Ahoy Cap'n Tom!
Looks like I'm the only one 'round the lonesome thread lately . . .
So, here's another just to stoke the coals . . .
Until the next time!
Lars
Back from the Keys 'n it looks like just "us" 'round here, huh?? Well at least we found ourselves a good friend from this thread . . .
My contribution for the day!
G'day!
Here's a couple from ExpoRail Canadian Railway Museum at Saint-Constant, Quebec:

Great to see DD1 over at the bar. From what I've read - you're a NATURAL for that Thread!
Now that this lonely outpost has turned into a photo posting site - here's one from today's festivities over at the bar - the 27th month anniversary of the best cyber bar in the ether!
Well, perhaps the bar has profited from this rather lonely Thread, as DD1 provided one hulluva fine Post for us . . . THANX for going over to "Our" Place!

Love those photos from Expo Rail - keep 'em comin'!
I see there's a new face 'round here - - DD1 - to our humble 'n largely quiet thread on the Classic Trains (General Discussion) forum. Wouldn't happen to be a Navy man, wudja?? <grin>
Enjoyed your input and as Tom has mentioned, I think you may find a more receptive bunch over at the Tavern by the Tracks called "Our" Place. In fact I KNOW you will.
Anyway, I'm a huge New York Central fan and can recall all kinds of trips "up river" aboard those fine, fine passenger trains of yesteryear. Lots of info "floating" around at Tom's bar along with some vivid recollections from many of the guys. Hope to see ya there!
Good to see ya DD1 'n it isn't every day we get to learn of such an experience like yours on this lonely Thread!
I've never been to Chile or ridden the rails in south America. Can only imagine what an experience that must've been. Thanx for sharing it with us!
My travels aboard the NYC were all when diesel power was used. Never had the pleasure of a 20th Century Ltd trip with a "real live" Hudson. Fine machines, eh
I'm a diesel kinda guy with a departure when it comes to the Pennsy GG1 - my most favorite of locomotives EVER! I can fully appreciated the "steamers" though, nothing can surpass their majesty on the rails!
Should you be interested, there's a cyber bar 'n grill on this Forum called "Our" Place. Many guys close to your age are involved with interesting conversation 'n fotos about Classic Trains with some fun thrown in. Join us any time you find yourself back in the Ether! <grin>
Should mention that there are plenty of fotos over at "Our" Place of steam locos from some recent trips to the St. Louis Museum of Transportation (Kirkwood, MO) 'n Expo Rail Canadian Railway Museum (Saint-Constant, Quebec). All you need to do is begin scrolling back through the Pages 'til mid-May - you may find these of intereset as well!
Later!
Thanx, Lars, for taking the time out from your vacation to keep things movin' along at this lonely Thread 'n over at the bar!

Okay guys, I'm back for pics. So this lonely little thread should perk up a little more.
Our friends done at the museum here in Duluth MN. They're getting the SOO Line GP30 #700 ready for the Pizza train.
The last Wisconsin Central SD45 to ride the rails of Wisconsin. This locomotive is a former Northern Pacific SD45, the first one to be built for them too.
Happy railroading
James
