QUOTE: pwolfe Pete Posted: 12 Apr 2006, 14:49:19 Quote Hi Tom and all. The party seems in full swing with visits of LARS DON TED MIKE BK and DON since my last visit and I noticed we have passed 6000 replies on our anniversary .[tup][tup] The secret of page 300. While in the Mentor Inn brewhouse(see below) I overheard Vito the Hit devising a scheme to see the only Mentor Village bookmaker not owned by his 'family' put out of business. There were very long odds on Our Place being on page 300 on the 12th. Anyway after putting the 'frighteners" on the regulars Vito has won the bet, the rivals betting shop is to be turned into a female Body-piercing Parlour operated by the Ladies of Perpetual Motion( piercing $20 to watch$100), and have I recieved a well filled brown envelope although most of the cash will have to go in repairing the Brewhouse.(also see below) BORIS, LEON AND I have brewed some ales for the party.[:D] They come straight from the barrel and are made from the pure[?] water of the CAN-AM gorge. They are. BORIS'S BEVVY( 3.7%ABV) A strange brew with a hint of [alien]in it. (it would have been stronger but Boris left the hosepipe in it too long) [4:-)]TOM'S TIPPLE(4.7%ABV) A refreshing N. American beer. Good all year round and a favourite at Our Place. TEX'S TAIL ALE(6.5%ABV) Don't be put off by the color. A good tasting ale, but it can creep up and give you a bite. A favourite of the track gang. AWK'S ANVIL ALE(8.9%ABV) Green in color but surprisingly full bodied with a hint of nuts. After a few you can get the feeling of having been dive-bombed. LEON'S LITES OUT(12%+ABV) Very dark, very full-bodied and very strong only to be taken if you have a reservation to sleep on the pool table over night. We did have H&H'S HAMMER([?][?][?]%ABV) but the vat exploded. [:D]We hope you enjoy the selection. I have probably spent too much time a Real Ale Festivals in the UK[:D] PETE.
