One problem, it was suppose to drop here from the 70's tomorrow to the high 60's Friday and through weekend.  Now dropping they say, Friday and through weekend to be in the high 40's. Shock [:O]  "Reclinerize" time.  Watching some DVD's on big diesels.  Later.

Ouch... the Chief takes another jab.... wonder if there ever really will be benchwork built in Roseyville...

Been following the brouhaha and I too am proud of Colin/TMCCMan.  There's enough cr@p in this world without people ranting and getting wild on this forum... Appreciated jonadel's comments too.

Evenin' All,

The weather is really crazy, earlier in the week it was rainy and chilly. Now we have the Santa Anna winds but not hot, just dry as popcorn f**t. Probably should have taken the hanging pots off the deck, they are swinging around like crazy. Red Flag fire warnings with the wind and dryness thru saturday.

Thanks John, that car should go well with the Overton coaches. I posed the same question regarding seated passengers on another un-named site and it has turned into something entirely different. Check it out, it's funny. Banged Head [banghead]

Working late into the night and right into the next day! Ouch! Taking a short break to read some of the posts. It is still warming up here in Fairbanks. As I said earlier when the temps are climbing into the teens, (might not be warm to most of you but up here this is a hot streak), the Lower 48 is going to get smacked with a little arctic greeting card from Alaska! Sounds like it is going to hit the midwest from that weather report of dropping temps in Mizzurrah!

Roy: I believe the glaciers are receeding at an alarming rate. I work at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and many of the science guys at the geophysical institute here believe "heat" is happening all over the world. When I have some time I will email you some of their links to read more about it. For every person who says we are warming up– there is another scientist that says it is just a phase. In the 20 years I have been here it seems to get cold later each fall and spring comes earlier each year.

Wired the last of my lights and buildings on the Christmas layout earlier while taking a break from work. Moved everything from the garage to living room and hooked a ZW up to test everything. A couple of spins around the track and everything worked great and all the lights responded. Buildings and snow next on the list after the tree gets trimmed.

Pictures later today.

Back to work, this is going to be an all nighter I am afraid, to bad there is no overtime in it! I should be working for the Alaska Railroad in stead of a university.

Regards from the Freezer!

Good morning everyone.

Well, I feel a little like the boy who cried wolf. Yesterday I joked about all the Lionel goodies I got for free, when all I really got was a couple N scale sets and some building kits. Last night I visited a LHS (Chief's been there) and the owner showed me a new collection he had just received. There was a pristine 2018/6026w, a 6464-400 B&O box car, an orange Gulf tanker, and a General set (1862 loco). A red crane car, a caboose, track, switches, etc. There's more, but I don't remember it all. No joke this time. I got the 2018 for $60. He wanted way too much for the other stuff. There were 2 full bottles of original smoke pellets that he wanted $15 for each. I was like an addict in a crack house!

Jerry,
Good to see you posting. Feel better soon. My wife has a similar ailment and is also taking codiene cough medicine. Rest up so you will be well for the holidays! Take Dr. John's advice about tipping the spray cans upside down. It works. And toss the nozzles in a jar of mineral spirits overnight to unclog them.

My K-Line holiday Pacific arrived last night. I didn't dare open it as the wife was home. Fortunately, Mr. Brown had a package for her too, so she didn't say much. And no Chief, it wasn't THAT kind of package!

I'm wracking up the overtime this week too, John. Not 12 hours worth yet though! I'll bury all that overtime pay in the back yard before the groud freezes. Cold cash!

You all have a nice day.

I have used tipping over trick before on spray paint, works great on regular paint! But, Fleckstone is much thicker. I should let the top sit in some solvent.

Maybe another one of my problems is that I was trying to spray when it was 45 degrees in the basement!!! I let it sit in my bedroom over night, hope it might work now. I can always get a new can from Plasticote too.

I really like how the fleckstone looks on my layout, its just the look and feel I wanted!Cool [8D]

Well, I almost normal as of this morning, dont feel like Im in la-la land (dizzy) anymore like when I was sick.

Jerry,

You might be dizzy from spraying paint in the basement. Besides, those paints and their fumes a flammable. Be careful and use your noggin.

Good morning all,

It is still cloudy and mild in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s, but that will change as the day progresses.  All sorts of rain and possibly snow will arrive on Friday.  I got some gas at a Pilot station for 2.099 this morning and in town it was 2.359 at the Speedway.  Go figure.  I worked on getting all the standard gauge boxed up and taken down from the attic for the winter last night.  I did the YMCA treadmill routine as well.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a rainy 60 degrees. Going up to a rainy 68 today. Nothing nice, except it isn't freezing. But, it is suppose to, in a few days.

Today we are shopping in Cambridge. Interesting to see how many prices have increased. Gas is creeping back up. At $ 2.19 in Caldwell. I don't buy it there. In Cambridge, it is $ 2.05. Only 15 miles apart.

Time for breakfast in the Dining Car. Later.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Good morning everyone,

I just woke up, and my headache is worse than last night. Jim A when you get to run the Christmas engine, give us a review. I have been looking for a Christmas engine too. Chief I also put the Christmas decorations up. We have a giant blow-up snow man, a smaller, lighted cubed snow man, and 2 tall lighted trees(they have green tube lights on them. They look pretty good too.) All of that is in the backyard, and in the front, I just kept it simple, yet elegant, with white lights. I will be adding some more of them this weekend. (No characters allowed in the front yard, according to my mom.)

I will talk to everyone later.

Colin, hope you feel better.  Nothing worse than being sick.  My wife is finaly getting over her bronchitis.  Freezing rain moving in and supposed to get from 1 to 9 inches of snow depending on which "band" of weather we get in Lower Arnold.  St. Louis is supposed to be 5 to 9 inches.  Most schools closed already when checked this morning at 6:30, including ours, so off with the kids today!  These are the days I don't miss work-at-home, since then I would have to work anyway!  Kevin you are right, things are going crazy weather-wise.  Rolla is getting smeared right now.  Emails from my friend in SC last night and this morning.  He's joined a geneology site (subscription) and having a ball.  They have tons of records and books online.  He's got my father's family back to 1200 in Scotland through the MacKenzies and I'm related to Griffin Tipsword, who was reportedly the first white man in Effingham County in Illinois.  Apparently he converted indians with the bible and his trusty rifleShock [:O]!  Used witch-balls made of bone and hair to cure illnesses, silver water to cure cattle, and is thought to have saved the whites who moved in later from a massacre by convinving his friends, the Indians, that if they killed the whites, then more whites would show up and wipe them out.  Going to run my train in a little while and might finally dig out my General from the tubs in the basement.  Thinking up plans for a Christmas layout.  Everybody be careful out there!

Woke up to a -6 wind chill this a.m., strong winds out of the north all night, a bit of a change from Tuesday's record high of 68.  I really don't mind the cold temps but the wind just makes life miserable, UFF DA!  I think Kevin opened the freezer door in AK, please close it ASAPSmile [:)]

PS--Had our new neighbors come over last night to see the trains, after about 20 minutes the first grader asked if she could run one of the trains, I handed her the DCS controller and she was a champ!  Kids still amaze me, a FUN eveningBig Smile [:D]

Laz - when I've sent you e-mails they get kicked back as wrong address, send me your new address if its changed.

Weather here is hot, 70's, and humid though it should drop down into the 40's, maybe 30's by the weekend.  Had a colonoscopy yesterday, I'm good for another 10 years.  Wasn't anywhere as bad as most folks make it sound.

I think/hope I'm done with the SAL station I've built for the client, I don't know what else he can change his mind abount on it.Banged Head [banghead]

Lord help us! Dr. John we need everything you can give to the big man upstairs!

Chief is building BENCHWORK! I called to make sure as nothing else could explain how we could be 79 high yesterday and it is below 28 today and sleeting and snowing like crazy (well for Dallas)!

Look at this next photo! Snow drifts (for Dallas)! Chief - put the hammer down - turn off the saw!

Do you want to know how serious this really is? They have cancelled daytime soap operas so they can run continuous news reports on TV! The world ends as we know it!

Look - I found a photo of Chief hauling lumber to his house!

Jim, tomorrow I try to sneak out to Woodstock Hobbies. Buy myself some Christmas gifts. I want an old handcar if I can find one. I want to try to put the motor into the Rail Zepp I've gotten myself already. Anyone has a line on a cheap one?

Looks like only 3-5 inches of snow instead of the foot - 16 inches they were panic'ing about earlier. Funny, I thought h*** was freezing over because of the Chief's benchwork
