Kurt, believe it or not, that stuff is too small.  Even the older Lionel coak is too small.  The gearing in the rotary would jam up in a jif.  I'd say we would need to start in the bead section.

LOOKS good KURT.  I don't know if I can use it for the rotary tipple?  They recomend the Lionel tipple coal, the stuff that looks like rat turs, so says DA CHIEF.

Thanks KURT,

FIFE,

I only got a few boxes from him.  BOY RAISINETTES, I like GOOBERS.  Wish you could munch on them?  I'll have my eyes peeled for them at YORK.  The tipple coal that is.

Evenin' boys.  Evenin' English.  Rain and 38 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Jonadel - Feel free to pick me up on the way down to KW.  I can buy drinkemups for you all week.

laz - $1 an oz for black plastic raisenetts!? Shock  Does LIONEL have an AREA 51 somewhere?  We're gonna have to hit the aisles of the local craft stores and find a suitable substitute.

Phillyreading/anjdevil - I like the bright color schemes on some of the FEC locos, but I think they are missing something...

Chief--sent you an email with our dates in KW.  We are actually flying into Ft. Liquordale and renting a car, we have family in Orlando, Davie & Vero Beach.  Not sure if we will make it to Orlando, we were there last year and they have 3 kids all under 5............... 2 keepers and one Holy Terror Evil  he's the middle one and I really like him but he makes life MISERABLE for his older brother and younger sister and parents won't discipline him, all he needs are some parameters and consequences, it's not rocket science.

REALLY looking forward to KW, we were there one day years ago on a cruise ship, loved it.  The warm temps will be good for the old bones.

I'm glad Jack is OK.

Boy, what Jim and Kurt noted sure resonate with me. My bride and I find ourselves overcommitted in ministry as the year begins - much as I love video, I can't work ten hours every Sunday through April and she's leading or involved in three ministries - drama, prayer and jr high / HS. So we'll be working this out.

I figured out I 'rented-to-own' the TV that's now in the bedroom back in fall 1985 - that's a long time. It is miraculously able to work with the ATT box which connected to the only connections on it - for an external antenna - no remote though because it never had one - just the dial. LOL

Lee:  We have the same TV.  Ours did a similar thing a few years ago, and it cost us 3 beans to get it fixed.  Better than buying a new one.  I still have my first sony 20" 18 years and still strong.

Kurt

Kurt: I have an extra TV that I am subbing right now. The Sony Trinitron will cost between $285.00 & $485.00 to repair or $60.00 to send it to junkman. By the way what is three beens? Is it $300.00?

Morning all.  Why am I so late posting????

I HAVE BEEN OUT TALKED!!!!!!!!  This REB lost that battle to a Yankee. Shock  I know, you can not believe it.

Jack [Rock Island 52] returned my call.  For over an hour we chatted.  Wonderful guy.  He is OK.  Had a few "upsets" in the past months but he can explain if he wants too.  His wife [he] does have a new puppy. Laugh

Sir J, wife has a good organization for kids.

Dennis, good luck with the nomination for the movie.

Jon, when are you going to KW?  Love it there.  Trying to get wife to go on my airline miles and Holiday Inn points.  She does not like flying into that little airport on a small plane.

BTW: I am not superstitious as booked flight to New Orleans on Friday 13th.

Jim, that's the difference between a "airbag" and a "windbag"!

Just read an article in the paper that "Fireproof" is one of the 8 finallists in a film contest.  The chances of it winning are very good, but I understand the other 7 movies are very good as well.  Either way, it is an honor that it was thought of so well.

Good Morning from cloudy Southern Ohio,

The weather here is to turn nasty, just in time to start night shift tomorrow.  I went to Columbus yesterday evening to pick up the bride coming home from Florida.  Rained all the way up and back.  I did finish taking down the last of the Christmas decorations yesterday and have them put away.

Kurt – I can identify with your dilemma of balancing family and ministry time.  It is a challenge and I cannot say I have successfully responded all the time.  The scripture for the Jan 31/Feb 1 weekend Masses is from Corinthians 7:32-35 where Paul talks about the struggle of ministry and marriage, and I have been asked to do the homily that weekend.  What does go through my head is the saying, “If Momma isn’t happy, nobody is happy”.

Jim F – Glad sis is OK.  I guess there are good AIR BAGS, oh that was not niceBlushSmile,Wink, & Grin

Buckeye – That is a nice car you sent.  Is it Wes’s?

Well I have work to do for services this evening

May God bless

Jim

looking to be a long day of it here.  Hospital is full and they are having difficulty finding rooms for the patients.  They will eventually get them, but it will make the cases drag out while waiting.

Glad everyone has been OK through the storms, etc.  Just waiting on word from RockIsland.

Looks like I may actually get some layout work done this weekend, should they not bother me with emergencies, but if so, it'll happen another time.  If I get out on time tonight, have to make it to the church as we have to learn some new programming with the new light board.

God Bless,

dennis

Good Morning,

Sunny and near 74 this morning in West Palm Beach FL area. Expecting some cold weather tonight, anjdevil will see more of the cold than me as he lives about 200 miles further north.

Getting a little extra pay for working both holidays but will need to put it toward bill paying. Still hoping to do the train show near Pompano FL, Hillsboro Road Amtrac station, on the 24th of this month.

The train that anjdevil mentioned in his post may even come down as far as Jupiter or Tequesta FL to service the cement plants, I think they haul sand for the major cement plants on the east coast of Florida. If FEC has more than one engine there is a good chance it is going to NW 36th street, a major loading and unloading area for both FEC & CSX, in Miama near the sea port. Another area that FEC goes to for sand is out in west Broward near the sand mining area to fill their hopper cars.

While I am at I forgot to mention that the new remote control don't work with my Panasonic TV, also the video control box only works on one input. I think I may try the Sony TV again and see what happens.

Morning all. Cold, grey and snowy - not much though. Got started with another class last night. Good bunch of students. Had a nice chat with my favorite old-head conductor on the milk run home. He told me his dad designed the old IC logo when he was with them in marketing. I'll have to research this a bit more. Brutus, good news about your sis. You gave me a good idea on how to cope with my lack of lock-ons by using spade connectors. I think I have a few of those. Glad RIch is getting more money for trains.

Here's something I found funny from my youngest's school - a reminder that when its 0-15 degrees out, outside recess will only be 20 minutes. These Illinois kids sure get toughened up.

Hey,

Was sunny and 60 this morning and now is raining windy and getting cooler now.

Had my meeting with the boss and I didn't get recompenced like I should have so a little more cash
in the next paycheck will be nice....

Nothing train worthy yet, excepting I stopped at the FEC crossing and a short train with hoppers (sand and or phosphorous?) and double door boxcars.  Engine #421 was pulling, must have been a local, since it was so short.

Will check in later, multiple issues have reared their collective ugly heads, so more craziness abounds.

And what happened to Extreme Trains last night?  I actually stayed up to see it an nothing?

Later!

Like Mr. Eagles, we just booked flights for Key West and just about fell over with the very reasonable costs of flying, certainly a wonderful surprise.

If you have an extra 4 minutes today, here's a wonderful story, there still are great people out there.  You won't be disappointed.

HI GYZ,

31 and freezing rain here.  Started out last nite and got a call at 10PM saying 2hr delay.  This morning got a call and we are now closed.  Oh well gonna play with trains today.  I got some tipple coal from GRYZBOSKIS yesterday.  WOW did they sock it to me.  $24.99 a bag, thats 24 ounces.  A buck an ounce!  Better then copper or brass, how would have thought plastic would be sooo expensive.  Lionel said they are not or are dropping making the Tipple Coal, so I guess supply and demand?

CHIEF, called MS EDNA yesterday and said you recommended me.  She said your a good boy.

BUCKEYE did the sun come out yet?

BRUTUS, glad SIS is ok.

Stay FROSTY,

Good morning all,

It is cloudy and cold in SE Indiana but made it to work ok.  Did the usual workout at the YMCA.  Did some Second Life.  Worked on a building set I eBayed before Christmas.  Good ride on the Tardis last night.  Flew over St. Louis and saw some of the traffic difficulties, which were the same as Indy.  I had the usual fare on the dining car for breakfast.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Morning all!

Sorry I missed the Tardis ride last night.  Fell asleep with 4-yo watching Goofy Movie at 8:30.  Woke up at 9:00 and shuffled them and me off to bed.

Brutus:  Glad your sister is ok!

Awaiting DirectTV visit for HD today....I hope....Found a charge yesterday for a PPV movie we didn't watch...Customer service said it was from 2007, as they just couldn't communicate with box until now.  Nothing changed on our part.  I told them that was crazy, and they agreed to a $5 credit.

Almost forgot...Bride put her foot down, and restricted me to 2-weekends a month for Youth Group sound at Church, as I miss going to both adult services.  I told them I'd be there for band days, and will have someone else do recorded music.  I spoke to the Worship Team Leader, Sunday am, and he aked me to get into the Sound rotation for the main Auditorium.  Flattered, I respectfully declined, until I was able to get the Youth Group a stable sound team.

Yep, sister is a-okay, so it's allright, nothing money and insurance can't replace!  Now the roads have refrozen and there is a huge accident on I55 near Arnold (home)....  They shut down the interstate so they could land a helicopter.  You would think that it wouldn't be this bad, we have had a lot worse storms than this in the past?  I guess people think the warmer weather today cleared the roads and now it's "black ice" Sad  Supposed to have flurries for tomorrow, sure hope the kids have school!

Tardis is ready and scope shows some beacons, so might have to head out now.  TTFN!
