SPMan - You certainly have seen THE BEST in railroading during your years out west. Perhaps if I can make it out there you could be my guide. I'll buy dinner (which won't include GRITS).
b cylinder - Good luck with that weather. Speaking of...
dougnotta - Hey, I watched Little House on the Prairie. They had horrible weather in the midwest every other episode...
strogey - Cool link. Pretty scenery. Perhaps they can buy #19 from the Yreka.
Banks - You did get the MAPQUEST directions to Rollesville, right...?
Morning guys
for youse that need ‘em
Brutus – “saw’ you last night on the f-book, computer is acting crazed, may need a new hard drive, so I couldn’t talk to you. The thing is just flippin’ out.
Got a real bad case of short timers right now, off to Universal later today, back on Sunday to prep for my long cruise on the HD for HOG Million Mile Monday. The HOG club is saying 200-300 mile ride (whoo boy...)
Had lunch with a buddy who got laid off, may try to get back in fall softball....need to get behind the plate again. I thought about baseball, but there is too much MORE equipment I’d need to do that (but I won’t rule it out....yet).
Up to 96 and VERY HUMID again today 30% chance of rain later.
The hotel has a computer, I’ll see if I can get on it tonight or Saturday night.

Good Morning
Storms gone, 80,000 without power this morning.
We are going to the Chrysler auto museum this morning with some old people from the church. So close and yet I have never been there. Figured this would be a good good time to go before its all given to the poor. Have a great friday...S.J.

fifedogPerhaps if I can make it out there you could be my guide. I'll buy dinner (which won't include GRITS).
Fife, I would be happy to tell you where the good train watching spots are and go if I am able. My son could probably tell you more because he is an active railfan. I have'nt been out there for years so I'm not up to date. My son tells me that because of security since 9/1l, a lot of areas are no longer accessible in places like Cajon Pass. P.S. I don't mind grits. I just don't eat them anymore because of the carbs. I'm on a diet now. I miss those Eastern crabs you mentioned. You could bring some of those.

Good Evening
Weather was nice today. The trip to Chrysler car museum was fun. They have three floors of cars with about 80 on display and 350 total. So about every three months they change the display. I took my film camera and when I got home found out Rite-aid no longer does prints and only sends them out for proscessing once a week. Walgreens still does in house but does not send out at all. Guess I'm still in the 20th century. That was my day so now I shall wait for the Tardis, banilla ready.

Just home from a wonderful 7 days away on the bikes with youngest son. We left from his home in MPLS and spent 6 fantastic days in the the South Dakota Badlands, Blackhills and parts of Wyoming. For those of you that enjoy the beautiful days of traveling on winding roads with "oh wow" scenery you should consider that region for your future considerations.
We did 1916 miles from start to finish in perfect weather, only one very warm afternoon, felt like we were being blasted by a huge hair dryer! I have a new dislike for Honda Mini Van drivers, moronic driving behavior doesn't even come close to their inability to follow even the simplest driving techniques. "Look Marge --- a Buffalo, I'll just park the van in the middle of the road, get out and take a few pics", I did have a few suggestions for those folks that I shared with them.
If everything goes as planned, I will do a solo coast to coast trip next summer while the boss and her sisters take two weeks and go to Norway. Should be the trip of a lifetime for all of us. I'm not sure I can do it all in two weeks, we'll see. There's actually a 4 corners trip that is sanctioned but I'm not interested as the time frame is short, 21 days.
Big open house here on July 5 in the train room, possibly 30 couples/families stopping by, hope they don't all come at once! This is our first time to have an open house and we kind of got roped into it but that's OK as I need to spend some quality time in the train room, good excuse to really clean up the layout and do a few minor repairs to the landscape.
Really looking forward to sleeping tonight in our own bed. Motels and continental breakfasts leave a lot to be desired. But I wouldn't trade one minute of the last 7 days :)
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
Heading north for the weekend. Have a good one guys!

Well, it's been a couple of days. Been on the busy side lately. We are going to go to FIL's tomorrow for his Birthday and for a post Father's Day visit. I am going to try to post a few photos from our recent trip to Hilton Head for the meeting. First will be train related so I don't get in trouble. Rest are for Fife as promissed. Hope this works:
Harbor Town Yacht Club....Pick one Fife! Actually, I think I have just the thing....
How do you like this one
Or, is this more your style?
Anyway, it was a nice place and perhaps I will return either for a meeting, or if I take up Golf again. Hope everyone has a blessed weekend.

Last night in paradise. Nice chatting with Sir J from beachside until the Blackberry died. Mahalo! Buckeye, sometimes the Chicago summers are worse. Plotting to find some way to stay here. LOL. Dennis, great shots of Harbor Town. Love Fife's new bathtub toys..
Doug, you lucky dog! I'm green with envy about your trip to paradise. What hotel were you in? Overlooking the beach like that sounds wonderful. We need to do something like that for our 50th this coming November. Have a safe trip home.
Who found my boat. Suppose to be a secret. Why town coffers are running low.
Soaker hosed all of garden and then hand watered [with hose] all of Pam's flower pots, flowers and shrubs. Now I can go to bed. Goooood night all.
Good night Chief! Busy day here - ended up going out to dinner, then getting haircuts at the salon, and then at Walmart for a couple hours. Tomorrow, we are getting new family photos, so wanted matching color shirts and new hairdos. Hey, I just follow orders guys, lol! Sorry to miss you and SJ, Doug. Tardis will be there in a few minutes to pick you up, then come one back and get the other guys. Kurt's on the move, so have to coordinate his pickup and return very carefully! Right, Doug, RT, Mike, Patrick, SJ, Kurt, Don, Chief, RT, 8nTruck, SPMan, Laz, DougDG, JimSP, and all the rest of you guys - if you want a pickup, turn on the beacon or the porch-light, on the way
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Beacon on in Oregon! Wonder how he can squeeze this one in the itenerary ) Hmmm...maybe I should have let him know a tad earlier!
Oh well, maybe tomorrow night!
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 73 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.
dwiemer - Nice harbor...gotta love that lighthouse. That sailboat is a bit larger than my little 27. Cabin cruiser would be more to wifey's liking. Thanks for sharing.
Chief -
cnw1995 - Certainly hope you will be posting some pics of Hawah-yee...now that you've been taunting us all week. Sheesh...
SPMan - 2 dozen "48s" for a day of railfanning---DEAL!

Went out for a morning walk and found a yard sale---ended up with some books for Audrey and nothing besides----

Jon....Welcome home!
Dennis.....I have played that course at Hilton Head. It gets beat up badly due to it being open to the public.
fifedog.....Why don't you just sail down to Hilton Head for a weekend?
SJ.....Where is the Chrysler museum and please go ditgital, you will never go back.
Doug......How did you get this gig? When I have meetings they are in Buffalo, Minneapolis, Louisville, Baltimore, Atlanta, etc. Of course my northern meetings are in the dead of winter and my southern meetings are when eggs fry on the pavement.
Buckeye - When wifey gets her new Beneteau 41, sure. Until then, no "big" water...
Chrysler Car museum is very easy to find. Exit 78 off of I75 puts you directly into their HQ. Just follow the museum signs. $8. or $7 for seniors. Check on line and you can find 2 for 1. Had a great chat with Doug last nite, brought back many memories of our two trips there. sunny this morning and summer sure feels good....S.J.
EDIT- Museum is closed on Mondays
Morning. Ran soakers and hand watered flowers until 1 AM. Lucy had me up at 6 AM. Went back to bed and slept till 8:30. Cooked red hots, eggs and sliced tomatoes. Big breakfast. Got "matters", squash and cucumbers to pick. Then shower and off to Miss Edna's with bags of veggies. Still real hot and humid.
Glad Jon had a good ride and time off from doing nothing.
Seems all are doing well. Still prayers for Brutus' wife.
Have a great weekend. God bless.
Good Morning from beautiful Southern Ohio
It is nice out, but going to get real sticky later. Hope to move the camper to the house today to start "making it ours" with the stuff we keep in it.
DougM- Glad you are having such a nice time. Your tripbrought back fond memories.
Cheif - Nice boat!
Buckeye - Congtrats on joining TCA,
Kids are getting up. They slept in! Got to go.
May God bless

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a beautiful, sunny 65 degrees. Going up to 85 today, with lots of sunshine.
Today is a quiet day. Wife is up north at the daughter's for the weekend. I am home alone with nothing to do , but run trains and sit outside in the shade.
Dining car was here for the usual breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.

Greetings:
Spent most of this week in the hospital taking care of blood clots in my right leg. After being wheeled around for Dopler scan, two chest X-rays, chest scan with isotopes, vitals every four Hrs., blood work four times, Etc. I am back home. They let me go only because I was able to give myself Lovenox shots.
The shots were easy, like giving the animals shots.
Glad my son lives on the farm and was willing to "pinch hit" for me.
Had the same thing 16 Yrs. ago in the other leg. That was before Lovenox and spent 8 days in the hospital. Medicine has advanced since then.
Great personnel in the hospital. Never been waited on like that before. Haven't seen the bill as yet. Fortunately I have Medicare and great back up insurance. Lovenox is expensive. Don't no the total but the co-pay was $150.00 for an 8 day supply. I am not complaining. Better than 8 days in the hospital.
No internet hook up in the hospital, so I missed the daily Coffee Pot get togethers.
The leg is a little sore, so Mike can drive for me to night.
This is for everyone, especially you, Brutus, because you requested it.
