I wish I could have voted for more. I voted for Milwaukee Road because that is what I grew up seeing. However I would also list Katy, B&O, NY Central, PRR and the Chessie Kitten as all being missed.
Whoever said you cannot buy happiness forgot about puppies!

Seaboard Air Line: closest RR to where I grew up. It also ran right behind the house where my wife grew up.
Atlantic Coast Line: had a grandfather who worked for them off and on.
It isn't a "Fallen Flag", but the old paint scheme of the Florida East Coast is a favorite.

The Delaware Lackawanna RR. The "Lackawanna Cutoff" which was built in the early 1900's was shut down by Conrail in the 60's. Now they are trying to revitalize that line for commuter and freight between Scranton Pa and New York City. I have walked parts of the Cutoff and it is amazing how they built this line. Look up the Pequest Fill for a story that will amaze you.

I don't relly consider the Santa Fe a "Fallen Flag" yet. The corporate image still exists, and any time I can see a Scarlet & Silver Warbonnet pull through, I still think of it as being around.

I always enjoyed the daylight travel through the rockies and vicinity. What I miss is Great Northern's WESTERN STAR. It moved in a daylight schedule through my neck of the woods.

If you want to give a 9-year old boy an ego trip: tell him you are going to stop the streamliner just for him!!!
