Jim, I hearya. I haven't even been home a week from Fla. Hopefully I can get some other family members to stay with or evacuate our elders from the Daytona area. I spent three weeks there and trying to find another short notice fare to fly back is virtually impossible. I got there shortly after Charley and came back last weekend. After Frances CSX reported over 300 trees down across their tracks so if Jeanne has near the same strength I'd bet will be a whole worse.
Chief, You better get those batteries back in the boat pretty quick, might need it.

Hi Guys,

TGIF – It’s finally here. The last two days, work has become W@%$&!*(&$%K. I hate when work gets in the way of my hobby.

Well, Chief, you wanted to push Ivan to Taxes, so he came back around for you and of course here comes Jeanne. LOL.

Buckeye, great looking fish, although I do believe that Lake Erie has larger ones.

Let see, Oh yea, Pick of the Day

another 19th Century Refer Car

The last couple of nights, there has been a lot of train traffic on the CSX and NS mainlines here on the waterline. I can here a train about every 12 minutes. And of course this is all night long.

All be safe,

tom

I have read this entire thread and finally have a legitimate reason to post on it. Wife and I went to a K-Line Fall Fair Days event at Trading Post Trains in Cleveland last year. Weather was quite warm then too. There was a K-Line rep there with a nice display of product. Ended up purchasing a PRR Mikado, nice engine. Trading Post isn't on the list of places participating this year. Have ordered three of the K-Line reefers this year as there are far two many engines in the collection.

Hi GregM

If you are in NE Ohio sometime, you are more than welcome to stop by and play trains with me.[:D]

Is the Trading Post the one on State Road. (maybe W25th street) [?]

BTW, there will be a big train show next weekend, Oct 2 and 3, in Berea.

Tom,

Thanks for the offer. Always enjoy visiting with other train folks.

Dug out the receipt from Trading Post Train Shop, its located at 4394 Pearl Road.

I have been thinking about going to the TCA meet near Pittsburgh this weekend. Probably won't since were going to York and that's just a couple of weeks away.

Thanks for looking it up Greg.
Pearl Road turns into W25 th St on the North end. State is the next main street west of Pearl. It has been a while since I have been there.

What part of the Buckeye State do you live in?

Good Morning all,

It’s a cloudy morning in NE Ohio, temp 65 with a high in the mid 70’s. Can’t complain, it will be better than what our family and friends in Florida will have.

Greg, you should plan on going to the train show next weekend, maybe we can get a forum meeting set up, Buckeye might come up for it. Maybe we can even get Nitroboy to come and Rich H.

Pick of the Day

All have a great day

1K posts for the Chief. Hurrah! Nothing like a 15 degree drop in temperature overnight to remind one that summer is over - bright skies today - supposed to top out at 70. A buddy wants me to go biking with him today - he's the type to think nothing of biking deep into Wisconsin...my bike is strung with cobwebs and hanging from the garage ceiling...but it would be good for me....hmmm. The library called to say they can't find a book I already returned - and it's $30 too. Sigh.

Off to church - a beautiful if cooler day. Yesterday, I biked 12 miles along the UP line to McHenry (IL). Hope to take some photos today - my wife wants to take our family Christmas picture already. The library called to say they've found the book - that's never happened - I feel reprieved...like I 'saved' $30 that I can now go out and spend on track....

Tom, That is a good link to check out. They have a great team at that station, they were rite-on with their projected paths long before any of the other sources. Hats Off to their weather team. [bow]
P.S. When I was down there earlier this month I had a chance to stop by Roundhouse South. Seem like a real nice bunch of folks even though the store was kinda temporarily chaotic, hurricane preparations and post hurricane cleanup, and one of the K-Line designers lives in the area and will be in house during Fall Fair event.[tup]

Doug - My brother lives just east of Orlando, about where the 9 is on the weather map. He watches this channel all the time.

I talk to him this morning, so far so good. He still had electiric, winds at 60 plus and about 3 inches of rain.

Good morning from Central Ohio. Going to be nice day.

Tom, I won't be able to make the train show us north this weekend. On Saturday, I will be reseeding and patching my lawn and on Sunday I will be working at a benefit for a charity. Always keep me posted on the train show circuit in northern Ohio and I will do the same for central.

Chief, you are going to get wet. Have you ever considered a garden railroad that runs in the rain and floods?

Penncentral, Have you ever heard of Whitestown, Indiana? I went to 1st - 4th grades there in the 1950s.

Morning gang. Misting rain. One of those sleepy days. [|)] Buckeye, anything up there is up NAWTH ["train show circuit in northern Ohio"]. Tom, waiting for today's picture. Think I'll email Dr. John. He checked in after the hurricane and then no word. Have a good day at W--K [ugly word]. God bless all.

A cool, beautiful day today. I had to get dressed to go to the work in the dark - made it all the way to work when I glanced down and realized I'm wearing two different colored shoes - ah, this is not a good omen for the day. Let's see if anyone notices. And it would be on a day I have many meetings...well, don't tell my wife... I did get the new CTT on Sat. I save it to read on the train. It looks like a good issue...I have to search today on how to resubscribe. I get two O magazines but can only afford one for the next year...
