I Model RailroadING is a completely different magazine from Model RailroadER. Kalmbach Publishing does Model RailroadER, and maintain this forum. Don't confuse us more than we already are! I even find the advertising interesting and informative, though I wi***here were more ads for N scale equipment (I know... they advertise where the majority of the market is). My only complaint is this... Many times I will be reading an article and the text goes in to great detail describing a certain portion of the layout. I go to look for the picture of this section, and there is none to be found. No fair!! I realize that you cannot publish photos of all sections of some of the massive layouts you cover. But it sure would be nice if you could at least publish photos of the areas detailed in the text. I was wondering when MR is going to have more photos on the layouts you feature? I mean 3-4 doesn't cut it..How about these layouts articles having more how its ran and equipment used instead of how I make my scenery or how I made my layout out of lumber? How about some more Railroads you can model articles featuring short lines(ok,I admit I am bias here[:D])? How about brining back 'Paint Shop"? Thanks for your time reading this. A wondering Brakie. Posted by Anonymous on Friday, September 24, 2004 11:32 PM In this forum I wanted to have a place where if you could send a letter to the editor of MR and it would be read and printed what would you write and say or ask for. I will go first. Dear Mr Editor, This year I started getting your Issues fot Model Railroader and I feel it is a great publication. I really like the Articles and layout drawings and the how-to sections are informative. I look forward to picking up a new issue as I usually have worn out the old one from reading it over and over. I would like to suggest a few things for you to consider for the future. More article on other gauges so I may see what others are doing outside of my interset in HO. I may find other gauges that interset me more. I would like to see more photos of the persons layout that is getting featured each month. There is so much good work done on these layouts please show it off. How about a newbie section for those of us that are new and those who are newer then me to the hobby? Give us the basics to start the hobby right rather then letting us jump in feet first and sink when we get in over ou heads.Less advertisments and more articles and pictures, I know you have to sell advertising space to make money to cover cost but try to cut some over head somewhere and give us more. these are only suggestions but please give them some tought. sincerly one little voice.
