Good night. Prayers for all who are in need. Hope all tests give great results. Just finished movie Mr. Brooks. Had seen it once. Earlier we watched Elizabeth, The Golden Age. Was a TV afternoon. Got cal from Youngest. Had contractions all morning but had stopped. Bet Grandmom hits the road tomorrow. 4Runner gased and ready. Another boy. Sleep tight.

Morning all! Looks like I'm first up. Fresh pot on!
Passed MSF (motorcycle safety foundation) Basic Rider Course! On to Secretary of State to pass their written exam. Amazing course. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to ride. I still don't feel ready to get on the road yet, but I am jazzed about riding.
Missed my girls. I was in class and studying all weekend, so I didn't see them much. I'll spend the day with them.
Kurt
Good job Kurt on the MSF course When you do get a bike you will be ready to put those skills to work for you. I have not had a chance to ride at all this week, TODAY that will change, GORGEOUS weather all weekend and it is to continue for a few more days.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Read some American Heritage after posting last night. Traffic was interesting today as some guy in a Bimmer was trying to dodge in and out of traffic. He was ahead of me on a long stretch of road, but I wound up ahead of him due to taking a slightly different route this morning. Hmmmmm.... I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning. Beacon is lit. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning all. Going to heat up. Got grass to mow and weedeat. Going to put Fifey and Brent on the milk carton. Youngest called but said she was still at home. Dr's apt today and they may keep her. Have a great week.
Good Morning

Kurt- Congrats on passing your exam, I knew you would. Chats with Brutus, RT, and Charlie last nite, Kurt we keep looking for you.
As requested I cannot tell you what I had for breakfast but some of it came from the garden and is served between two slices of toast. No plans yet for today so I will just wait it out.

Aloha. Beautiful day yesterday and looks like again today. Boy, the Chief sure gets great movies on his TV. Mike C, there's allegedly some Izod-sponsored open-wheel racers visiting the Macys on State St. this Thur. Worked with the youngest on bike riding without training wheels. Remember when the biggest thing you had to learn was bike-riding? LOL. So after lotsa practice, he finally got it. More practice needed but he was thrilled.

Morning all, quiet day here so far. Whole family is suffering from stomach problems. Wife has come down with hiatal hernia and gerds. I have had it for years but it is under control with meds. Youngest adult son has sensitve stomach. We have to cook three different meals it seems like or eat something that is bland.
Completed my purchase of scale GG1 shell. Check mailed today. Was watching come videos of GG1's back in the good ole days. Very impressive locomotives with lots of longivity. They lasted from the early 30's right into Amtrak.
Church yesterday followed by brunch. Had dinner out last night. Wife enjoyed no cooking yesterday.
I wrote an article for Lines South Magazine a while back about my younger days riding the ACL. Have to check with the editor to see if or when they are going to publish it . Magazine comes out quarterly.
Have a good week,
Ray

GRANDMA IS ON THE WAY TO WLMINGTON AND YOUNGEST IS IN HOSPITAL. Another little REB is on the way.
Grass mowed and weedeated. Even the widow lady's big yard. Now off to a meeting with a County Commissioner at the "troubled" school site. Think I will grab a double cheeseburger on the way.
Ray I have a book put out ( softback ) by Lancaster Chapter of the NRHS. That is the story of the First GG-1 owned by PRR. 4800 which I believe Strausburg has it now. you might try looking up the NRHS and then lancaster division of it and try contacting them to see if they hae this book still in print.
this copy was given to me the week I went to see my mother the last time. She was dieing of alztimers and one of the nurse saw me reading it and told me if I wanted it I could have it as the gentleman thats name is inside it is not with us anymore and she felt he would be pleased another train fan received the book.
The book is titled "Career of a Champion" The Story Of the First GG1
very interesting book. If I can ever get my oldest brother to give up some slides of trains that my parents took I'll have pics of when a GG1 went thru the switch tower at Paoli, PA. I remember dad and I skipping breakfast to get there to see it. It was like early 1970's as my mother worked at a ford dealership that was right next to the tracks where it happened at so we were able to get in there property and get some good pics. a set of switches were not completely thrown and it jump the track and went thru the bottom of the switch tower. the guys in the switch tower were okay but understandingly were shook up.
Afternoon all!
Chief: Congratulations on the new arrival!
Doug: Great news! Do you ride with him?
SPman: The Magnificent GG1 from Mark1 Video http://216.158.107.193/mark1video/-strse-150/THE-MAGNIFICENT-GG-dsh-1-%28DVD%29/Detail.bok is excelent. Fast moving with a lot of footage, thru the Penn Central era.
Congrats Chief!

Welcome 4-8-8-4.
Got a question for the DCS gurus here on the pot. Last friday after getting a loco registered into the handheld a notice showed on the screen "Maintenance Required". I looked thru a DCS manual and was unable to find any info about the notification. Is this readable on the handheld and if so how? It ran just fine. Forgot to say, I don't have DCS at home. It was at the clubs layout in the museum.
Heat & humidity have been back again since saturday, hurry winter!

Congratulations Chief, and thanks for adding more troops to the cause. Pass along best wishes to Mrs. Pam too.
Been away the weekend as AT&T had a little issue with the DSL and so we had to have them fix things. Have another issue that came up, but will wait till it is taken care of to talk about.
Getting to bed early tonight as I have a big case in the morning. Anyway, will check later. Doubt I'll be able to catch up on all the posts since last week.

Good Evening
Well it did get to 76 today.
Congrats to the Chief and family even though I did not see an arrival anouncement. Yes I saw that they were at the hospital.
Granny and I had an off day neither of us felt good so it was CTT and PS2 golf. Banilla and root beer,a few cupcakes are waiting for the thingy...S.J.
Evening all,
Another beautiful night. Cool and clear. The windows are open and the fan is on. Kids had a great first day back in school. Were really wound up and did not to go to sleep. Had to pull out the "you don't want me to come up here again tonight"! It still works.
Something has came up and I will not be able to go to York this fall. BUMMER!! I had really been looking forward to it.
Need to do some reading before I go to bed.
DougM - The boy looks very happy!
Kurt - ongrats!
Rich - The CTT car got mailed out Saturday.
May God bless
Jim

dougdagrump Congrats Gramps ! Welcome 4-8-8-4. Got a question for the DCS gurus here on the pot. Sunny, high 80's here. Really quiet with the fair shut down.
Congrats Chief. You know, your job now is to get the little one wound up, then send 'em home with mom & dad.
Monday at work. Usual stuff, maintenance tripping over production and corporate wanting magic. Maintenance 'borrowed' a length of buss duct from over my die shop. No power to run the grinders, welders, and mills. We'll get it all sorted out by the weekend so we can start again next Monday.
Had a bid going on e-bay on a 6660 boom car. Got out bid and was planning on siniping in at the close of the auction. Only problem was that I was a time zone off on the closing time It was closed by the time I got there! Just as well. The selling price was higher than I wanted to pay anyhow. There will be others. Half the fun in in the chase, they say.
Later all.
Chief - Big Congrats Grandad! Hope you already got him a Starter Set!
Kurt - congrats on the course work, but be careful out there! Cars and trucks do not respect bikers, it seems to me.
Doug - Big Congrats to Ben-Zilla too! Buy that boy a Sundae and put it on my tab
Tire sensor is going off on the van, so looks like a trip to the dealer after all. Should have another good year or so out of this tire, but she drove on it for about 100 feet, including a tight turn and a curb/driveway entrance, so might be a problem there. OTOH, it's still holding air fine from last night. We'll have them check it tomorrow morning.
Nice talks with RT, SJ and Jeffrey tonight. Good train talk in multiple scales
8nTruck - you are right, that happens to me all the time and then along comes another one, better deal or better piece... You'll see! The few times I bid higher than I wanted backfired on me too. Just hang tight, lol!
Work has been weird with lots of changes lately - not good or bad, just different.
Looks like the funeral will be Friday, so I'll take off work for a few hours - it's about 2 hours each way, plus the service. A few others are going too. It's the end of the month, which is bad for work; but it's the right thing to do.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Man - I must be tired! TARDIS is ready to Fly, let's get going boys! Rootbeer and Banilla all around, it's on SJ!
Congratulations Chief

morning all didn't sleep well last night tossed and turned most the night well this is going to be a long day glad its just till 3:30 today not 8 lol.
all have a good day talk to you all later
IIABSDISEI with temps in the low 80s. Congrats, Chief on another grandchild! Welcome 4-8-8-4! You will find this place to be a friendly place to gather. Doug M, if it is Izod related, I imagine Ryan Hunter-Reay will be there. Maybe Sarah Fisher as well! I would love to be at Chicago Saturday for the race, but you can not get seats in advance as the track sells only season tickets (NASCAR package). It should be a good show. I was at practice last night with "my" soccer girls. I also did weights at the YMCA and worked on a reluctantly running trimmer. I had bacon and biscuits for breakfast on the dining car this morning before sending it on to "Points East". An extra was sent to NC to help strengthen a certain new grandfather as well. Beacon is lit and I can drive. Just keep the banilla and the Old Mills coming. I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning all!
Hot one here today! Great day with the girls yesterday. Park, bike ride...etc...
Chief: Congratulations! Remember to get the new parents some meals to help lighten their load.
Brutus: A neighbor of mine firmly believes in riding like you're invisible. I can understand that.
