I listen to Amazon music, and it will recommend music to you based on what you've listened to in the past. When it suggested an album by a group called The Railbenders, I'll admit the name caught my eye. I pressed play and found myself liking the album.
I found their website and discovered that not only did they have a train-themed name, several of their album covers have trains on them, AND they have recorded a number of train-themed songs! And their band logo has a steam locomotive running on guitar "rails." Neat!
They're a group based out of Denver, and call themselves "hard country." Think along the lines of Charlie Daniels or Dwight Yoakum, with a slightly harder edge.
This is Lonesome Train, from their Southbound album. It has a tangy Hank Williams feel to it.
A more rocking song is Midnight Trains, from their Segundo album (also with train artwork):
If you need a "Friday night party" type of train song, try Hellbound Party Train.
They've even done a country-ish version of Ozzy's Crazy Train:
What do you think? Have you found other groups who've done train-themed music? Let us know in the comments!
