So far for Saturday we have:
Chief
Fife
Laz
JohnF
Mitch
Myself

baltimoretrainworks - are you interested in attending the gathering on Saturday at my place?

Still waiting to hear from Marty and Wes (if he is attending the show).

JohnandJulie is a ? - I would offer to get you into the show but I won't be there till Friday @ 12:30pm and would be a waste for you. I'm not looking to get through all the halls, I need to go through Brown and Orange. Maybe try to get through a couple smaller halls, not sure about Silver as that can take a while to go through. If Dennis from Brennan's is going I have to find out where he will be so I can pick up my order...

I am still wrangling with the social director.  The April show is more appealing to me because college football eats up my weekends in the fall so I am trying to get this to work.

I would assume it is not difficult to become a TCA member.  I was thinking of going to my LHS to have someone sponsor me.  I have heard in the past that there were tables outside of the York entrance where you could join TCA, then be able to get tickets for entry.  Is that accurate?

Regards,

John

John,
I am not aware of being able to do that because you have to have two signatures from two current members to be able to join.

The Eastern Division puts on the York shows and your membership goes through National. Last year I sent my membership form to National on the same day that I sent my check to Eastern for the show... I enclosed a photocopy of the membership application along with the York registration and they sent me my badge.

If you are going to do this, make sure you get it done ASAP.

Hello Brent:

You will have to count me out.  I go in for surgery on 4/2 and I will be laid up for about four weeks.  Maybe next year.

John,

You need a laptop and wireless router to get your fix in here during recovery.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

As stated elsewhere in this Forum, a friend of mine had two bulgers for about 10 years and out of painful exasperation got them fixed.  Ironically, a couple of months later he was back out on the golf course without missing a beat, actually straightened out some of his golfing bad habits because he could swing the club pain free.

Got a quick question for the Yorkies. The guys that went to the last meet do you recall seeing any of the RailKing passengers for installation in coaches? If so how was the pricing? I used the K-Line people, pre-bankruptcy ones, and I believe they are just a tiny bit large for the RailKing coaches. A lot of amputations to get them to fit but they still appear a bit odd.

Guess I could get a bag of the unpainted ones and just call it a ghost train. Clown [:o)]

Doug, have you tried HO people for your RailKing passenger cars?  I have heard this done, but I have not personally done it.  If you check with some of the HO guys around you, perhaps you could match them up and see if it works.

I was'nt looking for them, but I'm sure the 120 pack for $29. was there. I have over 100 of them in my RailKing streamlined cars, and am starting to put them in RailKing "Madisons". I had to clip a few toes (depends on the figure), but they look just right. If you don't want to paint them, you'll be paying a lot more for figures. Joe

Brent, Will you be printing up a few maps for us distant travelers to pass out at York?  That is assuming the event is still on with His Honor not in attendance.

Just checked the long range forcast for York week, typical PA April weather.  Daytime temps in the low 50s and nights near freezing.  Some Sun predicted for Thursday.  Of course it will change a half dozen times before then.

Having to drop out this spring.  Got big mayor's meeting and Roseyville Rec Day parade and if not here, first time Mayor has not rode in parade.  Also, with the big co-pay for recent CT, no funds to buy trains with so would not be good.  Had wanted to meet the gang again.  Had great GRITS caper planned.  Was going to buy small boxes of Cream of Wheat, open them carefully, put grits inside and reseal.  Everyone would have gotten a box of "cream of wheat". Evil [}:)]Whistling [:-^]

John,
I am still willing to host a gathering at my place on April 19th. Since Chief won't be here to hog the remote we should be able to really enjoy the trains! Smile [:)] Chief, sorry you can't make it. We will miss you, but not the grits (ok, Fife will miss the grits).

I'll be sending an email to those that expressed interest. Fife, Mitch, JohnF, and Laz. If there was someone else, please post here and I'll get them on the list.

I was thinking of starting around noon, if that is still good we'll go with that. If not we can pick another time.

Brent - Noon sounds good to me.  Sorry to hear that Chief will not be honoring us with his presence.

Chief - Maybe in the fall.  PA is beautiful in the fall.

Mrs. Buckeye says that she love the leaves in the fall, too.  Mmmmm............ I wonder how she would like to see York in the fall.

Buckeye, she would love PA in the fall and Lancaster has several outlet malls to keep her busy shopping.  York has several shopping malls as well.  BTW the new visitors center at Gettysburg has just opened and is not far from York.

I've heard the York show is spectacular. as close as I am, Bucks county Pa. I've only traveled to the local shows. So tell me about the TCA and membership. This may be a good fall trip for me and wife. Tks. for the post on this event.
