G'day!
Northern Pacific - a good suggestion!
Northern Pacific train No. 25, the North Coast Limited, pulls out of Billings, Montana, circa 1960. (from: Wikipedia.com - photo: Otto Perry collection)
Enjoy!
Tom
Ahoy Cap'n Tom!
So the lonely thread continues with James pitching in as well . . . nice!
I've always liked the looks of this herald and perhaps we can get something going on the Northern Pacifc!
See ya at the bar . . .
Until the next time!
Lars
Good to see ya, James - enjoyed the Chessie Pix!
Thanx, Lars 'n BK for the Aerotrain Pix . . . . here's another!
Rock Island Aerotrain at the St. Louis Museum of Transportation (Kirkwood, MO)
G-day Tom amd all present!
I see some nice looking pictures out there. Nice Aero train pics and a nice C&O Dome car.
Now it's time for some more pics!
Now here is a colorful passenger train. This is the Chessie "Safety" Express, taken in Somerset, PA on September 13, 1981. Take a look at the second car on the train. That's Super Dome of some type.
I thought this was quite a photo. 2 SD40-2s are running light. Taken at Bloomington, MD in September of 1980. That bridge is very unique structure. Very cool.
No more Milwaukee Road pictures for this week, holding off for next Tuesday!
Happy railroading
James
Good Morning Captain Tom!
The train depicted from Lars reminds me of one I saw in Toronto many years ago. As a non-rail fan and someone who used rail as a means to get from one place to another rather than for the "ultimate" enjoyment of it all, I cannot tell you much more about it, other than it resembled the photo on this page.

BK in Alberta, Canada's beautiful high mountain country!
Domes of any stripe flick my switch!
Here's something we haven't seen for awhile . . . .

A bit late, but still here . . . Thanx James 'n Lars for the Pix!

Note the flood lights on the roof!
I read that book about the SP's Golden State getting caught in that snow. Good read!
Nice stuff from James. One would think he likes the Milwaukee Road, huh
My contribution for the day comes from a railroad where there's a family history - MINE! The B&O.
G-day Tom and all present.
I have seen some nice photos out there. Including Domes, trolleys, and the X2000.
Very nice everyone.
How about I start off with a few of my favorites.
This is near townsend, Montana. An ATSF SD40 is in the lead still in it's original blue and yellow.
One of my favorite Alcos of all time is the RS-11. I don't exactly know why but I do like the shape of it and the sound. Alcos are some of the greatest. LV RS-11 #7643 sits at a roundhouse in March of 1976.
Of course we must have a Milwaukee road picture in there somewhere. Steeple cab E82 and Little Joe E75 sit in silence waiting for there next task. locomotives aitting at Deer Lodge, Montana in August of 1947.
Nice work from Lars 'n BK . . . SP is fine with me too!
Let's keep with the SP as begun by my bookend, Lars!

G'day Cap'n Tom!
Good to see ya, Doug!
I'm thinking about Southern Pacific this morning, as our long lost friend West Coast S Dave has reappared over at the bar!
Morning guys!
That picture of the Rock Island 2555 and the location looked a little bit familiar to me, and no wonder .. it's at the Illinois Railway Museum, and I have ridden in it! Here's a link to the photo album for that car:

I'm just a bit shy on the "heavyweight" material . . . gonna have to do a bit of browsing to see what I can find. But for now, how about some DOMES
Fine looking "heavyweight" from Lars!

Carlton Street (Toronto) trolley (personal photo)
FOUR Horsemen??????? Now that's gonna require some serious thinking.
Nice trolley shots and good to see ya back in the "saddle," Rob!
Just one from me today as I'm in my "Euro" mood and thought this would make for a nice pix:
Sweden's X2000 (photo credit: unknown)
Howdy all again, nice to see things still creeping along over here. Shall we make it the 4 horsemen here's a couple new old traction pictures for today.
Two different sub calsses of TTC PCC's on St Clair Ave.

NYC Stable Mates
Hey, it's BK back from Hawaii, Australia AND New Zealand! Now THAT's a "holiday" fer sure, fer sure!
Nice looking Southerns - seen 'em many times here and at the bar, HOWEVER, they ALWAYS look good!
Lotsastuff took place while you were "goofing off" and these Pages are loaded with all kinds of Pix. We've pretty much gotten away from narratives as mostly the guys from the bar are Posting here, so we save the "chat" for "Our" Place.
Good to see Lars "in" as well and looks as if at least the 3 of us should be able to keep things movin' over here. As I've said MANY times, we're pretty much on the verge of shutting 'er down, but each time I get close to it, a resurgence of activity takes place.
Check this out to begin the day!

I see this thread is still functioning and pretty much the same as when I last visited on Dec 19th . . .
Just left the bar and thought I'd drop off a "few" before getting back to readjusting to life in the Canadian Rockies!

And just for a bit of reference, here's an elaboration from Wikipedia.com on the Delaware & Hudson . . .
Delaware and Hudson RailwayThe Delaware and Hudson Railway (D&H) (AAR reporting mark DH) is a subsidiary of the Canadian Pacific Railway, giving it access to New York City and other parts of the northeastern United States. It was formerly an important bridge line, connecting New York with Montreal, Quebec. The company started out as the Delaware and Hudson Canal, running from Kingston, New York on the Hudson River southwest to Port Jervis, New York on the Delaware River and beyond to the anthracite coal fields at Honesdale, Pennsylvania. The canal company later built a railroad, one of the first railroads in the United States, later known as the Delaware and Hudson Company and then the Delaware and Hudson Railroad until 1968. The railroad company has called itself "America's oldest continually operated transportation company".

Good to see ya Lars! Especially impressed that you've taken the time out from your vacation to drop off some material on this lonely Thread! Old habits are hard to break, eh
Let's see what to throw in . . .
Nothing since my last, so here's one more just to keep things "up" . . .
