Good afternoon all

Just a quick check in during lunch.  It has been a busy morning and gone by fast.

Jim - Can you try to reform the piece without taking it apart?  I'd think if it flex in one direction it may bend back.  If you are going to strip it down, you don't have much to loose.

Chuck - Glad you are doing better.

Glad to see folks are getting home safe.

May God bless

Jim

Hard to believe there is only one more day left this year.

I will be taking the family north tonight and ringing in the new year from our cabin.  Hopefully roads will be kind as I travel north.

I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2010!!!!!!!!!

About 32 and snow flurries today.  Got 3" last night that will need to be shoveled.

Gone for a week and find 13 pages of the Pot to catch up on.  Wow.

RT - condolances for the loss of your friend.

Diners, Cafes, whatever.  We have a couple here in town that we frequent.  Also found one in Momence, Ill. that we make it a point to stop at when we travel through.  It got two visits from us this last week.  Great barley soup.

We managed to miss the weather as we were traveling, save for some flurries Sunday night around Grand Rapids and some blowing snow on I-55 on Monday between Kankakee and Champlain.  Neither was too difficult, but we kept running across drivers who made the situation difficult for everybody else.

Whoever sent out the 'Silent Monks sing the Halliua Chorus' video clip, it was a big hit at the in-laws Christmas.  Had everybody gathered around the computer laughing their heads off.

The only train related item I got for Christmas this year was a copy of the 2010 Greenburg's pocket price guide.  It has two sets of about 20 pages, so it is missing about 20 pages.  I'll have to do some corresponding with our favorite publisher to get it straightened out.

Time for lunch, get some glass cut, buy a new battery for the truck,  shovel the walks, try to figure out why the wireless got shut off on my wife's lap top, call the satelite TV provider, call Netflix to figure out how to get two gift accounts daisy chained, etc, etc.

Later all.

Jim,

I was able to support the bottom of the platform and bring the grommeted tip back into position within the fence. The best thing was that no disassembly was needed. My next project got here today. More on that shortly.

Fife - I think I missed something here.  What am I supposed to trade with Buckeye? Misnowurri for Snowzhio?

Got most of my list done.  I've got this week off, so I am practicing being retired - kind of like Chief.

Jim, glad you were able to get it back in place.  I take possessions a little light I guess.  I had a original copy of the operator's manual for the GG1 from PRR that an engineer who operated one gave me.... when my mother was cleaning out the garage, she threw it away!  I also had a map of the NJ/NY railroads that was very old from one of the yard towers...she threw that away as well.  While it all meant a lot to me, Mom meant a whole lot more, and I am glad that I didn't get too upset over it.

Fife, sorry I didn't shout out.  We were on a mission to get there and back.  Traffic was so bad on the 23rd/24th, that it took an extra 3 hours of driving.  Seemed all the delay was between DC and NYC.  Perhaps if I had called and got a police escort, perhaps you could have gotten me there in a timely fashion!  We are hoping to do a DC trip in the spring.  Perhaps we can do a Roanoke side trip?  I have some friends who are retired cops in the Delaware area that would like to visit DC also.

Well, it was a long day back at work.  Not long in time, just seemed that way as I was very tired.  All went well, but it just wore me out.  I did get the CTT when we got back, but have only made it to the Trainworld add.  I understand there are some great photos and layouts to check out!  Also stopped by the book store to pick up Stephen Hunter's latest book and some train magazines.  I'll report when I get through them.  Also ordered a Mark 1 video copy of the NYC West Shore Line video.  This is the one that shows the tracks right down the hill from where I grew up.  Looking forward to watching it, though I have seen most of it on RFD, I know that they don't show the whole program.

God Bless,
Dennis

 Evening!

Was up to 63 today and sunny!  I didn't go to Orlando, SWMBO had different ideas.  Got a phone call from the Princess yesterday, having a bad time and wanted to come home.  Not gonna happen per the tour company.  We ahd a long conversation and she will soldier on.  No word today, I pray that all goes well until her return.

Looks like home again for the New Year, The CinC has deemed it so.

Glad everyone is doing well, I finally sent out the rest of the LGB and still have a few more pieces to sell, then more of the O gauge stuff.  Will try to list it tomorrow.

KoolJock - nice family and splendid write up and layout.  You had me at T1, of course....

Well, I'm gonna do some layout/engine work, soooo see ya in a few!

HI GUYZ,

Well didn't get above 29 today.  Went hunting for deer with flintlock and neighbor again.  Neighbor shot at 455 and missed?  We looked till 530 with flashlights, no blood.  So were going back out early to check again.  Hopefully storm holds off.  He says that maybe he hit but we coudn't find blood got to dark so have to check in morning.  I didn't see anything but was a nice cold day to sit in woods.

  Stay frosty,

Well, it snowed all day, but not much stuck at home - downtown it stuck pretty good on the grass etc, but roads were mostly okay.  Took off an hour and a half this AM to go to a wake for my Bro-in-Law's grandma.  Then, about 2:30 my wife called and said her tire was flat and everyone went home already.  So, I talked to the boss and took off to run home and get the small compressor.  I figured it was a slow leak so whatever she ran over must still be in the tire.  I filled up the tank at home, took it to the van and got the tire filled up enough that she could drive on it - about 3/4ths full - before the tank went "dry".  I followed her over to the garage and they fixed it while she waited.  Got a new TCA magazine and reading the CTT now - yep, KOOL layout!  Love it!

Good evening all,

It is cloudy and slightly warmer in SE Indiana with Snohio on the way.  It was another good day.  Started last night with me starting and finishing a LEGO project.  Surprised me how quickly it went.  Got the muffler fixed on Lucas' car and the "saucy wench" and I went to see "Sherlock Holmes" this afternoon.  It was much better than the previews.  It hewed more closely to the original flavor than I thought it would.  Robert Downey, Jr. is no Jeremy Brett, but he does a serviceable job.  We also went to see a family friend who is town and I went to the YMCA for the last time this year (closed tomorrow).  I did soccer drills (12 touches), weights and 1 mile on the treadmill.  It was a good day.  I had the regular fare on the dining car before sending it on to "Points East".  TBIL.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

The end of the year is approaching.

Chuck....Keep at it buddy!!!

Jim....I'm happy that your gondola is safe and sound in Southern Ohio.  My rare and expensive "I Love Ohio" is destined to arrive any day now. I can't wait to see what is inside.

Jon...Really liked the photos of your layout in CTT.  Great job!!! Great looking family, too!!

Doug....Expect to see some scarlet and gray at the museum this week.  Everyone is out in Pasadena except me. I stayed home so I could shovel snow.

88 ....  Did you know I have a GP 30 #6945 with dummy?  I think it is on one of my videos.  It is a show stopper with those great Chessie colors.

Back on the 'scope after a mere 1 1/2 hours at home. These fly-by-night trips on my weeks off can be a bit demanding but it was good. Pretty tired right now, but we are closed for weather.

Trip home on the train was fun, but we got delayed a bit due to mechanical issues. They kept losing electrical power on one of the engines. My Lionel Modern Catalog (1970 - 2000) got perused by a few folks on the train and we chatted it up. I think both the new cars made it back ok in the seabag.

Finally remembered to bring the Brasso so I can finish up the #258 this week. May get a chance to clean and lube the 1615 and the FA as well, and keep chasing after more 1122's as well.

Heat Wave!  26 Here in downtown Burlington, VT this morning.  Last night I hung my framed Lionel 30 RockStore sign in the trainroom, got one of my Z-Stuff Semaphores working again, and got almost caught up on Dr. Who episodes.  One left to go!

Now I'm just playing records on the radio...

Mornin' boys.  SNSadHIZSad in the Mid-Atlantic region.  A whole inch.  I shall endeavor to clean the driveway, the car, and a path for wifey, as she has to work this AM.  Good thing I have a new handheld GPS, so that I won't get lost in case of a white-out.

Ole Timer - Geatz's is very unassuming on the outside, with its two-story brick facade.  Inside, it is very nice.  Bar side has a Cheers appeal, and banquet side is very cozy.  Always good food.  And it's a block away from the beginning of the B&O's West End.

Buckeye - Sir, I have picked up the gauntlet. Pirate

dbaker - I'd rather have Ol' Mils than Blue Moon. Dead

So be it. Blindfold

Freezing rain today.   I might send some to the Chief just for the fun of watching the old boy slip and slide as he chases the beavers from the pond.

Morning all

Snow rain combo this morning but not slick in Southern Ohio.  Just renewed the CTT subscription for 2 years.  Going to try and get some paint on the crossings I started refinishing.  I think I found some spray paint that matches the AF light green.  Spray is easier than using the air brush and the green paint RT sent me a year or so ago.  We have services at 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. Friday for the Holy Day to prep for.

Be careful out there today and tonight.

MAy God bless

HI GUYZ,

26 and snowy here today.  Got up and neighbor already left to check on deer to see if he hit it or not.  I'll wait to see what happens.  Snowy weather could put damper on hunting today, gun won't go off.

Stay frosty,

HEY GUYZ,

Question, does anyone have a tally on how many pages, for the year, the COFFEE POT has amassed?  Just curious?
