But when i'm home, we rarely lock the door, if at all, Movie night, half the building barges in and wathces the video with us. It's not uncommon that the nextdoor neighbor is rumaging through our cubbords looking for the sugar, because he's half a cup short. If you were up in Canada, you'd understand. Were jsut not the break in/ violent kind of people. And i personaly don't understand why michael moore, would set out to make Canada look good in his documentary, If he is form the USA?

I was afraid I woud offend her or other females with the statement of being home alone. I've seen some women that could take on just about anybody. I remember the good old days when we didn't lock our doors either. Those days are long gone now. I'm not really sure what caused the downturn in the US. My personal opinion is that it started with the liberal movement. Blame someone's upbringing, the schools, their neighborhood, anything but the person who actually did wrong. Kind of like blaming the railroads for some stupid driver going around the gates. Since personal responsibility went out the window, the younger generations have less and less respect for their elders, authority, other people, their country, and even themselves. I don't think Moore's intention was to make Canada look good as much as it was to make the US look bad. Check out www.mooreexposed.com to see some of the things Moore has said and done in his past work. I think controversy is what he lives for. Wishing for the good old days, Derrick

The statistics do have me curious though, why are there so many gun fatalities in the US compared to everywhere else in the world? Of course, I sincerely doubt that is a question that anyone can easily answer, and I don't expect anyone to do so. I also don't look down at the US because of this problem, all countries all around the world including Canada have their own problems that they have to deal with, so don't think I'm sitting here saying Canada is better than the US, because I'm not. I suppose we can save this stuff for the hundreds of political forums that are out there and stick to the one reason we're all here, TRAINS! [:)]

Actually Canada has more guns per capita than the US. Seems we just use them more for sport rather than killing our fellow citizens. Actually, you couldn't be any closer then the Truth, Fact: There are A LOT more Guns per Capita in Canada, then ther are in the USA. Fact: Last year there were 165 Gun Deaths in Canada, and 11, 127 in the USA And for the record: We own more Guns per capita, if i didn't already say that. A good movie to verify this fact, would be Michael Moore's Documentry Bowling For Columbine And to be perfectly Honest, We don't have the right to bear arms, But it's not like i'm terribly terrified. I don't own a gun, and i'll never need to. you need about 12 different permits to own a gun, fi you have a gun in your car, you need a permit to own it, to transport it, and all that jazz, And when it's a nuissance, people just leave them in their house. It's amazing that people Who own multiple Guns STILL would rather defend themselves without a Gun, Rememebr, It takes nothing to shoot a guy, heck that's pretty whimpy, it takes a lot to knock a guy out flat using your bare hands, that takes Stength and courage, a gun is whimpy and takes the mickey out of a fight. So, in Canada, if you break into someones house, and they own 1, 2 , or 7 guns, it's most likely that they'll punch you out, then it will be that you will wind up shot.
