It took me almost all of lunch time to get caught up from the last couple of days thanks to the Chief's and our Southern Pals effects from their Snow Cannon. Back at the shop making repairs to the equipment from the (ab)use of the equipment. They know how to push equipment to the limit.

Navy Jack: Hang in there. Your wife will be fine. Think positive. Thoughts and prayers.

Welllllll, became a Grandpop this weekend...sorta.  Middle Princess brought home one of those programmable babies for her High School child developement class.  FLASH BACK to last year, when the oldest princess brought home a collicky baby (I kidded about tossing the varmit out the window...keep this in mind).  Her best friend spent the night with another school baby, then the two "mamas" decided to go out that night to a party, and left the littlest princess (who was only too eager to help) in charge.  Before wifey turned in, she checked on the littlest princess, who, during a crying fit with both babies closed herself (and them) in the closet.Shock  8-year old was so stressed that I would toss the babies out the window. Laugh  Oldest princess was so "questionable" as a parent, I'm pretty sure local Social Services office was alerted. Whistling

Middle Princess seems to have a better grasp on things.

Mornin' All.

Trying to work up the energy to unpack & service yesterday's stuff. What an exasperating day, gremlins everywhere. Before we even have a chance to open the doors a Z4000 bites the dust, and all kinds of little control issues w/DCS all day. To top it off the TMCC even started acting wonky late in the afternoon with similar types of control issues, was REALLY glad to see 4pm roll around. Lots of kiddos in yesterday, one of the pre-schools form up the coast was in with 75 kids & chaperones. Only had to tell one to not touch the trains, with the look that I got in response he must have never heard "no" before.

We both are still fighting the crud here, this stuff just does not seem to want to give-up.

Angel to all those in need.

Later All !

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful day. Sunny and 32 degrees. Going up to 44 today with lots of sunshine.

Today is an easy day. The usual chores and then relax. I may spend some time in the train room. Need to work on scenery. I am slow on the scenery subject.  At least, I can run trains while I am doing it.

Buckeye....Good luck with your garden.  Plant succotach.

NavyJack...... Prayers out for your wife.

Dining car was here and we had the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Good Morning All

Sunny and 45 today

Moms and grand moms never change worry worry about the kids. Me, of course I care but they are grown and should handle their own affairs. If they ask for help i'll be there. Of course there are hard times when we need to step in so don't change my meaning. I'm talking moms under normal conditions here. Aah a beautiful day that I plan  to enjoy.

Navy......prayers for your better half, hopefully stress.  She is beautiful inside and out from what you have written.  Worrying about your kids issues is an exercise in TOTAL futility, and today's ss issue will the grandchild will be fixed and replaced by something else tomorrow.  I could write a book, and the chapters continue with no end.  And Mom's go nuts over the kids.....ultimately to no useful purpose.  Hang in there.

Morning all.  Serious prayers for Navy's wife.  Sunny and warming fast.  Wifey here has my cold now.  Mine still will not go away.   Dr. called yesterday with some info.  Said I needed to exercise more.  Try having Town Board meetings at gym on treadmills. ShockLaugh Will get seeds in tray today.  Had to soak the seed starter soil.  Wife left the bag open and it dried out some.  Then you have to get it damp or it acts as if it is waterproof.  Plant seeds before you get it "soaked" and they float on top.  Then off to Miss Edna's for a visit.  Friend's Mom died and Pam cooked breakfast casserole and blueberry muffins.  I took it over to their house and woke them up.  Well, they will have hot breakfast without his wife having to cook.  LAZ, thanks for the link.  Have been ordering from ERR direct.  Need to order several diesel units.  Still interested in putting sound in the NS Dash 9 Dummy [one with the smoke, directional lighting and electrocouplers].  I think a sound kit will plug right in.  Chat later.

 Hello all,

'T was a wonderful week. warm days and cold nights. The snowohio is melting slowly. Only about 8" left where it wasn't drifted.

Brutus, Great news

Both grand kids have the crud. Probably won't get to see them this weekend.

Took my parents, kids and grand kids out Monday evening to celebrate my folks 64th wedding anniversary. They were pleased.

Our Parish Sea food buffet was packed this evening. I fried fish from 3:40 till 7;20. (open from 4 till 7) I'm guessing we had around 800 people.

Last year when I bought my new windows I found a company online that has system of replacement sash. You replace only the sash and the tracks they run in. ( can't remember correct word right now ) measurements are critical because of this. Their website listed Lowes and a local lumber yard as dealers. I went to the local lumber yard and asked for pricing and to confirm measurements with the company. They would get back to me. A week later I called. They still had no info. Five days later they called with pricing. It was good so I said confirm the measurement and I will place the order.

A week went by and no call. I called them. They still can't confirm measurement. Do I want to buy their brand for more money?  I went to Lowe's. While i was there I got a price and measurements confirmed ( they called factory while I stood there). The price was within a few dollars of local store. Long story short , local store lost $1,400.00 sale due to lack of effort.

Not much planned this weekend. Going to try to finish some inside stuff.

Altoona Train Show next weekend

Back sore, going to bed soon.

Prayers to all who may need them

Sunny and about 50 today.  30% chance of rain forcast for the weekend - figures.

Busy week at work.  We've got some politics simmering just under the surface there.  Those always up the stress level a knotch or two.

Upstairs to the trains for some therapy.

Later all.

Watching TV.  Physical therapy went well.  I ache a little.  Therapist looked good today. She makes it fun.

I fell and hit my head real hard on the floor.  You can tell by the following sentence:

Buckeye is at his lake house this weekend. Planting a garden.

My wooden nose will soon catch up with Jon E's.

See ya later

Smilehello guys, please humor me and let me vent.  my grandson(6 months old) still has not gotten his social security number and so my kids are unable to submit their taxes.  they have gotten a run around from the hospital who was supposed to notify a state office, who was supposed to notify a federal office etc.  etc.  and no one wants to claim responsibility.  well one thing that i learned in the service...not to wait for nothing and when incompetence becomes obvious it is time to light someone up.  i am just waiting for permission from my son and i will call congressman don manzullo(r) illinois and i know he will help.  he is one politician who cares about the people in his constituency.  they need their income tax  overpayment and what they are told should only take two months, has taken six months already.  a government worker somewhere is looking forward to getting their paycheck, who did not earn it. all this talk of violence makes my pupils dialated....take care guys and all of you have a great weekend.  navyjack

As to sending the Chief some of my top grade manure, I am not sure he could handle that large a tomato.

Hey, just send him to one of the Ablemarle County meetings on how they're gonna make up the $4 million shortfall in their budget.  That'll grow him some big 'maters!

Some of that top grade political manure? Yes, we have that here in Culpeper too!Dunce

Speaking of tomatoes, I usually have them up and growing by now.  Usually have a couple already blooming in big pots.  Behind my time.  Just getting seeds started this morning and afternoon.  Got to go to Town Hall for meeting.  Tractor is about ready [had it taken to dealership for brakes on both sides and tune up, usually I do the tune up but it was going there anyway. could do brakes but tires full of antifreeze so they are heavy].   Got to go.  Later.

Jim, that tomato juice remedy for skunks is all I know about too as Doug suggested.  It would take a lot of it to dunk an automobile in it however.  Maybe you could just spray the underside of the car with some kind of cover up scent until the skunk wears off.

Good Afternoon, Ya'll, From Clearing Taxachusetts,

Had some overnight high tides and 9-12 foot wave heights as the winds continued off the water.  Coastline took the hit.....beach erosion.  A real problem for those on the water.  Another inch of snow, but temps are already approaching 40 now, and 50s forecast for the weekend.  Daylight savings time switch soon.  As Dennis will point out, there is a spike in heart attacks every time we turn the clocks ahead and lose an hour of sleep.  Corn liquor is not a preventative.

Brutus.....it was great to receive more good news from you, without interruption.  Prayers continue.  Figure you are a tad behind on the honey do list, repercussions to follow.  Big Smile

8N....."busy is good."  You've got that right.

DougM and Steve......pretty sure out-of-pocket, non-reimbursed are tax deductible.  But reimbursed is the problem.  In the past some companies would get billed direct, pay on behalf of the employee, and book as a company expense; no tax impact on the employee.  But I think the IRS may have turned down the screws on that.  Employee reimbursed expenses were taxable to the employee and showed up on the individual's W2, employee responsible for paying income taxes on reimbursement checks received as they are considered income.  Go figure.  Some companies are understanding and subsequently reimburse employee for the tax liability.  Not sure what the current tax code is, why I recommended hiring a tax expert.

JimT.....I hit a few skunks in my time, both alive and road kill.  Never figured out how to mitigate the smell other than car washes, the ones that hit the undercarriage.  Took some time for the odor to dissipate.  The Southern boys are probably a better source for a solution because they actually eat such road kill along with their grits, then make hats out of the critters' hides.  Wink

OleTimer......what?  No sour mash?  I suspect the stills are heavily guarded and their defenses are impenetrable.  May have to temporarily bypass your place during the main assault.  Smile,Wink, & Grin

Chuck.....we figured you would be marketing and distributing some of your videotaped PT.  "The Best of Blueberry Hill."    Laugh

navyjack.....politicians keep pushing for more gun legislation.  Why don't they enforce the laws already there?  Over a decade ago Illinois pols passed what was know as "class X felony" for crimes committed with firearms, automatic 10 years, not at the judges' discretion.  What became of that?

Spanky.....hang in there, the gift will mean just that much more if it's "giving" is not diluted by all of the other gifts on the actual occasion.

Lee and Rich.....heard yesterday's highs around Tampa were 20 degrees below normal.  We get that all the time up our way.  When the temps dip below zero, sometimes 30 degrees below normal.....  Difference is, it ain't sweater weather.  Heated seats are becoming a more and more common option on cars.  Heated steering wheels and washer fluid too.

MikeC.....was glad to hear Lucas is on the back end of this mend.  Hard to keep a lid on the kids at that age.

Chief.....stop screwing around with those disruptive mayoral duties and get back to tending the first tomato crop.  I am waiting for mine.  Re Lucy walking all over you while you are reclinerizing, have you considered wearing an athletic cup?  Pat.....send him some top grade Lawson manure.

Dennis......are tomatoes (Chief) and rye whiskey (OleTimer) two of the major food groups permissable in your diet?

Laz......hope you consulted 'the sawmaster," Brent, before you embarked on this demo and disposal project.  He posesses valuable insight into how to avoid a medical detour.  Having the wifey close by but at a safe distance to call 911 is his first dictum.

SJ......could it possibly be too early to prep the snowblowers for a long summer's nap and conduct the necessary tune/oil change/blade sharpening of the lawn mowing equipment?  I see dormant grass here.  How about you?

Later, gang

Jack

Good morning everyone.  Trying to get over some kind of crud.  Started yesterday while on bypass.  Came home and took some NyQuil.  Slept till dinner, ate some grits, more NyQuil and then back to sleep till morning.  Hope I am over it but we shall see.

Brutus, glad things went well with Char.  Hope that she continues to progress and continue to turn for the better...to God be the glory.

Mike, Glad Lucas is on the mend.  When they have been through such life threatening scenarios, any severe illness is too much.  You and your family are truly blessed.

Jim.....I believe Jack is correct, corn liquor must be the cause.  I don't think I want to do that nine days thing for the Chief.  We have been working him over for the last six years and he has not gotten any nicer.  You don't suppose we need to do it for nine years, do you?

Chuck.....Have you gotten the HOTOHIO fan fixed yet for another unbearable summer for NC, VA and MD?

UH OH ..... those darn yankees are gearin up for summer ..... I'll have to get the ice house full and the warehouse of Mint Julip mix distibuted to my fellow rebs . Chief ... put the reserves on alert ... Grumpy

Pat .... looks like they're not wasteing any time .... have you got the calvary ready ?  Cowboy

Navyjack ... you can outflank them from the north .... they won't know it's coming .... they'll be caught in between .  Black Eye
