Modeling the Baltimore waterfront in HO scale
John post you pic URL and bracket it thusly:
[img.] [/img.] dont put the periods in at all.
That should work.
Do you know where Lanark is to the North?
My family is from there, in Scottland.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill...
It is a cold 34 degrees. Sunny. Going up to 44 today. No rain. That is not too bad. Looks like it snowed a little last night.
Today is full of errands and chores. Have to run into town for a few things. Next weekend I will be putting up the Christmas lights on the 10 trees outside. Then the new lawn decoration train set. It ought to look great when done.
Well , Dining Car just arrived. Breakfast. See ya later.
Y'all have a great Monday.
Chuck
Good morning,
It is cloudy with a temp of 39 at 6:00 AM. Haven't checked the temp since, but doubt if it has changed much.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend and that your team won.
Gil, Is that lumber yard built in HO scale?
Posting pictures on the forum is sort of a challange, as it seems to change with the seasons. Sometime one thing will work and other times you need to do it differently. I have been using Shutterfly to host my pics and recently have noticed that at times it is dreadfully slow. I guess they need to up their server power. Just hope they don't stop the free hosting. I shouldn't complain as what I buy from them surely doesn't pay the cost of hosting my pics.
Will be leaving shortly for a flu shoot apointment and then on to the fitness center. The late start will make for a short day.
Good morning from a cold and sunny Chicago where there was a trace of snow on the ground before the sun rose.
Great Photos, Laz. Thanks for posting them, Roy. I love the ball field and the Old MILW brewery. I have to get a close-up of that. I'm assuming you used the Woodland Scenics figures for the ball teams, right, Laz?Jim, oooh, I love my 520. Especially with the replacement pantograph I finally figured out how to mount. Havent' fixed the wiring I messed up last week. Have to trouble-shoot our cordless phones being all static-y (for months). I think it is wireless interference. Next Sunday afternoon: the Bears versus Pats. Should be a great game.

Good morning all,
It is sunny and cold in SE Indiana with temps heading to the 40s today. We got a little bit of snow last night. We watched "Desperate Housewives", the end of the NASCAR race, and a little bit of the Colts game. That last 20 laps of the NASCAR race lasted an hour!?!? I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
HI GIZ,
First day of bear season today here in Pa. Not Chicago Bears. 37 and cold here.
Ran trains last nite for an hour no pile ups just a little dirty track problem that my Williams SD90 were acting sluggish and a good wipe down with denatured alcohol did the trick. They ran great then.
Thanks GIZ for the kudos in the layout. I want to hook up more lites maybe next week?
DOUG M. yes the figures are from scenic express, got them over the summer they had a sale on em.
All have agood one.
BEARS win!!!! Beat the Jets wasn't pretty but they did win 9-1.

Morning all!
Cool and sunny here. 60's for today. Provides some balance to Kevin's weather report!
Prepping for Thanksgiving.
Mike C. I don't know about you and the others, but I have become somewhat bored with most of the last NASCAR races ending in a green-yellow 2 lap dash. It is becoming like basketball. No reason to run the whole race. Just the last two laps. I also agree with the drivers comments that all these 500 mile races are a bit much. Too much stress on the motors. Go back to 300/350 miles and let them run!
Laz - It took a while to edit your photo post and I used the [IMG.] [/IMG.] command (delete the periods I inserted). This is not a drag and drop operation. You have to copy the path to the photos and paste it between the img commands.
Nice post by Dave on John's layout and home. Nice place you have there John!
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
ROY, on my wifes computer I use thing, it shows on the reply box ok but when you post something totally different comes up.
It is sunny bright outside today, but it is chilly.
What a great weekend in Buckeyeland. Our economy is sure to improve which only means one thing, I will be able to purchase more trains.
I did have some time to work on and run the trains. Also, won a new car on eBay for the garden circus train. You will see it in the spring, but it has taken me about three years to find it at a price I would pay. New brick arrived today.
As to Michigan,.....ONE and DONE. No more chances to be No. 1 this year. I personally would love to see ND and OSU so that I can take a wad of money from Doug.
See ya down the tracks.

Noon all. Been completing my reports and photos and sending to Pro Mariner. Did stop twice to drink coffee and watch elk hunting on TV. Plan on working in train room until wife gets here. She is at her younger sister's. Seems her Britney [not Spears], or one of those names, is having puppies. All have to gather and see. Rumor has it I am suppose to get one of them. ME????
John, my Shutterfly is downloading great. Must be they cater to REBS and not Yanks. Gang, as far as picture posting, I go to Shutterfly and right click, copy, go to CTT, right click and paste. There they are.
Jim A, you are suppose to buy your COKE in a bottle and not in powder form from a guy in the hood with Yard Sale sign.
Was going to buy Buckeye a Cabela's cap but, after the game Saturday, they did not have a size large enough.
Have a great day. Later.

Just read a few of the posts from yesterday, but I'm in a hurry - going to the doctor. Can't hear out of the left side this morning and the right ear is going plus headache and ear hurts a lot - hopefully get some good drugs or something. Hate to be sick for Thanksgiving!
Sorry, don't follow the St. Louis Rams. The last St. Louis football game I watched was about 30 years ago.
More later
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
The final score for the OSU-Michigan game was 42-39.
Ten minutes after the game ended, the Ohio Lottery Pick Four Numbers were 4-2-3-9 .
Just another isolated incident ??????????????????????
jaabat wrote:Saturday night we hosted a family get together after a church service. There were some 30 people of all ages at my home and all of them wanted to see the trains run. So there we were, 30 people in my basement. Watching the trains run around the layout. As I looked around, I noticed that every single face had a smile on it. Every single face! The next day, I saw three of those faces at the train show and they had bought trains based on what they saw in our basement the night before!
Jim, this happens at my house all the time and you are right, they all are smiling.

GREAT IDEA!
Turns out I'm impacted in the head. Now, many of you would have immediately leaped to a conclusion, especially those who know me better than others. But, it's just WAX! Nurse Practitioner tried to blow it out with a Water PICK! After about the 3rd try, she told me to put drops in both ears for a week or so and then come back. Now, I can hear a little on the right and a little on the left, but my left ear hurts like crazy and it sounds like a freight train is running through my head. Great day.
One more day and then I'm off until next Monday! Lost all my ebay bids again - oh well. One of these days I'll win one of these sawmills!
ModelTrainLover wrote:hey guys... I have a question for those of you who have been into the hobby scence your days in middle school or junor high. Have you ever been teased just because you like trains?
ModelTrainLover my self being 13 I have been teased for that but the reason is that some kids dont understand trains and dont know about trains so they feel stupid and make fun of what the dont understand. Buckeye the Buckeyes are goin all the way this season,But what would I know I live in Upstate NY.

Good evening,
Model train lover, Not that I remember, although I didn’t get into trains until high school, before that it was all model airplanes. Of course that was 50+ years ago and things have changed quite a bit since then.
Laz, I forgot to mention the nice pictures on my previous post. Great job. BTW that T-1 you saw at Barry’s must have been the one that was returned due to the white rims.
Don, I am interested in the black box for recording from an audio source to CD. I usually try to get to a computer show or two each Winter, although we don’t seem to have as many in our area as we did at one time.
ModelTrainLover,
Having graduated high school in 2005, I can tell you that I was also teased for this. But, it was not really a suprise considering the suspects. They were the type that got suspended the day they returned from a previous suspension, the type who always bragged about drinking and taking drugs among other things. They somehow thought that I was wrong because of my hobby. If this is wrong, I don't want to be right. If I was "right" like them, I don't think I would have too long to live, considering the choices they made. In short, don't let them bother you. You should be proud of the fact that you are staying away from many things that could kill you or have you locked up. You should also be proud that you are part of something whose greatness they will never know.

JOHN,
You are right on the return of the T1. MIKE told me the guy didn't like the white rims. I think you got a real winner there. Hope you are enjoying it. My wife is going to go down to BARRYs this Saturday to pick up my LionMaster Cab forward. I'll be up at my MOMs for deer season so she gets to go there and get my stuff. Oh by the way you should be getting a flier from BARRY of his Black Friday sale. He told me some of the stuff on sale but the one that jumps out at me is the Lionel Hot Box es are getting blown out at $50.00. I'm asking the wife to pick one of those up for me too. If you don't get the flier go over and see what he has. If I get it I'll email it to you.
Have a good one.

Yes I get ribbed by my 7th and 8th graders about playing with trains, but my HS kids think its cool.
