Howwwdeee, If I may use the words of Minnie Pearl, showing my age I guess. Beautiful weather of late but it do make the kitchen a tad warm with the cookin. Corn bread out of the oven and cooling for tomorrow's turkey & stuffing, starting the bread dough later so it can be in the fridge and ready to go tomorrow.
Don't know how anybody can handle the traffic in SoCal on a daily basis, if I was still commuting the 30 miles I used to I'd be in an asylum permanently.

The forum is really picking up in activity. In the prox 24 hours since I checked in last I sure had a lot to read.
A happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
We will be having 14 for dinner tomorrow so we will have a lot of activity as there will be 6 kids from one month to 13 years.

Roy, Buckeye says, "NO" on 7.0. It tried to install itself the other night and I hit cancel. Rechecked with Buckeye and he says, "NO".

Just got done running trains and NO pile ups. Great nite. Me and my girl, JANE DOG, ran them for 3 hrs., no pile ups.
AKKEVIN, yes we do have our share of black bears here but you have the GRIZZLES there. I don't know if I want to switch. Had lots of encounters while backpacking in NY and California(kings canyon area) these blackies can get real mean sometimes. In a short story me and my wife swam out of it ok, in both places. Thank GOD.
I'll be up at MOMs til Monday so all YUZ GIZ have a very good THANKSGIVING and don't forget, no matter how much you eat, get out and take a nice walk fo 30 minutes. It will do you good. If not at least it will get you away for everyone.

It's a frosty, sunny 26 degrees. Going up to 58 and sunny.
Today, I have a lot to be thankful for. Having you guys, on the Forum, as my friends is one of them. You were there for me , in my time of need. And it helped me greatly. I want to Thank all of you.
Today, we will take a ride to Zanesville, for Thanksgiving Dinner. I am looking forward to it. It looks like a nice day for a drive.

After I get off line I'll head out to the barn and finish building a stand for the Christmas Tree to be set on. It'll become "Christmas Mountain". In addition to the tree there is a shelve (ledge) for several small ceramic houses before going down to floor level where the main group of houses will set and the loop of track will weave it's way around the tree and into the sun room. If we get home at a reasonable hour, going over friends for dinner this afternoon, I guess we'll start pulling decoration out of storage and putting things up.
Yesterday evening I finally, I hope, finished the kitbashed station for the client. Its his recollections using what is still existant of the SAL station here in Athens. I'm just glad I'm not the one paying for it. Looks like this project may continue on into next year, every time I think the end is in sight he changes his mind about something or wants something more. For example, I made a small toggle switch panel with 9 switches for lights, I've already changed the connections and lables 3 times and will be doing it again tomorrow. There have been few items that this has not occured.
I hope that those of you in the construction phase of your layouts are more decisive than he. Chief should have no problem since he's been in the planning stages for so long. (Couldn't resist the dig of a fellow REB)

Gobble Gobble The Turkey? No me eating all the goooood fooood. Cooking turnips to take to MIL's. Remember this is NATIONAL GRITS DAY too. WHY??? The Indians had corn [not wheat that the Europeans brought over]. So, corn = GRITS. The first Thanksgiving had Turkey and GRITS, Shrimp and GRITS, Ham and GRITS, Venison and GRITS, Chicken and GRITS, Eggs and GRITS, Cheese and GRITS and ......... Can not play with trains today. Trains came later.

Just as Chuck said, I am thankful for everyone here on the forum. You guys have been so nice, and were very welcoming when I first joined.
Today we will have some family over, and tomorrow, my cousins from Kentucky will be coming here. I was supposed to meet Buckeye tomorrow, but I just found out that the cousins were coming when I got his email.
Doug - darn right I do. They've probably cost him at least 3 days extra charges and extended the project that many weeks, I work at his house only on Fridays.
Finished the table/stand for the Christmas Tree, time to start getting ready to head out to friends for dinner, MMMMMMM!

Picked up some Sculpey and some aluminum screen material - going to try and make a small porcelain building for the layout - maybe add a lightbulb etc - will post some pics once we get it started.

Had a great Thanksgiving here, hope all of you have had the same.
Spent some time holding & rocking the 3-1/2 week old granddaughter.
Had way to much to eat. Things have settled down a little bit & BTW the Christamas train with the candy cars was a hit with the younger ones. I just realized the the Christmas car that I rigged with the string of miniture LED lamps from Lemax was still turned on. Has been on for about 8 hours and still bright using a pair of AA cells. Probably had that many hours before today.
Laz, Guess I will visit Barry's tomorrow to see what is on sale. Don't have a lot left in my train budget after the T-1 & with the stuff I have preordered from MTH, Weaver & Atlas.

Just got home from visiting for Thanksgiving dinner. We had turkey with all the fixin's with pecan and pumpkin pie for dessert. Your's truely had to do the carving, seems none of the younger set have learned the art. Since the woman whose house we were over is alone the leftovers get to go home with family and friends, we got half of the pies that were left, here comes the start of the extra weight for the holidays.

and so far all we have had is cold temps, NO snow so far. last winter we had 50* temps in January. this winter I'm hopping for BLIZZARD CONDICTIONS!

John, In your visits to Barry's have you ever seen the Presidential Overton by MTH ? I've been looking around and haven't found any available anywhere. That would be a good addition to the AT&SF Overton's I have on order.
Tomorrow should be a crazy day at the museum, the kids club is running the layout all day.

It is a sunny 24 degrees outside, going up to a sunny 60 today. That is a nice day in the making.
Today, I will decorate the outdoor fir trees with lights. I have strung the extension cords and checked them out. I have 10 trees to do.. I will take some pictures and post them.
Observation.....Chief is full of GRITS !!!!
