Morning all!

Welcome PapaDiesel, and underworld!  I'm just down the street!

Doug:  Thanks!  Can't wait to see the car!  I have a few more to take of the OH car before i send it forward.

Library with the girls today.  4-yo has been asking to learn to read.  We spent some time with word books yesterday, so today is something to read!  not that we don't have books here...Whatever works I guess.

Planning on attending Chili cook off at local HD dealer next weekend... Kids are excited about the games and face painting.

Evening All !

Papadiesel Welcome, You and Underworld may be interested in what I found out today.  Rumor has it that the Betty Ford Hospital in Palm Springs is opening up a new addiction treatment wing.  They sent me an invitation, it is dedicated to "O Scale" enthusiasts.

Yesterday I posted a picture of the new Tomato Bank, that opened, today I was on the way to the Dr office for a blood test.  On the way passed this one "Capute Animal Hospital" !  Don't know how good they are, but at least they have a sense of humor.

I had the El Camino checked out yesterday due to significant gas smell, especially after turning it off.  Ends up the carburator is leaking.  So have a rebuilt one coming in next week.  Should help gas milage too!

Went over to a friends house last night to help him get DCS/TMCC/Legacy working together.  Had success!  He needed one cable, which is on order as of today, loaned him mine tell he gets his.  Now he is able to run all 3 systems independantly or in unison.  Also, can run and controll ALL engines with just the DCS is controller if so desired.   As we were wrapping up this BIG old cat, must have been 25 lbs, comes into the room gets up on a chair then onto the layout.  The cat walks around and all over the layout.  Then circles in an area and plops down on two switches and 3 sections of track.  Now there are accessories all over and lots of detail.  Now IF it would have been me, I would have cranked up the voltage on the track and made sure the cat had a memorable moment.  So as we leave the room he just shut off all the lights, leaving the room dark and the cat in the middle of the layout.  I was astonished!

During my rounds y'day, stopped at a train store I don't frequent very often.  Good store, and good guy, just not convienant.  We had a enjoyable conversation, he was telling me about the number of people trying to sell off trains, LOTS !  Really depressing the resale market, also he had asked me what I was running, and when I told him I have the 3 systems running together, he said I am only the 2nd person he knew of that was able to do that.  I was really surprised with that statement.  Oh well.

Spent most of day working on price lists, and flyer designs.  Got to get product ready for shows this weekend, tomorrow.

Good news on your involvement at Cal Stewart Ray, hopefully I will see you there!

So take care all, hopethe truck situation works itself out.

Later

Busy week up at the scope, but at least we got some stuff done. Spent most of the day between doctor's visits and the diabetic class. The doc was my annual dermatologist visit. Like I needed another doctor's visit. Tomorrow the podiatrist. Be glad when this settles down.

Brent - when in construction school for the Navy they showed us a drywall lift. They said play w/ it, enjoy it, but don't get used to it, you'll never see one again. Spent some time holding ceiling drywall w/ my hardhat or a 2 X 4 while trying to nail up (not screws in those days)  Fun.

Dennis - I got your message but haven't had time to reply. They just stopped covering Prilosec as of today, but we'll see what happens in the long run. Need to consult w/ both my doc and gastroenterologist.

Got a bottle of Anormal smoke fluid in the mail when I got home. Looking forward to smoking up the living room.

Thoughts and prayers for those in need

Good Evening,

I have been reading your conversations for a few month. Thought I'd say HI. I'm having some issues after being laid off from a large computer company. The good news is that I am able to get some Social Security. The better news is that I can run my newly purchased NS Oil Can set. Wish I could afford to purchase the remaining set at my dealers. Need a job to support my train addiction. The best thing is that the wekends are  free for the grandchildren's (seven, 6-8yrs old and 1 more in Jan) soccer and flag football games. Well make it a good month.

Oh what a day!  Lots of big cases, through in an emergency and a couple of annoyances, and end it with some bad news.....Well, at least the family is doing well.  Just got off the phone with one of my friends out in Colorado.  The cabin where we go Elk hunting burned down.  Was a lightning strike, but at least no one was hurt.  I have to make a list of my belongings that were there, and gather some photos.

RT, and anyone else using a C-PAP, if it has a vaporizer, make sure you put a heat barrier under the unit or it will warp the top of your nightstand.  Ask me how I know this.  Anyway, I have a piece of ceramic tile with some backing on it to protect the wood surface.  Also, you get used to the mask.  There are several styles.  You can have the full mask that covers both nose and mouth.  Next is the style that just covers the nose.  And lastly, we have the nose piece that actually has two protrusions that go into the nostrils.  I go for the nose mask.  Oh, and make sure you use distilled water as other water will cause deposits to make the unit not last as long.

Absolutely no train work done today.  Was handling too much with work and by the time I got home, family was heading to bed and I am soon to follow.  I did however take a few moments to purchase a Miller Engineering New York Central Railroad sign.  I was going to also get a theater sign, but may go for the whole building from OGR.  We shall see.

God Bless,
Dennis

Pat

See I was trying to be nice as 6 months ago this truck ended up at my place with a note saying heres your truck thanks and I couldn't make out who signed it. Called the state boys and they said we'll just leave it here till someone calls about it. Then we'll see about getting it back to them as it looks like it belongs to a good Ole boy from the south. And you threaten me with a sorry looking rat thats trying to look vicious.

Afternoon all, today has been a better day.  Yesterday I was so mad I could have eaten nails over an engine repair problem but it looks like it is being resolved now so I can scrape myself off the ceiling.  Had a nice talk with our fearless leader, the mayor of Roseville this afternoon on the phone.  Got an invitation today to help run the DCS demonstration layout at our upcoming Cal Stewart Train Meet in Pasadena in November.  This is the biggest train meet we have on the West Coast and it is nice for me since I am not able to attend York this year.  The meet will be held in the newly renovated Pasadena Convention Center which I hear is very nice.  We had been in temporary quarters for the last couple of years.  May have the guys over tonight if there is any interest but have not heard from them yet.  Talk to y'all later,

Ray

Afternoon all.  At Town Hall.  Had to write a letter to the CEO of Verison about the sorry service after they took over Alltel.  I am an Alltel customer [well, was] and do not have problems like the old Verison customers are having.  Funny, the ones tha thad the service originally are the ones that have dropped calls and echoes.  You would think it would have been the old Alltel customers.

Jim, good luck on the test.  Hope you "aced" it.

SPANK!!!!  Glad to see you back.  Hope all is OK.

Now to call Shake and Bake.  Everytime he called today, was in a meeting and could not answer.  I think he sees my schedule on the forum and then calls when he knows I am busy. Laugh

Chat later.  [guess I'm going to the lake tomorrow]

PS: don't mess with my buddy Pat.  He guards that border real well. Evil

Aloha Oktober! Wow, just getting to 'work' now. Sat in on a staff mtg. at church, went to Ace Hardware to get a water heater cover and touch up paint for the house, took pastor to lunch. Sounds like one of the Chief's mornings Big Smile

Oh, and the B&O hopper was picked up off the interchange track today on its way to Kurt in Michigan!

Pat,

       LOL @ the left comment.

Brutus,

I saw that you were on Live last night while I was playing the Forza 3 demo. I would have sent a chat request, but I had a bit of a rough day yesterday.

Not much going on today. I had a test in Economics this morning, and I have to work tonight. I might get some work done on the layout while I wait. On the bright side, October 1st means that there only 26 more days until Forza 3 is released.Yeah!!

I forgot to mention the other night that I bought two red Flyer 650 New Haven passenger cars for a good price on ebay. So, now I have a red 718 mail car and three red 650s to put behind it. Should look good on the Christmas layout this year.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful, sunny day. 60 degrees. It got cold last night. Went down to 37. Looks like it will be sunny all day and 70 degrees.

Today is a busy day. It is the 1st of October, already. Lots of paperwork to do today and errands to run. No train time.

Dining car arrived from "Points West" and we had the usual for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Was 60 this AM when I left and I love it!!  Unfortunately, this will end in a few days and back up to the 80's again with Humidity...that sucks.

I made hamburgers and fries last night, watched the NHL Eastern Confernece preview before Zonking out at 930.
