Mine is the Great Dividing Range Mining Company. My layout is N scale and my trains usually consist of 3-5 locos and atleast 30-40 cars. the colours are totally black with white lettering and a blue gem streched across the front like up wings.

My railroad isn't made up, but I have some revisionist history in mine. I model the Soo Line, and my bit or revisionist history is that the Soo/Milw merger didn't kill off the Soo. My layout is HO (mostly athearn) and I have some bandit (old MILW) engines. I have been playing with what the Soo might have done if they had stuck around.

The Kansas Pacific Railway Co. Unfortunatly it's still in the planning stages right now (because of underfunding), but when I bring what I do have out of mothballs the emblem will be the Iron Horse (not to be confused with the Norfolk Southern).

The Rockford & Northern RR. It runs south from Rockford IL to Amboy IL (where it connects with the IC Gruger line), then on to a connection with the Rock Island west of Atkinson IL The R&N connects in Rockford with the Rock Valley Terminal, a switching line on Rockford's industrial south side. The R&N and RVT are featured in my book, Two Track Main which is about people affected by the end of steam.

My HO layout models the Vandalia Line in the late 1950s, as though it were never bought by Pennsy (which means I had to make up my own history from 1917 on...). However, it also connects to my purely freelanced "Atlantis, Beulah & Western", a railroad that, on the surface, looks like a composite of midwestern railroading in the first half of the twentieth century. The AB&W is =not= however located anywhere in the United States (or the rest of the world) and is simply its own microcosm reminiscent of the midwest 50 to 60 years ago. It allows me to capture the look and feel of that time and place without having it actually be there, which I think gives you a lot more room for creative leeway. Does anyone else have a similar railroad?

Vandalia? I think I saw that name on the side of a charter bus today that was from St. Louis. Could you tell just a little bit about where this line went?

hasn't this been posted on another forum topic? Oh Well, heres my layout again.

Borracho Springs RR, or known locally, the "BS" serving the Borracho Tequila factory, the town of Borracho, the whistle stop of Purgatory, and two mines the FUBAR and the SNAFU mines.

Colors range from grimy black to various shades of rust.

It is a G narrow guage indoor layout under construction on the back wall of my garage. I started as a garden layout but got 86'ed when "she-who-be-obeyed" was dismayed at what I had planned for her garden, so I switched from garden to a Finescale (hopefully) indoor layout. by G standards it very small (planned for 6 1/2 feet by 20 feet) but at least I have a good chance of finishing it. Locale is Arizona desert bordertown in the 1950's, all small locos and cars loosely based on Mexican narrow gauge and other southwest lines. I model what I like and dont worry about counting rivets, its all about enjoying yourself.

   Have fun with your trains

The MJS&D. That's the Matthew, Jason, Steve & Dad. It's set in the mid '20's. Short rolling stock looks better on the sharp model railroad curves. Wooden cars, steam, tons of grit, grime, and grease, not to mention STEAM!. And also STEAM!
