Sorry Ken, Maybe I'll be the last poster for the month of May.
I wonder who is going to step up and move the Diner into June this time.
Maybe, Ulrich or Br. Elias, or will Galaxy surprisingly show up. How about YGW.
or Ride on Road, he is usually up early. I know one thing for sure, it won't be me...

JeremyB Morning guys went o the doctors about the nail I stepped on. She figures it went in about a inch. Th nail was from a shed that was over 30 years old and the nail was rusted. Would that be a steel nail then instead of galvanized. Anyway I do have a infection in my foot so took today of work and will go back tomorrow. My job is a lot of lifting of stuff over 50lbs so that should be fun. Can't believe the thing went through my shoe and into me. But then again it was still firmly in the wood so it was all my weight right down on it. funny thing is it bled very little I wonder why??

You may want to get tetanus booster ASAP, just to be safe.
EDIT: I just saw the post where you said your GP said not to bother.
Evening Dinners
Flo, beer please.
More than likely I will be the last poster tonight so I won't type much. Tonight is a night why I wonder why I like trains! Nasty train wreck, I have 5 cars on the RIP track from the wreck.
Later Ken
I hate Rust
Thanks guys
i did have tetanus shot a couple years ago so she said I didn't need one. she put me on some antibiotics to help with the infection. Not too sore today so will go to work tomorrow I think. If it gets to sore I will come home.
i also have been wondering where David parks has been. Also has galaxy been it lately?
Hi Gang,
Just an RBF. for me today Flow, and maybe a cheese and onion sandwich, thanks.
I was just remenising here and was thinking it would be great to hear from David Parks again. I don't think he has come by this way since Jeff passed away. There are so many others that come to mind as I have mentioned before, Like Larry and Sue, Paul in Nevada, Chuck in Texas, Cajun Ryan in the Carolinas, Thank goodness that Flip from Florida stops in every once in awhile. I also feel blessed to get the odd E-mail from him. Also Seamonster from Winnipeg has been very quite lately. Not to forget Fergie and of course Galaxy ????
There are many more that we shared a special Kinship with here that is hard to forget.
We wish you all well and hope you have stayed in the MMR community and hope you will decide to check back in with us here and join the crowd once again.
WE all can have our differences from time to time, but we can always agree to disagree on those things and keep it civil and in the rules of the forum Providers. It does not mean that we are not Friends and still care for one another.
Going down to the LM&E and do a little railroading today before back to work for a couple starting tomorrow.
BTW. I got our little garden planted yesterday before the rain, so Wifey is happy.
Prayers and blessings for those in need.

Steven OtteThey asked the ticket agent which train goes downtown.
Steven Otte"It's very good jam," said the Queen.
Steven Otte"No boom today. Boom tomorrow.
I think you should consider not leaving your day job!
Hey all
Recieved an email from my Grandfathers brother this weekend, He is a retired colonel from the Airforce. He flew over Vietnam. I was surprised to hear from him that during the cease fire at the end, that the North Vietnam fired at their planes as they flew recon. I also found out that we lost a family service member in Italy that had been unkown to me.
Alvie - Just curious why are you going with sergent vs. Kadee ?
Mr B - careful. Did you ever hear about Lorinia (sp?) Bobbit ? Better sleep with one eye open
Angel - Did you find your BNSF Coal porter ?
Ken - How is it going working with Nancy today ? Considering the three foot holes the Lowes price sound reasonable.
ATSF Guy - Some kits are fairLy simple blue box while other kits are basically scratch built kits with the parts that have to be shaped molded etc...these can be very tough to build
Ricky - LOL "enjoy his vacation..." I understand that one !
Henry - We here in Va understand the horrors too. While I was not here during the civil war and other skirmishes there is abundent evidence all these years later for one to see. When Sheridan went through the Valley he burned everything, he burned the homes of the women and their children lived ( men were either dead or to old to fight ) and then robbed them of thier provisions and live stock. A crow truly would have had to "carry its provisions to fly across " this area at that time. Every where you drive here you can still see the chimenys standing alone where the Union burned the homes to the ground. They decimated the people here.
Frank - Thank you for your service.
Jim - Isnt that something start mowing and it rains a gully washer ! When we pour concrete slabs it can be a sunny day as far as the eye can see. As soon as the last yard of concrete is poured - boom - out of nowhere a storm cloud shows up and just drenches the freshly poured concrete !
Garry - Your cartoon reminds me of a photo shown this weekend at church. It was a photo of a soldier handing a little boy of 8 or 9 years old the flag from his fathers coffin. The soldier nelt down to hand him the flag and the boy bravely reached out his hands to recieve the flag. Tears streaming down his cheeks. Very difficult to observe.....
Richard - You are going cycling in 134 degree heat ?!
Ulrich - Wow that entire z scale will probably fit inside the cattle car in the left back ground of your photo
Jeremy - Glad to see you back in here. I agree with everyone. First thing you need to do is go and get a shot. Especially if you have not had one recently. That is nothing to fool with. When I was a kid and did the same thing my mom soaked my foot in warm water and epsom salt.
Steve - LOL ! Guess they will never get on that train !
V8 - You may want to break out teh heating pad !
Howmus - Can you write Galaxy a letter if you know his address ?
Seems I missed the dust up this weekend. I was busy doing w**k around the house this weekend. Cleaned out the garage, Washed teh front porch and cleaned it off, mowed all of the fields, hired a couple guys to clear out about a thousand feet of overgrown wood fence...I was amazed the guys cut up 6" caliber trees, honey suckle, Poisen ivy that had vines an inch thick, chiken wire that had been stapled onto the fence ...They cleared it all in one day ! Unbeliveable ! Just three guys ! Looks so much better now
Howdy to everyone else - Lion, Reinhard, DER ( where are you ?) .....
Gotta git back to w**k

Jeremy don't rush things. A foot infection can be very serious especially if you are a diabetic or a smoker. Even if you are not, feet don't heel very fast because we are always walking on them and our feet are hot and sweaty. Keep your foot propped up above the level of your heart today and stay off of it. Keep an eye on it if it looks like it's getting worse, call your doctor.

JeremyB. . .funny thing is it bled very little I wonder why??
That's the nature of a puncture wound. Now, if it had hit an artery or a major vein, that would be a different matter.

Here is todays picture from the root of the Bway LION... Funny how the same people stay on the train platform after the train leaves.
They asked the ticket agent which train goes downtown. The man said, "Get on the next train." So the train arrived, and the people started to get on, until one said, "Wait, he said we wanted the NEXT train. This isn't the next train, this is THIS train." They all nodded wisely and stepped back on the platform to wait for the next train. So there they wait.

"It's very good jam," said the Queen. "Well, I don't want any to-day, at any rate." "You couldn't have it if you did want it," the Queen said. "The rule is, jam to-morrow and jam yesterday – but never jam to-day." "It must come sometimes to 'jam to-day'," Alice objected. "No, it can't," said the Queen. Steven Otte Well, it looks like a 50/50 chance of thunderstorms the next two days, but a good chance of a dry but partly cloudy Memorial Day. Well, even if it rains all three days, it doesn't matter, 'cause I do my ribs in the oven. 225 degrees for about 4 hours. They fall off the bone. Thought I'd give you guys a heads-up... I just handed off the first article for Great Model Railroads 2017! It's an HO scale Rock Island branch in Kansas. Now I just have 9 more to go in a little more than a month...

Steven ..... I hope the ribs were good and the weather cooperated. .... I would love to have my railroad featured in Great Model Railroads some day. Of course, I do appreciate seeing some of my photos in Trackside Photos a few times over the years.

Before you dare abandon us, let me remind you that I once took a playful shot at the Diner in another thread. This offended one of the most esteemed members of the Diner (not you in this case), and my punishment was doing the dishes in the Diner for the next 30 days. So, watch yourself!

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Sir Madog I have deleted my seemingly offending posts, but I have come to the conclusion that, as a pacifist and after having received reactions way below the belt, I don´t feel being welcome any longer.

Flo, the drinks are on me. Make Ulrich's a double!
Ulrich!
Post deleted because it was outside of the forum rules, but I'm with Rich! The implications of your comment about the United States were clear, and you were way out of line! I'm sorry about your family's losses, but don't blame the Allies.
deleted so long as Ulrich agrees to provide kuchen to all of the Diners today in honor of Memorial Day.

Ricky!
I spent a long time in retail so I have been where you were, but without having things thrown at me thank goodness. Congratulations for handling the 'former associate' so professionally. You were correct in everything you did. She should be trespassed from the store!
Flo, please.
Been thinking a lot about my lost brothers and sisters in arms. May they and there family find peace and comfort from them doing there duty.
Evening folks!
Janie, just another cup of decaf would be fine right now.
Rich, I do know Galaxy's real name, and address.... I have been checking his local paper(s) and checking his name on the obituaries nationally at least twice a week since he disappeared. I have found nothing. I won't give out his name here on line as he was/is very anti letting this information get sent around. I will continue to check and see what I find until futher notice. He has not been online here at the forum (signed in) since early April. Just hoping that he is OK and just taking a break!
A couple quotes for today:
"My first wish is to see this plague of mankind. war, banished from the earth." - George Washington
"Mankind must put an end to war before War puts an end to mankind" - John F. Kennedy
I believe that there would be no better way to honor all those who have served and died than to see mankind become something where war would be no longer happening! My prayers to the families who have lost their loved ones and prayers that war may cease! I say that in honor of all the ones who served so that we may enjoy some degree of safety here......
Be Blessed!

richhotrainDoes anybody know what Galaxy's real name is? Just wondering.
Anyone who has made a mail-based contribition to one of Galaxy's fund drives does but they have been sworn to secrecy. (And there does not appear to be an obituary for him.)

Sir [quote user="Sir Madog Garry - I sent an email to Galaxy a month ago, but have not received an answer. I am deeply worried.

I have no idea what Galaxy's real name is, but if you do, you could try googling him or looking for his name on the local newspaper's website

Are HO Scale Passenger Car Kits hard to assemble?
I was thinking of purchasing one, but am not too sure.
Good evening all.
Flo, just a big root beer float, please. Too hot for much food this weekend. Was 94 on Saturday, with a feels like 108, setting the new record high, Sunday was a high of 88, with a feels like 97, just 3 shy of a record, today hit 86, with a feels like of 92. Very little rain either day, just spots got hit. The good thing from the weather, beaches set a record on Memorial Day weekend attendance. Bad thing was it was so hot that everyone was at the beach! Well over 65,000 Sat and Sun, with many in the water, over 200 at one time swimming off just one beach.
W**k: Finished the month of May (finish counts as Saturday May 28, for the only reason that the schedule goes from Sunday to Saturday night. Last Saturday was the last of the month, so Sunday actually started June for our store.) second on new accounts, third in sales. For some reason, 2 new accounts, one Friday one Saturday, did not count, so I should have finished with 2 more than I did. New goals for June have started this morning and afternoon for me, got zero account oppertunities, did ok on other goals, save for one, where I got 8 "no's" out of 8. (So I struck out, they want one yes on every 12 chances right now, so not too far off on that one yet... Last month I had one per 21, so not a terrible difference.) Our district manager is on vaca this week, but still kept sending emails. (Some vaca, huh?) I was ready to (jokingly) ask how I am supposed to enjoy his vacation if he is going to keep sending emails!
Hobby Front: Played a little bit with the airbrush, still will be doing some more testing, now that I have a spray booth and can paint indoors in a temperature controlled environment, (and a zero precipitation chance!) I am trying to do some weathering via airbrush, but will be testing and practicing for a while, until I start getting to where I like the results.
Hello to all, and hope that all are well.

I think you guys misread Ulrich. This is a US website and we post US stuff, and we have been at war since 2003. It just doesn't make the papers everyday, anymore.
War has always been a part of mankind. Every generation has to rediscover the pitfalls of war. As a German, he knows more about the horrors of war than we do.
I searched "HO Scale Texas & Pacific Passenger Cars" on google but suprisingly very little turned up except for non realistic Rivarossi and IHC stuff.
What I want to know is why are the western roads covered, but the midwest/central roads are completely ignored?
