Tom, for some reason, I am still running at 100%. There are numerous old time posters that can not get it to work or can only get it to work partially correct. If you, the master of photo posting, are unable to make it work, I would say that the computer guys that work for CTT have really messed it up this time.
And as you can see below, my photos are real easy to cut and paste.
spankybird wrote:Hi Guys, We don't get that much time these days to post much. I have seen several people having problems with the software of the forum. This is the first post I have done this week and have also noticed that all the type options and icnons are now gone. John, I also can't cut and past any pics. So if you don't see me on the Sunday Photo Fun, this is way ! ! ! Merry Christmas To All.

I am still able to post pictures using the old IMG method, which you taught me, with much patience !! LOL !! They say go to Firefox, but I doubt with Windows ME that it would work. Thanks & Merry Christmas !!
Can anyone else see this picture???

Spankybird - as always, great pics! Laz - maybe you could put the metal inside the logs - drill a hole put in a small nut or other metal object and cover with epoxy, then paint? Love all the bridges guys. Went to dinner with friends last night and then our kids and their kids all exchanged gifts - so did us parents. Unfortunately, the computer game (just a tiny box that hooks up to the tv) my friend Dave wanted didn't work right out of the box. He was going to fiddle with it today and maybe call - there is a number on the bottom. Well, went to my sister's today and got an old steel desk and credenza on my truck, then they followed me back and helped me load it in the basement. I have to give it back if they still want it when their son goes to college, so about 5 or 6 years.
Now - here's the deal. I replaced the single pane windows in the basement 2 years ago with vinyl replacement windows. Last winter, I noticed one of the double panes on the 2nd window was broken on the inside. HD got me a replacement "panel" for at the same cost as my original order per unit. Well, going down the hill today and look and the glass in the other panel is broken! I thought there was some water drops inside last time and guess the seal wasn't good and the first hard freeze fractured the glass. Now the other panel did the same thing? Right inside underneath this window I've got my dust collector and my compressor standing. I kinda wonder if the pressure changes when they are running is breaking the seals on that window, or if the panes were'nt sealed right to begin with on both of them? Wonder why both didn't break the same year then? I'll replace again and I'll move my 220 line for the DC to an interior wall and move all that stuff far from the windows - still a pain in the .
Hey - happy birthday Jim!
PPS - my other 2 3461's I won on ebay showed up. One had some roughness on the top and I think it was rusty and they painted over? I'll watch it I guess.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

I have seen this engine before.
Wow! Been very busy the last couple of days getting th Christmas shopping done. Great to see all the posts.
Fixed daughters PC. The power supply (of all things) failed. Took about a day of pondering and then I checked some internets specs on PC-AT power supplies and determined it was the likely culprit. Found a replacement that bolted in at Fry's Electronics here for $29.
The wife wants a flat panel TV for Christmas. I have spent way too much time listening to salespersons who do not know what they are talking about. Internet searching takes too much time. And my biggest question is why is there a $1000 difference between two manufacturers sets that are exactly the same (LCD, 1080P, 42", 4 aux inputs, HD tuner included). My wife likes the plasma better but I read nothing good about plasma lifetime (picture quality/brightness). Any comments you guys? I am somewhat landed on Samsung or Sony. Next issue - is there a repair center in the area? More Internet searching - UGH. Wife agrees we may not have this before Christmas.
NSTrackman - sorry about your accident. Glad to hear you are doing OK.
Jim A. Congrats and !
Spanky - good to hear from you too.
Kevin - looking forward to that picture of the "sunset". (Did it ever rise?)
Buckeye - keeping wary of the Chief...
Blueberry and John - cool on the Atlas bridges. We have them on the club layout and they are nice! Nice find John and good for you!
Blueberry - I see your photo fine. I am on XP and IE6.
Chief, Dr. John, John (jefelectric), Jim F, Mitch, Nick, John B, LAZ, Colin, and all you guys - have a great holiday weekend and Merry Christmas!
Regards, Roy
Good evening,
Been having some internet problems here. Don't know what happened but it looks like I lost both my cable modem and my router. I had a spare cable modem to try since I had a false alarm some time ago and bought a new one. Can now connect one computer at a time until I get a new router.
Jim A. and many more.
NSTrackman, Glad to hear that you are on the mend. Noticed you didn't post lately but thought maybe you were putting in a lot of overtime.
Did the TMCC upgrade, by Electric RR, to my Reading Buddy today. Works great. Has engine sound, bell, horn, brake release sound and coupler sound although I didn't install electrocouplers. I may order another to put in the other one that I have.
Tom, Enjoyed seeing your pictures, miss your daily posts.
Good evening everyone,
NsTrackman sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you get better soon.
Roy, don't go with a plasma. They have a lifespan of about 5 years. Go with an LCD or a DLP. We have a rear projection Toshiba that has DLP, and it is crystal clear in HD. I am not sure, but I think we may be getting a flat screen soon.
Good evening all,
It was cloudy and cool today. Got the housework done, went to the YMCA, wrapped the wife's Christmas present and watched a tape of a soccer game. Lucas had a friend over and we played Risk. I will set up the Polar Express around the tree tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
HI GIZ,
Just got done watching the POLAR EXPRESS for the first time. Great movie!!!! Loved it. Maybe in to purchasing one in the future?
JIM F might have to try the metal in the log thing, might work? If not will make a scrap yard up? I use to work there for two years going through college. Great Job learned alot.
ROY have a GREAT CHRISTMAS and what the hey but your wife that big screen she buys half your trains anyway?
Have a good one.
laz57
Hey GIZ,
Almost forgot about the big event of the day. Had my principals two kids over, ages 1.5 and 4, for about an hour today to run trains. All ran great the kids really loved to press the buttons. So if you have kids over and want them to be involved have lots o operating accessories with buttons, they loved it. We had great fun just laughing. Best Christmas for me.
Roy,
I hate to even say this, because I don't have enough information. I heard on the radio today a Jim LaPorte show, they were talking about new Laser TVs coming out in mid 2007. Allegedly they cost about 30% less to manufacture, and projected that large TV prices will really fall. Maybe you could google, I will see if I can find any more.
Don
Found this web site. (Havn't figured out how to do a hot link, sorry)

My old TV is getting close to its end, so I'm looking for a replacement. Plasma is out on cost, reliability and durability grounds, the average UK home is less than half the size of yours, so a 32" LCD is in the picture (excuse the pun) they are all HD ready, but it's benefits here are marginal. Our normal TV is at 625 lines I believe you are still on 405, and who wants to see Brad Pitts zits anyway! Cost? $900.00 to $2,500.00, a lot of money to spend in order to watch old programmes and adverts. I have not heard of Laser TV. But when my mother was born Bleriot still had to fly across the English channel (22 miles).
No shopping today, we are off to Leeds for a lunch of Haddock, chips, mushey peas, tea, bread and butter. A good Yorkshire speciality.
I like those pic's of the fireless puffer.
I have Google spell check on this and keep having to correct its mistakes.
NIHIL DICE.
John Baker
Morning All,
John B, With the PAL TV system we use in the UK HD will only increase picture quality by 25% max. As PAL is the best of NTSC and SECAM systems. And guess what, SKY will charge another £10 a month for HD. Forget it was my response. Take a trip to that Tesco Extra and have a look at their LCD TVs they are doing some serious deals at the moment. Then again there is only so many times you can watch The Great Escape......What no Bond film on Christmas day? its a outrage.
Most of the LCD tvs come with Freeview digital tuners so you will get more than 5 channels.
Roy, FIL has a 42" Plasma by LG he has had it about a year and a half. Can't say anything bad about it. Picture is awsome. Have heard only good things about LG. Worth going the extra mile like we did when installing it by hiding all the wires in the wall. Looks like the Enterprise bridge viewer!
Merry Christmas to all
Nick
Happy Chirstmas eve to all. Busy day for me. Early Church and then Sunday School [got to lead class as regular teacher is gone for the day]. Then drive down east to Mom's. Frankie, Loralyn [his wife] and Cathy [oldest] will meet us. Then back to home for only a "presents loading secession" and off to Pam's folks for more presents. Alison [youngest] and Chris came in late last night. They are suppose to go to his folk's for the night after leaving Pam's folks. Too busy a schedule. Tomorrow, just Pam and I and the boys [dogs] untiol 4 PM. Then big meal at Pam's folks. Today is suppose to be pretty in NC. Tomorrow AM might have severe storms. In December??? Later.
BTW: this site is dropping in and out. Others are not so it is this software and its server.

John - your router/cable modem problem sounds familiar to me. We just went through that mess about 2 to 3 weeks ago. Also had that same thing happen this summer when lightning struck. I've had this happen about 4 times over the years where the cable modem just quits. Are they flakey and just fail or is there another issue? Sure is a pain, isn't it? Do you know if there is such a thing as a "surge suppressor" that can be put in the cable modem line? Inquiring minds want to know????
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a dark, cloudy 34 degrees here. Going up to a sunny 50. Maybe some rain tonite.
Today, we are just working around the house. Have a few errands to run. Last minute stuff. I have a package to wrap for the wife. Maybe, later I will run trains for an hour or so. Relaxing. I've got to take a few pictures of my ideas and post them for you guy's opinion.
Well, I think I will board the Dining Car for a nice breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Christmas Eve.
Chuck
