Think I'll take that coffee and then have some country ham biscuits. Spent all yesterday running around Raleigh and etc. Maybe some chores today and meet with police chief about getting an extra policeman [Town Manager not too happy with this idea]. Also get the City of Raleigh's utilities man to fix my pond path they destroyed when they mowed the sewer outfall. I'd better get busy!!!! Town Board tonight. God bless all.

Ummm, country ham biscuits sound tasty. Another beautiful day here - supposed to be in the 80s. Indian summer indeed. Boy, it's fun to stooge around the postwar Lionel site others on this forum have mentioned...did that during lunchtime yesterday. http://www.postwarlionel.com/

Doug, did you get your new wire soldered? Be sure to solder a set of wires between each switch.

Not yet, have the wire, the iron and the solder, and the picture you sent me but not the chance yet to try it out - I plan to experiment first on an old piece of track. I think I'll lay some more ballast first too.

Boy, what a letdown on the History Channel. I hope they have a follw-up program to the Deep Sea Dectectives on the steamers they found. Would love to see them brought to the surface.[^]

Doug,

I've been super busy outside since Sat. so I missed your post (until now) about Grand Lake, CO. Couldn't agree with you more. I have a sister in-law and hubby that live on Lake Grandby so we know the area very well. We were lucky to have free housing for all the years are kids were young so we were able to ski cheaply and the hiking in the summer is the best any where, the only problem is that the summers are extremely short.

Last Christmas vacation the whole clan gathered out there. At the end of the day the ski train was honking it's horn and I took off running so I could see the train, everybody got a good laugh on me for running that fast in ski boots. If you've ever skiied you know how hard it is to walk in those things, let alone run. Hey, I have my priorities!

Hey, our local PBS station had 2 hours of Great Scenic Railway Journeys tonight - sponsored by Kalmbach...a nice look at scenic railways across the country. What a pleasant evening. I hadn't seen it before.

Jon, When we lived there my wife and I didn't ski, not until we came back to SoCal, Go Figure[%-)]. Our daughter started skiing when we were there, for a month or two the whole school, she was in first or second grade at the time, would go to the slopes once a week for their PE. I thought it was a fabulous program plus we were able to rent her skis and boots from the Rotary Club for next to nothing. By the way have you tried the newer parabolic skis, they are awesome. Unfortunately my knees aren't what they used to be so we haven't gone for awhile and when we do I try to stick the long and wide cruising runs. One of our favorite places was Park City, pre-Olympics of course. [^]

BTW, if any of you wi***o upgrade you memory cards for you camera, a place called Tirgerdirect is having a sale on them. I just bought a SD card at 256mb for $10.00.

It going to be a Blue Clear Sky Day for the first day of Fall here in NE Ohio, temp at 6:00 am was 62 deg with a high in the mid 70’s, sounds like yesterday again.

Pick of the Day

I always take pics in front of this station, but never of the station, so here is the station without any cars.

All have a safe day

Doug, You ought to try snowboarding. My daughter talked me into it last year. Wellllll I ate it everytime I got off the lift. I have gone back to skis, too many falls for this old man. I did buy me some rock skis at Goodwill to ski the 1.9 miles from my front door to the mailbox. Only problem is getting back up..........Tim

Re-pipe = Replace all the livewell pumps [2] and livewell valves [2] and thru hulls [3] and over flow line [1] and bilge pump [1] and drain plug [1, plastic with plastic screw in plug with holding "T" so it does not fall out of hole when unscrewed]. Was testing a battery fill kit for a company and it over flowed acid into bilge and made all the plastic brittle and they broke. Got all new stuff [free][latest design with quick disconnects] and giving me new batteries [nothing wrong with these]. I doing the work though. I want it done right and I really enjoy rigging boats. Now for dinner. Batch'n it so got to get my own. Mowed my yard and both neighbor's this AM. Now getting time for CSI NY [10:00 EDT, the new series]. [:D]

Where have all the trains gone? Everyone is quite. Jsut returned from public hearing on a waste water treatment plant dumping more nitrates in the lake and river. Funny. The facility is owned by the state and is permitted by the state. Fox watching the hen house. Later and God bless.

Hey Penncentral 8885,
I go fishing at Patoka Lake just south of French Lick and Baden Springs. I've seen the railroad there, but have never stopped to look around. Sorry to see French Lick Liquors had closed.[:D]

Another beautiful day here - this is getting dull to write as much as it may be to read - how un-Chicago-like. I expect it to change suddenly to winter soon... I am looking forward to going to a KLine Fall Fair day - at the closest dealer to me about 2 hours away -that won't be until a December weekend. And the timing, given the expected size of the Christmas budget, doesn't look favorable. Have any of you ever been to one? I'm re-reading some older CTTs on wiring accessories.

Morning gang. Doug, you are getting this wiring thing "down pat". 1885, don't snore too much. Don't need any extra wind down south. Too many hurricanes running around. Buckeye talks big fish but do not see any. [;)] Buckeye, buddy of mine in Texas is buying a new Ranger bass boat today. [:D] Now Tom, where is our pictures for the day? Seems you are getting slack around here. Dr. John, Dave and pigseye are goofing off too, I guess. God bless all.

Hey guys, we have another hurricane aimed at us here....you know, Jeanne...the one that almost disappeared after Haiti, floated around in the ocean and was not going to be a threat to us? Yeah, that one. Got the shutters up, getting ready to fill the bathtub with water etc., etc. Just getting over the last one and school hasn't even restarted yet north of here since Frances. Funny how the builder's salespeople didn't tell us about this kind of thing when we moved here. Good luck to all on the east coast. Please keep us in your prayers everyone.
