Cool here. Clearing and 50 so far this evening. Boys got pounded with rain last night at Scout Camp but they came through reasonably dry. Moon is out tonight.
Marty - hope your Denver trip goes well.
LAZ - big 50 coming up huh! This means Monday will be a bit of the hair of the dog eh! I assume you have most of next week off to recover!
Preparing house for carpet installers Tuesday. Having the hall and daughters bedroom carpet replaced. The hall has 7 closets on it (it is a very long hall) that I had to clean out the bottoms so new carpet can be installed in them also. That was a project for most of the day today.
Happy New Year's Eve eve ya'll.
Regards, Roy
Haven't gotten to read everything. We were in Indiana at my wife's uncle's funeral.

Good evening all,
It was another nice day in SE Indiana with temps in the 50s again. Took almost 45 minutes to take down and pcak up all the train stuff from the museum. We did not have very many visitors, but my daughter's family and my sister's family did get to see everything. I have two five year old nieces who sat and watched the standard gauge run for about 20 minutes. Their parents were amazed at how fascinated they were. My wife had a nice "linner" for everybody afterward. It was a very nice day. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training (especially the Corvair fans),

Seems the blizzard is sitting right above the trucks that got stopped trying to get here. Go figure. It has not been too bad of a day just not home. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
Think they set you up Marty. Sorry.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a mild and cloudy 45 degrees. Going up to 60 today with some rain.
Well, this is the last day of the year. And the last day of this Thread. I guess we are suppose to start a new one tomorrow. Chief's job.
Today is mainly relaxing. I plan on running trains, this afternoon. Maybe even a little work on the layout . They say that whatever you are doing on New Year's Eve,.....you will be doing for the entire New Year. Running trains is good.
I plan on staying up late tonite. Midnight is late for me. I figure there will be a lot of activity on the Coffee Pot tonite and I don't want to miss it.
Here's the Dining Car. All aboard for breakfast.
Y'all have a great New Year's Eve Day.

Buckey - sorry to hear about your wifes loose.
We had to work yesterday, which meant a trip to Detriot to review a new tool. 7 hours on the road for a one hour meeting. At least we had good weather for the trip. So now we have a two day weekend
Looks like Chief will be starting a new thread tomorrow. This is really great
More powerful than a mountain !
All be safe tonight and see you all on the new theard tomorrow!

A dreary, damp day here today. Good day to do some work building goodies for the client's layout, maybe take some time to run my trains for a bit.
Buckeye - Sorry about your family's loss.
In case I don't have a chance later today -
HAPPY NEW YEAR
YA'LL
Good Morning Everyone !! Hope everyone has a safe & Happy New Years !! Looking forward to "The Chief" starting a new "Coffee Pot" tonight !! Don't forget the Egg Nog & pass the popcorn !!
Chuck : try to stay awake, you might be the 2nd. one to post !!
Well, now to hit the dining car & try to get some excersize before rigamortiss sets in on these 3 days off !! I hate excersize, too !!
Today should be low key. A couple of coats of poly on the bookcase I'm makeing for the grandkids, They turned out nice I think. I have to work dashift tomorrow so I'll probably not stay up too late.
All please be careful out there tonight, there will be impaired drivers, and what do you say that none of us will be in the impaired drives category.
Prayers for you wife and family Buckey. Thanks for the note.
Jim
Good morning everyone,
Happy New Year
I think that there will be a lot of activity on the new pot tonight. So, what is everyone doing tonight? I know we are having people over at 4 to watch the Eagles game, and then we are going to my aunt's house tonight.
Well, thats all for now, so talk to ya'll later.
Happy New Year All. Woke up this A.M. with a better outlook. Things look smooth on the front so I guess it could be worse. I'll get home tomorrow afternoon and have some dinner with the family. Hoping to get the Polar Express upgraded with the mini cruise by Electric RR. I was going to do it yesterday but we all know how that goes. I'm trying to go tetherless so I also got a mini commander for the whistle. I just need to find a good connection for the antenna on the engine. I read somewhere that the handles are isolated but getting a connection to them is a bear. I'll see what I can come up with.
Once again Happy New Years and STAY SAFE!

Marty, glad things are better. Let us know how the Polar Express upgrade goes. Others will be wanting to "copy" you. Do some pictures and post them. Thanks

HI GIZ,
Thanks for the BDAY wishes? Some days I feel the age but most are pretty good.
ROY, No got to go to school on Tuesday, maybe with a BIG HEAD? Probably not?
BUCKEYE sorry for your lose.
Went out with the flintlock yesterday, NO DEER yet. Sat in the woods in my small game wear and no jacket. Was about 53 here yesterday, no wind and just a nice day to be in the woods. Really quite and enjoyed the day, no deer but maybe next weekend?
All have a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR>

Happy Birthday....LAZ !!!!!!!!!!!
Laz !! I was waiting till tomorrow, forgot what day you said it was !! Hope you have a good one !!
Good afternoon all and Happy New Year's Eve!
So - when does New Years's Coffe Pot thread actually start! EST, CST, MST, or PST???? Do we wait long enough for Doug's notta Grump to have a final post? Can the Chief stay up until 3 am EST to make the last post? The suspense is agonizing!
In reality since the Chief will fall asleep at about 10 pm EST with bowl of popcorn in his lap and visions of trains running on real layout tables, we may have to get creative! Inquistive minds what to know!
Buckeye - sorry for your family's loss.
LAZ - Ouch! Big Head Tuesday - a day not to remember!
Will try to check in tonight, but just in case - Happy New Year to you guys!
Morning guys - got distracted when I tried to type as the dog nearly puked on my wife! Glad she was fast and got Chewy to the kitchen just in time (vinyl flooring)!
Happy Birthday Laz - glad you liked the "card" I emailed to you. Marty - glad to hear things are looking up - it stinks when work steals your day off. Buckeye, sorry for your loss.
Going over to a friends this afternoon for dinner and fun. I think it will be Dave and John and me and our families. The ladies are going to do crapbooking while us guys watch movies in the basement or run around with the kids. Anyway, Happy New Year and see you all in the 2nd Pot of Coffee once Chief puts it on the stove.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Happy New Year All !!! BE SAFE
Laz - Don't worry about 50, it OK, everything after that is what can be a problem, but the alternative isn't very good either.
Chief - I will be checking tonight, so you got to stay up! All that responsibility closing down the old and opening the new!! Heavy burden...... Good time to work on the layout.
(Is the forum based upon GMT? or PST? (heh, heh, heh) I'll wait up and report on whether or not the transition occurs on time. Does Roseyville have a New Year's Parade or any other functions?
Hope the counts move forward, hate to see that get lost.
Does this wiring diagram look right?
Can you read it? Maybe of this location http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6cc10b3127cce80684312a49d00000016100EZOWbRmyYsU
If so trying to integrate a fixed MTH power supply to the TIU, seems I am giving the ZW headaches when I do this.
Possibly the DCS ground wire not connected to the correct location?
John mentioned something about "continuous" mode. Not sure what that is reffering to.
ZW, TIU, or that Power Supply?
I'm checking all the documentation I can find.
Thanks
(Wondering ..... How many pages will the pot end with?)

YEPPER BIG 50!
I was the third baby born on Jan.1st 1957 in Hazleton, Pa. Didn't win any prizes though, came into the world at 5:01 PM.
Thanks GIZ for all the BDAY wishes hope YUZ GIZ a great year too.

Don,
Guess I used the wrong term. The four channel of the TIU can be either fixed or variable. They come from the factory with two of each, but all can be set to fixed or all to variable. That is what I was refering to. I am using two TIUs, two channels of one are fed from a post war ZW and the other two channels from a Z-4000. The second TIU is only used for one channel and that is feed from a Lionel Brick. All are set to fixed as I run very little conventional. If I do I can use the throtles on the ZW or Z-4000. Your diagram cam out a little small for my eyes, I am going to try to print it out bigger, if I don't lose to much resolution to read it, I will check it out. (Added) I also use the auxilary power supply to feed the TIU. If you don't do that and you cut off the power to channel one for any reason, it kills the whole TIU.
Good afternoon all,
This will probably be may last post for the year. We have friends coming over starting at 6:00 so will be busy for the rest of the year.
Laz
Happy 50th birthday. . At least you get your birthday off from work. Are you going to spend it deer hunting?
Buckeye, My condolences on your family's loss.
On the train front, I am working on detailing my Armor flat car loads, blocking, chains, etc.
See you all on the NEW coffee pot.
Happy Birthday Laz!!!
