Hello all.
Stopped in for a quick cup.
Finally got caught up on the Pot
Camper and beach stuff all put away.
Did some "Paint swapping" myself last week. Had a fender bender to the tune of two grand last week on Rt 1 in Rehobeth. I thought it was only a couple of hundred. Can't even tell there is a dent from over 50 feet away.
Trying to keep weeds and fungus at bay in the garden.
Need to build a new trellis for Trumpet Vine, wind got the old one
Washed tractor to get ready to run Hayride at church festival this weekend.
Not much time for trains
Prayers to all who need them

submmbob Just watching a thunderstorm roll thru town tonight. No rain here, but the lightning was interesting to watch. Got just over half of the outlets installed and identified most of the circuits on the breaker panel (wasn't labeled). As would be expected for a 50+ yr old house, there was some interesting circuitry. Back tomorrow to finish up. Have to try and retap one outlet box for the next larger size machine screw. The guys working on the bathrooms and kitchen are doing a great job. House looks totally different than when we started working on it before the first interim. Should be in good shape for the second interim and whenever we do call a new rector. My house is 70 years old. Lucky it was wired with BX cable. The outer flex cable is the third wire [ground]. We rewired and added lots of circuits. Installed 250 AMP pannel. We bonded all the outer cables and everything checks OK for ground. Replaced the old outlets with ones with equipment ground. Bonded then to the metal boxes so got good grounds. Takes some time but it is worth it. Chief - I've heard in the Episcopal Church (Yes, I know, that's very Yankee) that wherever there are 4 or more of us there will be a fifth... Why do you think Episcopal is Yankee. In Tidewater VA and Eastern NC, there were [and still are] Episcopal Churches in every little town and some in only communities. I had an Uncle to was an Episcopal minister. My Grandparents were Episcopal. The Eagles family were all Episcopal until after the WWII. Some left and started a Baptist Church. Dad changed as Mom was Baptist. So, I grew up in both. Dennis - They've done a couple more tests (a real fun one yesterday) and nothing has shown up yet. Still haven't heard about the lab work. Sometimes it takes my doc's office a while on this. If nothing else I will see my doc on Friday. The more I read the less diabetic I sound. Still on the diet until we know different though. At this point I'm just trying to carry on. I can feel whatever this is often when I am doing stuff. I either just slow down or take a break for a bit. Will see what the doc thinks about me going back to the mountain for a least limited duty. Several people have asked whether they thought this was a food allergy of some kind. Has been bantered around, but given the symptoms and no commonality in what seems to set me off the thought is no. I think now I may have a food allergy, I'm just plain allergic to food! Doesn't always happen just after I eat though, so I dunno. Right now will just wait to see the final results of the tests so far and talk to my doc on Friday and see where we go from here. 1.1 inches in 30 minutes. Rained out National Night Out. Having it next Wednesday. Needed the rain. Will have to mow before going to the lake tomorrow. Lucy went to the vet and got shots. She was a good girl. WE went to Texas Steakhouse for dinner. With $5 tip, bill was $30. Both had salad, steak and potato. Tueday is seniors discount night. 15% of so gave waitress a good tip. BTW: Roseyville is moving up. Approved a Bojangles last night. Start building in less than 60 days. Liquor store [State controlled and run by County] is now being built. Reminds me of a joke the President of our Mayors' Assoc. told a group. "We meet monthly and all have a beer, wine or a cocktail." "We have one Catholic Mayor." "He always says the blessing before the meal." "That is because he can bless the food and the drink." Then he said, "Not to pick on the Catholics, us Baptists act as if we do not recognize each other while in the liquor store."
Later.
Got sucked into a conversation on Facebook about AC's and didn't get to post last night. My wife's appointment yesterday went well. Her hematocrit is like 25? Hemoglobin was 8.4, which is pretty good for her
Dennis - yes, the biggest problems for computers come from downloads and games, I agree totally. We have 3 laptops, a desktop and a netbook. Unfortunately, the other bane for computers is updates from Microsoft that then require updates!
Brent - OMG! I'm so thankful that Suzie is OK! That is scary man!
Played around with Thomas tonight - put a resistor in-line in a wire and tapped that to the whistle board. Redid the tether with more flexible wire. Just tested it and no whistle? Drat! Double Drat! Oh wait - there is a whistle switch on this. I turned the whistle on and voila! Played around for a little while, but had a pile up with the A5! No problems with it though. Just put it back on the track and reset the breaker on the Z1000
Next time, I'll open Thomas up again and solder all the wire connections and seal with some of the shrink tubing I bought. Then I'll think about covering the insides of the windows on Annie and whether I want to put lights in her? Anybody know of any tiny little 2 wire harness type connectors?
Beacons are on the screen and I want to take a turn driving, so let's get going? Need to stop dumping the "waste accumulator" over a certain lawn, I guess? Sounds like we are having an effect! Too much rootbeer I guess
Prayers for all!
Evening all,
Hope the Chief stays South for a couple of days, we don't need any rain for a few days.
Spent the day as a volunteer at the RR Museum of PA today. Met a bunch of interesting folks and answered a lot of questions, some were even rail related. And I learned a few things myself.
Good Evening
Another sunny day in the 80s.
Well we went to the store(s) so I got my walk but did next to nothing after that. Weather Channel has been showing Louisville all day and now it looks like it's heading for Nashville. And here we are really needing some rain but I don't want that much. Banilla is ready, Brutus blow the horn, I'll wait inside tonite. ...S.J.

Went back and read the last four pages of the prior "Coffee Pot". Lots been happening. Bob, hope all is going well. Brutus has some good advice regarding getting your medical records. Also a good idea to look over them and make sure the charges are consistent with the care rendered.
John Baker, glad to see you back here. I have been thinking about you and your limited space for trains. Have seen a few ideas that folks have come up with to still have a layout with minimal space requirements. One of the best is a fold up layout that has hinges and is mounted to a wall. Another is for a roll away layout under a bed.
Fife, was thinking about you while on the fishing journey. The folks who hosted us had a nice place on a canal right off the beach. 5th house from the inlet. Though, I doubt a sail boat would do well with the shallow draft.
Well, got four computers up and running now. Plan is to consolidate to two main ones (one laptop and the desk top), and then have the other two for the kids and their games. I have found that games and music downloads bring lots of trouble to a computer.
Hope everyone has a great week ahead.

LawsonFarms - I gotta wonder if the 00 and 47 were all choked up as well...
Fifedog - I can't figure out what you are getting at. Are you saying 00 and 47 have the same personal tragedy? And what does the black eyes mean? Here is a quote from Danny about his 91 year old grandmother after the race:
"Up until a few weeks ago, she lost her sight totally," Hamlin said. "She couldn't hear very well, she couldn't see very well. She had a 30-inch TV that she sat about four inches from. That's how she could see me, and see my car and everything. She had a FedEx No. 11 bear and always wore her No. 11 socks. She always told me that she put out a prayer to St. Jude for us every weekend.
"... I think today, she's pretty proud."
Does that relate to the 00 and 47 some how?
Aloha again. So the Chief is Rain-Man. I wonder if he was near Louisville today. Greetings from my class lab where I'm checking in whilst everyone works on their website. Hope you're all having a pleasant evening. I've been experimenting more with the advertising magnets - attaching them to some diecast trucks and freight vans. Most use very thin-magnets that are easily cut down - there's a lot 'out there' - lots that look pretty retro. I'll try for some photos later this week.

Everyone heard the story last week of how I could make it rain from a sunny sky. Sunday last week late, sprayed neighbor's garden and then mine. Before I could finish, big cloud came from nowhere and I get soaked. So, Thrusday of last week [when I got home from lake] sprayed neighbor's garden and mine with the remaining spray in the tank [JD pull behind sprayer]. As soon as I finished, bottom drops out. WELL TODAY, go to pond with Roundup. Spray in the hot sun with sweat running down my face. As I finish, I hear thunder but still sunny. Well, 45 minutes later we are having a massive thunderstorm and it is beating rain. Now Roundup says 2 hours. Not 45 minutes. Oh well, lets get it over with before National Night Out and hurt the PD outing. Cleaned up in the train room earlier today. Now I can walk around. Also, need to build a shelf for my two Legacy remotes. Get them off of the edge of the layout. Well, shower time so I can go to the PD event. BTW: still flooding rain.
Wow, stay away for a few days and the pot not only changes to a new one, but is six pages long! Went to Florida, the original plan was to do some Red Fishing, but with the young boys along, we decided to go for Trout and Rock Bass. Caught a bunch and had some good times with my son and our friends. Will hook up for a trip in the fall for Reds. Nothing like the taste of fresh fish.
Don, sorry I missed your big day. Hope it was special.
Wife decided she wants to do some work from home on the computor, so last night, we went out and got a new router and a HP Pavilion p6142 with the 20" monitor. I just got it set up and it is nice. Hope she enjoys it.
Not much else to report. Had a big case this morning and all went well. While I was doing it, a film crew was getting it on tape for a commercial they will be doing. They wanted my most photogenic side, but I told them there isn't one. Maybe they can use it for a horror flick.
Chief, glad to see you are holding down the fort.
Brent, I would check to see if there is a recall on those rims. I am sure that there is a web site that you can check. I also know that the guys who do that talk show "Car Talk" have spoken about where you can report such things regarding cars. As you said, thankfully she was able to keep control and be safe.
God Bless,Dennis
88 - Perhaps you can make a planter out of that rim...? Or, maybe give it to me for a spare anchor... Your next addition should have rubber walls...
Buckeye I think you need to send her a box of those candies she likes.

Well I couldn't find the air chuck to fill the bike tires (really need to get the garage organized), so I walked down to campus instead. Did OK and gave the exchange students a tour of the lab. Hope to see at least one of the student's names (Justin from Burkina Faso) on a paper about Mars hydrology someday. The test yesterday fairly well screwed my internals and spent the rest of the evening dealin'.
Brent - Amazing on that rim, and very glad that Susie is OK. Since those are cast alloys, there could have been a bubble or inclusion in the casting that caused a week spot. We hate AL rims offroad because they tend to dent and deform if you tag a rock w/ it. I like stamped steel myself (or wires for the MG), but it seems everyone uses the alloys now.
Jim S - sounds like the drain for the vent air box is clogged. Over time lots of tree litter can end up in there and it finally clogs and overflows. I've seen this several times. Once in our old squareback during a monsoon we practically had a flood inside. There is usually a flexible tube that goes from the drain on the airbox to drain the water on the ground, may even be the same one that dumps condensation for the A/C. If you pull that off you can clean it out and then poke a wire in the drain. Just don't get too aggressive as the condensor is up there. This is done from underneath. It helps if you run some more water down the wents to flush everything out.
OK, got to find some breakfast and then get over to the church. Have to replace some of the outlets in the rectory. The new interim arrives in less than two weeks. Later.

Speaking of Angle activity, did you see the interview with Denny Hamlin Monday after he won the NASCAR Cup race? His 91 Yr. old Grandmother, his biggest fan, died three days before the race. Denny did not want to be in the race, but wanted to be home with his family.
In the winners circle he took extra time getting out of his car. He needed the time to compose himself. When he did get out, he was asked what was the main factor why he won the race. His reply, in a quivering voice and tears running down his face, was "We had an Angle with us today".
I have to admit that got to me.
Reminds me of the story about the high school football player who's blind father was always in the stands when his son played. In the final game of the season, the son, who was a mediocre player, ran for 4 touchdowns and won the game. When asked what was different about this game, he replied "My father died last night and this is the first game he was able to see me play".
Here is a fittng Wise Farmer saying (a repeat):

Morning all. Nothing going on right now. Time to take Lucy to the vet for her anual checkup. Yes, we have had her one year now. Got National Night Out with PD tonight. Free hotdogs and ice cream. Everyone is invited [including the Yankees]. Expect about 2,000 or so people. Sponsored by Target. This is a nation-wide thing so check with your local PD. Got some train things to do today too. Chat later.
Brent,
That 'pothole" is equal to a freshly paved road here in PA. A pothole that small shouldn't have caused the rim to split. You should probably notify BMW directly, because it may be a casting defect with that run of rims. Susan should consider herself lucky though. Things would have been much worse if she was still on the interstate.
Here is another great site I have used for touchup paint with great results. It was a little pricey IMHO ($35 for a 2 oz. bottle of Neat Green and a 2oz. bottle of clear), but well worth it.

Chief,
Brent is right about potholes in PA. Some of them could be swimming pools with the addition of some water.
Good Morning
sun is up and 80s today.
Brent glad SusieQ is ok, you need to contact the chief like I do. He sends me instant grits he is hidding and I use it for pot hole filler.
Going out to the store for my walk, have a great day...S.J.
Glad SuzieQ is OK.
That rim had a defect. I would reccomend getting a dye penetration test done on the other rims. It is a three part test that cleans surfaces, the na dye is spread over the area and seeps into the smallest crack, then a last solution is spread over the surface and if the dye has penetrated the surface the defect shows up.
Chances are if there is a defect it could be in the whole lot.
Jim
Brent - That's amazing. She did a good job controlling the car and getting safely off of the road...
Kurt - Keep the slurry car another week. I just opened a "questionable" car from NC and I'm scared to put it on my track because my shopvac is missing it's grit-pickup attachment.
Hope everyone is doing well today.

Good morning all,
It is a stormy day in SE Indiana. It was pouring buckets when I left the "Tree City", but dry as a bone when I hit Indy. Go figure. Brent, glad to hear Susie-Q is ok. That is certainly a rare set of circumstances. You two have had a lot of experiences this year. Hopefully things will turn around for you. I had bran muffins on the dining car this morning for breakfast. Beacon is lit as usual. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
ChiefEagles Brent, glad to see the Q is OK after that one. Guess that is a Yankee hazzard [massive pot holes].

Town Board finally over. Everyone was outstanding. Had long agenda. Got through all but one items and one of the ladies said, "My brain is getting foggy." So we adjourned. It was after 11PM and we started at 7 PM. Took one 10 minute break. Great Town Board and staff. 4 public hearings adn citizens did good too. None went over their 5 minute limit.
Popcorn and then bed. Sleep tight.
