Tom thanks for the great party thus far. I'm surly enjoying myself[;)][:p]. Hopefully our good friend Ted will make it back inin one piece[}:)][:X][:p]. I was contemplating my layout today. I've managed to amass afair fleet of streetcars so that will liley be my main focus now. Also as a birthday concession the CFO allowed me to layaway a holy grail of sorts. A Double ended street sweeper from MTS imports. Nice DT Brill quite similar to the S37 Russell sweeper at our museum[tup][^] I'm glad that you were able to deal with the daycare event earlier this evening. Hopefully it wasn't a hard feelings issue.[:(]

hey Pete thanks for the well wishes. These fife and drum guys are quite good. The wife and I purchased the CD they made in 2003 ( get it in the Fort gift shop ) I played with them the couple of summers I spent there way back when. I'm looking into the sub question you recently laid on me. Once i find an answer of sorts I'll let you know. In the meantime party on dude let me grab you a steam whistle draft imported from TO. Tom hope mines not the last bash of the year. Perhaps we need to expand intio aniversaries.

Hey Rob

We'll have other occassions to party 'round here - but as far as Birthday's go, this might be it. Yes, we'll have a 6th month party along with other milestones ... count on it.

I've gotta think about checking out. Perhaps the regulars will come through the door ...

Glad you enjoyed the Birthday Bash

See ya!

[bday] Rob [bday], wow you cut a mean polka for a "old timer."[:D] Tom has you covered for any and all drinks you may order.[tup] Let's hear a chorus of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow." Right, the 34 ballons are descending and the gals are rushing to sit on them 'til they burst for the door prize in one of them.[(-D] I thought you would approve![^] Pardon my redundency but I would like to add a second toast made earlier this afternoon. We greatfully hono(u)r our fellow Member of the "Order of the Permanent Stools," Historian extraordinair, solver of challanged cyber Cretin's woes, all 'round good Samaritan and a mainstay of the "Our" Place thread, hear, hear.[tup]

Now that Leon has extracted the last of the "Gate Crashers," [something about false I.D.?] Let the games begin! No this isn't just any "Smoker." This is a full throttle, main line "Our" Place Bash which Mentor Village shall not soon forget![:I] Water mattresses are prudently placed about the premises for those who wisely demure from driving. Mentor's "Finest" have discreetly inspected the upstairs bath tub fund.[:-^] The Mexican Pinata is in "full swing" and the Juke is free for our dancing or "Rocking" pleasure.[:D]

So, if anyone doesn't have a fine time or lacks the imagination for a cyber fling, its their own sorry "patoots" fault. That reminds me, the Rat's Patoot Room walls have been temporarily padded as a safety precaution.[:O] Okay gals, the "gangs all here," or will be shortly, so keep those "Bunny Tails" spring loaded. Tom, I'll have a Carlings Black Label for sipping my way through the crowd, if you please, thanks. Let me know if there is anything we have overlooked. Meanwhile, I'll be mingling with the guests. [bday] once again Rob and Boris, there should not be a need for any bell ringing tonight.[:D] CLANG. Godfrey Daniel, why does he hate me so?[:(!]

Oh - you're back - thought you had left (again!) ..... nice new photo - and a much better size for a signature. Don't know why guys have to use such large pix in that area ... makes no sense to me, especially where repetitive posts are concerned ... oh well.

Nah, let 'em enjoy themselves up there ..... never know what kinda of a shock it would be to interrupt whatever is going on where the old guy, Ted is concerned! [swg]

Don't sweat the small stuff Tom i apprciate you hanging out here for the hour or so[tup][swg] What friends are for don't you think[tup]. I may meander out soon myself as well. My other half is over at her sisters soaking in the outdoor hot tub with the S-I-L and her fiancee. If I happen to see Ted on the way by I'll send him back in your direction. My guess is that he was called away. Hopefully not storm related.

Hi Pete glad that you are still here as well. You guys really know how to enjoy yourselves i feel 21 all over again well 19 actually as our legal age is lower. I don't usually buy trains but if it has traction i'm going to have to go out and grab up a copy in the morning. Glad you liked the steam whistle. It's actually brewed in a brewery in Toronto contained inside of the old John street roundhouse.

No, I couldn't get a word in edgewise and then Ruthy broke a heel on her shoe, honest. Let the "good times rock and roll." Not to worry, my social instincts will see the party through in good order. But Clueless, why are you arresting me? I had no idea of Ruthy's age and P.I. Doyle will vouch for me. What? but I'm innocent I tell ya, innocent.

Try, try, again![:(!] A wise man once said: "You can't cheat an honest man." How true! Ruthy explained everything to everyone's satisfaction. While I was reparing her shoe downstairs in the shop, she retreated to the Penthouse "away from the madding crowd." Seems Insp. Clueless (living up to his name) took the words of P.I. Doyle, who hasn't had a case in months, that Ruthy was under age. He had mistaken a Minor "Party Crasher's" age for Ruthy's. Doyle's license is now in question although I probably will not sue for "false arrest." Once again, "all is well that ends well."

From the delirious to the very sober for just a moment. On this date four years ago, the U.S. added to our chronicles another: "Day which will live in infamy." We were feeling pretty sorry for oursleve's until the U.K. suffered a similar attack just this year. In the same way our two countries survived Pearl Harbor and Manila; the Fall of Singapore and Dunkirk; we will not only survive but see the day when "things will come to right" (Winston Churchill 1940). It is a different war, to be sure, but the result will be the same so long as we are made of that "sterner stuff" that saw our "best generation" through their "darkest days." In these days, 60 years hence, may we remain focused on what we had to lose then and could lose now. "United we stand, divided we fall" has the same message today as it has always had. "Be not afraid!"

Okay, back to the mop, broom, vacuum, air freshner, disinfectant and bon fire.[:O] Let's make this a good day for renewal and thanks to all who participated in one "hullava" good "B'day Bash. Hope you got the card Rob, looking forward to "snail mail." So long for now and Happy Rails to all.[:D]

Good morning Rob. A belated brithday greeting. Last night we went out to dinner and did not get back til 11 PM. By then my eyes were too crossed to see the computer, so a belated birthday wish. Hope that you had a wonderful bash and all of the regulars at Our Place chimed in to wish you a happy one. I had my big 65 a couple of months ago and it was great.

Have many more,

Good morning Y'all,

Lets have a round of coffee and a moment of silence for what happened four years ago today. We lost many a good citien an that tragic day which started the current morass in the world. It truly is a day to reflect on how the world has changed probably for the worse since that tragic day.

I annot say my usual saluation "Cheers" today as it is not a cheery day.

Good evening gentlemen. Let me just add my thought's, to those already expressed. My father is a retired police officer so this tradgedy was "real " for my family as well. Again let me express my heart felt thanks to al lwho participated yesterday it was fun. [tup] Tom my updated guesstimate would be 185 for ***.Oh and I did make it in time to soak my toes and help clean up.Ted I did phone the lawyer, they said that they would see to it by monday morning but it looks like one of the senior partners must have pulled some strings. Not sure if it was Dewey, Cheatam or Howe though.[;)] Anyhow I'll get the bobcat and help with the burn pile. See you all tomorrow. Rob
