Merry Christmas guys. I got the Super Motor swapped into the 332, and the difference is incredible. I tested it using a litle 4B transformer, and I am scared to try WOT.Big Smile If I used a ZW, the 332 would probably land in Ohio somewhere. The 342AC runs, but it is sluggish.

Jim - that AF stuff sure sounds sweet to me :)

Merry Christmas everyone!  Roast is cooking, kids are playing and reading, White Christmas is on the big screen, and Chewy is stretched out on top of Mommy, worn out from playing with her new toys too - perfect!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Merry Christmas!  I think I did ok reading from the stage at the church services and then working cameras. Glad to be home this morn. We hosted some Okies who work at church who were stuck here for dinner.  The TV went out late last night as I was wrapping gifts. On a lark, I called ATT, got through to Malaysia or whereever I was calling, and made an appointment for a tech to visit today - ha ha. Lo and behold, they showed up at 10 am and some new hardware later, everything works. It's a Christmas miracle.

Sure is fun having a youngster looking for reindeer on norad's website last night.

Watching A Christmas Story for the umpteenth time on TBS. Everyone seemed to like their gifts. I enjoyed unwrapping the Hornby rolling stock I bought myself a few months ago, and a surprise, a new ukulele I'd like to learn to play.

Kurt, Red Wing Shoes just opened a retail store a few blocks away. It would make a great Miller Engineering sign.

Brutus, sorry to hear about your dad. We're steeling ourselves to visit our inlaws - first time in years. May you each enjoy the true blessings of this day.

All in all very good christmas but lowes and i are going to have a talk come monday ordered and payed for 2 skil sets which included a drill, jigsaw, palm sander, and flashlight and it had charger and one battery well when opened it up as christmas gift guess what only one in the box well if they can't find me another new in box they can have this one back too as bought the second as it was like $10.00 more than the battery alone so figure why not it would give me a back up of everything and my second battery.

Wife did find me a Columbia, Newberry, and Laurens boxcar which is this area it was a lionel LCCA Convention car July 27-30 1989. Smile

got some clothes other than that thats about it hope all had a good christmas

Brutus,

AF is addictive for sure. I used to be into PW Lionel and frequently said "Gilbert is garbage". But, once I started getting more into AF, I haven't looked back and I am enjoying every minute of it.  I didn't even look at PW Lionel at the last show.

I am currently hiding in my room due to the amount of family in the kitchen. It is a little too noisy for me. I will test my new digital camera later.  I also learned that you can't drink all beverages like soda earlier today.Sign - Oops  Never want to do that again.  Finally back to normal now. I haven't had a chance to troubleshoot the 342AC yet, but I am suspecting that the harness is at fault.

Good evening all,

Merry Christmas to all!  It was cloudy and mild in the morning, but the temps dropped thru the day.  I had streusel on the dining car for breakfast before sending it on to "Points East".  We had the entire side of my family down at our place today.  Everybody had plenty to eat, and I think everybody had a good time.  Oldest daughter announced they are expecting number three next summer.  Not much else going on.  TBIL and I can drive.  We did a good job of avoiding Santa's sleigh last night.  BTW, 7:30 Mass was NOT full last night, which really surprised me.  I hope everyone has and had a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Hello all,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't read the POT in a few days but I wanted to wish every body a Merry Christmas.

I had a really good Christmas.

Put our  tree up yesterday and picked up a couple of last minute gifts at WalMart.

Went to Midnight Mass,

This morning was lazy.

This afternoon Mrs roasted a small Turkey and made stuffing and we wrapped gifts.

This evening the Family gathered at my daughters house for Christmas Dinner and gift exchange. A wonderful time was had by all. I truly am blessed to have a great family.

Well I 've had a full day. I'm going to hit a few highlights on the forum and join my lovely Mrs in bed.

Prayers for all who may need them

Buckeye - Too Funny!

Mike - BIG CONGRATS GRANDPA!

Talked with SJ a little this morning and some this evening too - good train talk.

Tardis is ready and I have leftover pumpkin or apple pies, probably enough for everyone - let's go!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Buckeye, Is it coal or just immature diamonds ?

What a great day today !  Daughter & sil and the grandson, light of our life, plus just a few old friends, extended family Approve, all gathered round the table. It don't get much better than that. Thumbs Up

First load in dishwasher and leftovers containerized and in the fridge, now it's time to listen to some "Country Christmas" while surfing.

Nite all and may God Bless.

Glad to hear that, Brutus. We celebrated AwkwardChristmas with our inlaws and everyone behaved. Nothing happened that a few more watchings of A Christmas Story will cure. Will get those photos. The Hornby cars are beautiful.

Evenin' Fellas.

Well another Christmas, and soon to be Year, has come and gone. We had 17 at our house for Christmas dinner this year, seems we have a few new faces every few years, although not the ones so desperately desired by The Q and myself. We all had a wonderful time. I received a new C&O 4-6-0 yesterday and have yet to have time to get it on the layout, sure is a beut, but will look very odd pulling any of my freight as the paint scheme looks like it was meant for passenger service? The Q surprised me with a Cowen's Corner Hobby Store (the one with the three operating layouts), this is one of the nicest accessories available (IMHO). It was also a huge hit with the visitors, both young and old. I also received the Vision Line PRR Operating Stockcar. This sounds like a really neat car, but when I put it on the track nothing happened, so I think I need to do some playing around with it.

I found today that there is a problem with the track wiring for the layout so my #1 goal over the next few months is to rewire the track wiring (the way I originally had planned). I think I have something crossed somewhere so it is just a matter of marking the power drops, then removing the temporary feeds, installing the power distribution blocks, and then wiring it all up.

Hope everyone had a safe and blessed Merry Christmas.

Jim T, great job with camera.  Poor Buckeye.

Its over here until next year.  Had a restful one today but a happy one.  Was going to the lake but was late getting away from MIL's.  Raining real hard too.  Going Sunday right after Sunday School for one night.  Will be a little dryer.

Good night all.

Mornin' boys.  A miserable wet 48 degrees in the Mid-Atlantic region.  I think I prefered the snow...  On vacation 'til the 4th.

Really had a pleasant Christmas.  My family chipped in and got me a Colorado handheld GPS (has chartfinder for waterways).  My mom took care of me on the train front, giving me the LEMAX Woodland Retreat and the Montego Vineyard.  Both will occupy the Helmstetters Curve portion of the original layout.  Highlight of the evening was the toast given by my beautiful wife, who dedicated the evening to my mother (who is battling cancer...again).  I plan on taking wifey to West-by-God-Virginia for a little much-needed retreat.

Morning.  Where are all the Yankees?  Hiding in their huts from the cold and snohio.  Fifey, prayer for your Mom.  Glad to see you got some good Santa gifts.  You've been a good boy this year [unlike your buddy Buckeye].

Foggy and damp but real warm.  Suppose to go into the middle 60's.  Stay warm for af ew before those Yankee winds drop it back into the 40's for most of next week.

Had a great "heart unhealthy" breakfast.  Salty side meat type bacon and eggs.  Toast with cherry preserves.  Plenty of coffee to wake me up.

Have good one [off to Miss Edna's in a few].

Good Morning all Jim - Great job on the 332. How does the 342 do on the bench, then on the bench with a jumper harness instead of the tender? Buckeye - Maybe next year. I am going to work on a swing set we got the kids. The kids are at the other grandparents today so I may get it done. I'll check back later. May God bless Jim

A week off? Now is a good time to invade Maryland.Whistling and then on to Ohio

Hadn't had a chance to read the CTT, let alone get to the last page. Way to go Chief.

One of my better Christmas gifts was a boxed set of 24 DVD's of "TRAINS, A complete Motion Picture Library". 30 hours of great watching. Excellent filming and lots of history.

One of the best so far is the development and use of the Rotery Snow Plow. Includes a film documentation of a  10 day stranding of the plow train and its 8 man crew. Great stuf!
