Whew I don't think need anymore train stuff. BAD NEWS --- Arnies, my favorite LHS, announced his annual 20% off sale starting this week, AND Cal Stewart meet this weekend. (The biggest train show on the west coast), I may be in trouble..
Don, You may need that second floor on the garage after all.
Played checkers with the 5 year old this morning and almost lost to her. Guess I need to practice a little. Also held the 2 week old a little but then Mom decided she needed to be fed and woke her up!
Ran the H-3 with a coal train (6 die cast hoppers) for a while. This loco is rated at 042 curves by MTH but it runs fine on my middle loop which is 031, go figure.\
Just got a phone call from Don Baker wishing me a happy birthday. Thanks Don.

Good morning all,
It is cloudy and almost mild in SE Indiana with rain and temps in the 40s all day today. I cleaned the gutters for the last time hopefully and gathered leaves for the next to last time. There is one tree (hard maple) that usually waits until December to shed its leaves, but this year has lost most of them already. There are some left, but they should not blow around too much. I received the latest MTH catalogs yesterday, and the Tinplate book is my "wish" book. I may be interested in some of the 300 series passenger cars, depending on their size and the numbers on them. I will wait until they are produced before getting them. I also went to the Y, and we watched "Veronica Mars" last night. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
MartyE wrote:Well Chief there goes the airline... woke up to that merger news. Delta?!?!?! YUK. Any ways weather here is pretty nice for November. Looking to paint the East wall ok Kodiak Junction. Work is progressing slow but nicely. Looks like most work will be wrapped up a few weeks before the holidays.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cloudy 38 degrees, going up to 55, today with maybe showers, later. It would be nice to see the sun shine.
Jim ( jaabat )....That is very true about the American auto makers. Most steel companies have gone. So have most tire companies.
Well, today I have a few chores to do, then I will be working on my layout. I want to cut some wood for supports and see what happens .
The Holidays are coming up fast. Pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving.
Boarding the Dining Car for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Wednesday.

Good morning from a grey and cold Chicago (notice a trend?) where the high will be in the 40s and we haven't seen the sun in a week (notice another trend?).Kevin T, the forum software doesn't like Safari very much. I have a Mac at home and will experiment with the send-mail check box. Of course, works fine on a PC. Send an email to Kalmbach about it. I find they are pretty responsive.
Chief and Marty - what happens to all your frequent flyer miles where an airline goes away or gets merged?John, That T1 sounds great. Is it the ones that the Reading used to run? I think I've seen photos with white-outline drivers. Yes, here it is, in the inagural issue (from 1999) I have of Classic Trains - a nice big article on them.Jim A, I shared your joke with my bride (who happens to be blond). She laughed, which is a good sign. How are you making that nifty To The Trains sign?to Jim F. I am 43 too - until May (at least I think I am).

Gee, with all this talk of mergers, we may end up with the Fed taking over all passenger air travel and call it "AirAmerica" Anyway, home computer caught a virus and I had to flush the system. I hope to have it up and running in another day or so. I had backed up the computer on to a separate hard drive (external) about 2 months ago, so we only lost the last set of pictures that we had of the kids at the circus
MIL has gone home and now I can continue on the layout. Hope to frame the access holes and lay the extruded foam today. Then the wiring and hope to run trains soon. Will also work on the scenery as we go.
Have a blessed day.

Marty, lets look at it like the cup is half full instead of half empty. More routes to more cities and more coverage. US Airways and America West merger opened routes to the west for US Airways. My latest experiences with US Airways has been very positive. I guess upgrades to the bigt seats helps. I'm fly AA to Omaha with the "comoners" and regreting it already. Should have bought US Airways and not saved the company a $100. Guess I am company minded. Doug M, when US Airways and America West merged, everyone's FF miles transfered. I have vocher for a free $100 issued on AW by US A. Some of the tickets were US A and some were AW. I think they are all US A now. Planes have not been repainted. Delta has screwed up my tickets and flights were not good the last two times I flew them. In fact Delta was contracting some flights with NW. Not impressed with them either. Mainly rude Yankees. [really!, I was flying from NH to Minn. MN and to Boise. NW guy in NH was real rude. That was part of the Delta ticket screw up.]
Cloudy and warm. Washing final load of clothes for trip. "Basically" packed and boarding passes printed. Want to work in train room and get those light fixtures mounted. County meeting at 4 PM to 6 PM. BTW: New England Yank seems to have never heard of eating chicken livers. Wife ate the ones boiled in bar-be-que sause last night. I eat them fried. Love fried chicken gizzards the best. Someone raised my bid on the ZW on ChooChoo. Glad he did. Have a great day.

DOUG,
If thats MURPHYs LAW then why don't you change it? You are a MURPHY?
Hey all,
Its good to see your alll still here in one piece.
Been kinda busy since August, with the vacations and moving into the new job.
Take care n all that.
Good afternoon all,
Drew, Nice to see you back, we need all the PA guys we can get to counter the Ohio crowd.
Does anyone know what happened to Chris (TheTrainMaster) He used to check in almost daily, not been on for a while.
Spent the morning working at church with two other retired guys. Installed new data & phone lines for new visitation minister's office.
Making dinner for the bride this evening, Cornish Hens, wild rice, cauliflower & snap peas.
This evening will be helping (wiring) on the new display layout for Cool Trains Hobby Shop.
Taking a coffee break right now.
Good Afternoon Everyone !!
Good to see Drew back also !! I was just wondering about where he had gone, too, the other day !! Now, as John said, where is Chris ? !!
I see Jim F had a birthday !! JIM, though late, we didn't know !! I want to say I'm the same age too, but I'll just say I was once that age !!
Helped my friend with his layout for his Grandsons last night, & have one table about done. Going to make the next so in time for his birthday in Feb. We put a carpet down on the ping pong table & showed my buddy how much quieter the fastrack would be. Both of us have bad hearing, but I know it's quieter on that carpet !! He agreed a little !!
Well, off to the diner car now, hope all have a nice evening !!
Thanks, John
Evenin' All,
to all the B'day boys. Been mostly lurking lately and not posting, new pills are making me a whole bunch GOOFIER than I am normally and even dizzy (w/out being a blonde). Today I did break out the new AT&SF Ten Wheeler to try out the MTH track and the loco. The loco is SWWWEEEETTTT !!!!!!! Not sure about the track though, seems not to easy to assemble, the outer rail alignment was perfect but the center rail had some hi/low issues although it looks pretty good. Now I need to find the passenger cars and a couple of more freight cars to go with the loco. Can't wait to take it to the museum.

AKKevinT wrote: This email thing is a tough one to figure out. This morning I had another thrity emails or so since last night from the CTT forum. I noticed in my forum user PROFILE under EMAIL OPTIONS (for forum only) the first setting is called "Receiving Emails" with either a "Yes" or "No" option. Everytime I set it to "No" and smack the save changes button it says changes made can take up to ten minutes to take place. (I am pretty sure this is where all the emails are being triggered from.) Then I go back to forum and read a couple posts then check my PROFILE again and find the "Receiving Emails" setting has been changed back to "Yes" from "No". So if any of you guys reading this use a Mac could you check your profile and tell me what your setting is in the "Receiving Emails" options category is. I have used Firefox and Camino browsers and both respond the same setting always defaults back to "Yes". I will try Safari browser after posting this message.
