In all honest, I think it‘s kind of ridiculous to stop a train when you are protesting climate change, because trains are like the ultimate carpool, they carry a lot of passengers using comparatively less fuel. Just me view, note I support an6 political view that will help railways! I’d vote for a monkey (as the expression goes) if it gave Amtrak the money it needs! Big Smile

The whole idea is to create as much disruption (and publicity) as possible without getting hurt. Screwing up the ultimate carpool does that and is arguably somewhat less dangerous than picketing on the Autobahn or under Final Approach at JFK.

In the photo of the London protest with the woman gluing her breasts to the pavement- notice the white star in the red sign? To the left of that is a white lantern looking thing. That is the sign for the "Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese" pub which you access up a narrow laneway. Supposedly Shakespeare and Dickens drank in there. I have, too. It is a very interesting place, lots of small rooms and very dark. You travel back in time. Wayne- there is a large ad for Samuel Smith's beer above one of the fireplaces- (there are many and it is a tied house) and the ad is drawn by Bruce Bairnsfather and features Old Bill. Walk further up the laneway and there is a courtyard and on that courtyard is Dr. Samuel Johnson's house. Near the house is a bronze statue of Hodge, his cat. I love London!

So much history in that area I'd probably overload, pass out, and wind up in the emergency room.

Although in Britain I think it's referred to as "casualty."

So maybe to entire goal of the protesters was to stop people leaving such an interesting historic area of London! Thats pretty close to what happened! It’s not about climate change after all!

Okay, in seriousness climate change it a serious thing, but I can’t comprehend stoping the greatest carpool around to get attention.

I say keep the trains running, railfaning (and modeling) stopped trains is boring!
