the wall that is giving way. I will have to temporarily support it.. A general contractor (Mrs' cousin) is coming Monday to start excavation.
Well it's past time to join my loving Mrs in bed
Prayers to all who may need them

Howdy guys! Buckeye - don't worry if you missed it this year, it will come around again next year
Daughter had a band concert tonight and was pretty good. She played snare, bells and bass drum.
TARDIS is ready and banilla sounds good. I have blueberry pie too so let's hit it! Wonder if Mike has any zuchini bread tonight? I think RT made brownies again, too!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
I keep thinking that I've forgotten something. Is today that tax day thing again?

Good evening everyone. Has been another long day. When finishing with scouting locations, caught up with wife at daughter's ballet practice. Then, we all went out for steak. Bride made arrangements for baby sitters for tomorrow, so it will be date night.
Had a nice conversation with Dad upon return to the house. He had called and so I called back and caught up with him. He is facing some issues with retirement and uncertainty given the current climate.
NavyJack, typically, it is the next issue after the subscription goes through. One important thing to keep in mind is that CTT has 9 issues, so it is not exactly monthly. If you missed a month (depending on the date of payment), you may be two months before seeing a copy. If you call, the girls that answer the phone should be able to tell you when you can expect your first copy.
Time for bed. God Bless,dennis

SJ ... file a claim with UPS .... they need to be more careful .
8n and RIch, funny you should mention an Aspen - the newly-minted driver came home all shiney-eyed about how about I get him an old car which he could fix up with all the engine things he's learning in HS. I said if he gets a job... Nice day here - probably last of the 80s for a while though. May look at fridges tomorrow night (our bankrupt state has a rebate thing going) and ours sounds like its dying. I feel like such a heel - totally forgot to go to youngest's school for Reading Day. He had to read with the principal. Fortunately, the bride forgot too.

Hi All
A beautiful afternoon. Garage is clean, granny even washed her car. My replacement Lionel set box arrived all bent up thanks to UPS so now I don't know what I want to do. Probably just give it up as a lost cause. Banilla is ready when the time comes swing on by in the Tardis.

Hi All,
Just returned from my LHS. Passed up on a few gereat blowouts ( AEC Crane set, MTH Halloween set and SF 4pk passenger cars.) MamaDiesel would be happy, if she knew. BUT did order the Pere Marquette freight car pack, the War Bonet ext vision caboose. MamaDiesel will not be happy if she finds out. The M-497 JET and others were very tempting.
Our grandaughter was baptized Sunday. Saturday I will be with Josh and Scouts on a decomisioned ice breaker moored in Port Huron. Then Sunday we will celebrate the triplett's 6th birthday.
Prayers for everyone, especially for those "IN HARMS WAY".
Just finished our taxes .... so much for promises from polititions ... FROM BOTH PARTIES .... you either have to make millions or have never worked or earned any money ! Oh well .... guess it's time to work on the trains and detailing and relax ......

Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s. Soccer was played outside last night due to a little confusion as to what was scheduled. A good time was had by all. Got home a little earlier and watched tape of "V" from night before. Still waiting for something to happen. I edged the sidewalks last night as well. Ground was so dry that it was the easiest first pass I have done in a long time. Sure makes a difference. One of the grandkids may not be visiting after, but Lucas may or may not be home. Have to be flexible. I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast. TBIL anytime and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a clear 48 degrees. Going up to 80 today with lots of sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do around the house, and then I will relax. Knees feel a lot better after a good night's sleep. The more PT you do, the more rest you need.
Happy Birthday... Mrs. Calabash (whereever you are)
Dining car is here for the usual Cheerios breakfast.

Good morning everyone. Got a heart this morning, so I am on my way in. Jack, sorry I missed your birthday and your thousandth post. I thought you celebrated everyday, so didn't think much of what the rest of us call "special occasions".
Spanky, with your avatar and then your talk about "Rehab", some folks who just jump in recently might have a different thought. Glad things are going well and that you are 100% soon.
Got to run, but hope everyone has a blessed day.Dennis

8ntruck Doug - How about giving your 16 year old his very own car? I've got the perfect one - a well used 4 door 1987 Dodge Aspen. Perfect for a beginning driver - lots of crush space, ugly, slow, dependable enough for around town, but high pucker factor when between cities. Slant six and a 904 Torqueflight - a combination that I dont think even a teenager could do serious damage to. All for now.

Finished up the taxes and in the mail, . Sure am glad that I didn't have any plans for any Vision Line Steam otherwise I'd really be ticked off. Made a pretty big hole in my "discretionary spending", for the rest of the year.

And too tough for FE to keep up with them!
