So when can the skidoo come out and play? I know it is warm for this time of the year, even there. But it can't stay that way all winter. And sometime all the snow that Joe is wishing on you will happen. How many snowmobiles do you have?

Last winter was a huge dissapointment for people who snowmachine, snowboard or ski. Little or no snow. You might have heard the the Iditarod dog sled race was moved farther up north because there was no snow in Anchorage. I don't own any snowmachines, but my friends do. So I just use theirs sometimes.
BTW, it was raining earlier today. The five day forecast brings more rain, not snow.

Believe it or not, I've actually seen that very thing. Peeled off about 30 ft of the trailer roof. My question to him was "at what point did you realize your trailer wasn't going to fit?" He said he heard the noise but thought it was just barely scraping the bridge and he could but pull it on through. He didn't get out to check until it wouldn't pull any further. He was even sober. When will people realize that the heights of vehicles are just as important as the width when going under overpasses. I have seen countless dump trucks semis and other large vehicles run into the CP bridge because they are in too much of a hurry to wait for the train to pass at the level crossing on the main truck route. It happens with such frequency CP Rail has installed a barrier to stop the trucks and other vehicles from shifting the rail the goes over the bridge and causing a major disaster. Before the instalation of this barrier there was a very serious rail mishap when the tracks were shifted over 4 inches and a train came into London at 45 mph and derailed destroying two houses and killing 3 people who had lived in the houses. One of them I knew very well.

I gave a better account of the layoff in the thread "jhfjfddhgdjgfdgh". (Hey I didn't start or name that thread.) The rumor mill is working OT this week. And you know the # 1 topic is more layoffs. Everyone is dreading this Friday. I don't think they will hit my hangar but I think they very well could hit 2 other hangars. Only time will tell. So if any of you have an extra 30 or 40 mil just setting idle in the checking account how about buying a nice jet. I really like the black nickle plating, but the 24 k gold is very popular.

I'm about a 45 minute drive south of the loops. If you've never been to the loops, it's worth the trip, especially when the leaves turn. If you go, try to go during the week or on Sunday. For some reason CSX doesn't run that much on Saturdays through there.

I'll check my schedule and give you an email about Dante. I've always wanted to go, just never have.

When I was training early in my career, I was posted in Bedford County. N& W's main line through that area crossed over U. S. 460. Near Montvale there was a trestle that had 13' 6" clearence. At least once a week a truck with an over height load would try to fit a 14 ' load under the trestle. More often than not it was a truck carrying a piece of equipment.
