I got a small HO layout with 2 tracks seperated by insulators I wanna be able to have my trains move like their suppose to so I can have more than one train on the track at one time the problem is I got some trains I bout and their not DCC is there a way I canj buy the chips and install them or get them installed or anything like that also what else does DCC do and is it worth the money?

Yes, I think it is worth it. Go to your LHS, or eBay and get a decoder for each loco. DCC can be set up to control turnouts, building lights, or about anything electrical. Go to www.digitrax.com for more info on DCC and its capabilities. There is also a list of decoders on this web site along with a description of what they can do.

Almost forgot to mention other DCC controllers. MRC and Atlas both offer quality units, I just haven't used either one. Anyway, most manufacturers offer a starter set that comes with a walkaround throttle and a command station with a few decoders included in the kit.

Firsrt of all, you'll have to purchase a DCC system with a power supply, base
station and controller. Some can be purchased for under $200. Next, you'll
have to, or have installed decoders in your locos. They can be bought for as
little as $14.00. They come with complete installation instructions. If your models are older, the decoders can be hard wired to the track pickup, light,
and motor connections. Hobby shops can be very helpful in giving visual
instructions
