Evening guys

I'm pretty bummed out right now. I have been trying to get a hold of one of my best friends for a while. She isn't showing up on Facebook, she won't answer texts or emails, and when I call it goes right to voicemail. I'm really worried and wondering what's going on. This isn't like her, and we've been talking for almost 4 years. IDK what I should do, my father is saying leave her be and she'll start talking to me again when she feels like it. I'm hoping she didn't go back to her crazy ex or something didn't happen to her... She was one of the few people I felt I could trust.Crying

Adding to the above, another one of my friends is ignoring me. We were supposed to hang out Tuesday, but she went with some one else. Then came friday, and she never called or texted to have me pick her up (but she claims she did). Then I tried to get a hold of her all weekend. Nothing. But as per usual, come monday she's bugging me for a ride. When I ask why she's been ducking me, she took 10 minutes to say she lost her phone. Not likely, as her facebook shows she was using it... I'm thinking I should stop talking to this one (much less anyone now).

In other news I've been making some progress on trains. I've put together the KCS box, and got it weighted. Those old McKean ACF boxes are pretty nice. I'm working on getting a Con-cor 60' box and a 100-ton hopper together. The floor on the Con-cor 60' box was messed up, so I patched it together, and made modifications to the coupler pockets because part of it was busted off. I have almost no vertical slop in the kadees on it now.

I also got my other BLI NW2 today. Kinda wish they were SW7s, but these will work.

Alexander, I believe that's an RSD15, and it's on K10 Model Train's layout.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Good evening. Apparently I had a hot spot blister on my right hand because after gym, I noticed a flap of skin (like a small cut kind of flap) on my right hand. Figured it was from the yard work. Prayers for those who need them.

Evenin' folks!

Janie, I could use a nice hot cup of decaf right now...  Thank you Ma'am.

I am going to have a few muscles I have forgot about talking to me tomorrow I bet...  I moved all the rest of the wood pile sitting in the driveway since last fall to the back porch.  Should have been done last November, but I once again put it off and just moved wood as it was needed for the stove all Winter.  Good news is I will have a couple face cords to start the season with next Fall like I did this last Fall.  Means I went through just under 6 face cords this past Winter.  I may fire up the stove a few more times if it gets cold enough at night, but won't be using a whole lot more wood probably.

Temperature got up to 62°F this afternoon.  Was warm enough to w*rk outside without a jacket on since I was trying to work up a sweat anyway.  Sun came out off and on much of the day.  Enough to give me a 19.92 Kwh yield today.

Ordered some model railroading items today as well.  Decided to give the Proto 87 Joint Bars (Details West calls them Railbars and has had them back ordered for about a year now) a try.  They are made of Nickel Silver and can be either glued in place or soldered in place.

Today appears to be the start of Baseball for the little folks around here.  There was about 40 SUV's, Pickemup Trucks, Vans, and 4x4s roaring down the street at the end of practice as the Helicopter Mom's all have to get the little urchins to the next scheduled activities in their little lives and then home so they can make up excuses why they didn't get the homework done for class.  What amazes me is that they think they are getting wherever faster by driving 50 or 60 by my house from the ball park 500' down the road so they can all stop and wait in line at the intersection 500' down the road...  Of course they only have to slow down a little at the stop sign to turn which ever way they need to go if no one is brazen enough to be driving down the main drag the street T's on at the time...  Too bad some of the folks riding their skateboards down the street that T's onto the street with the race cars weren't out there at the same time...  could have been an interesting scene with 5 or 6 skateboarders barreling into the path of the SUVs with both doing well over the 30 mph speed limit on these streets....  Anybody know the local # for 911?

Have a good night, and prayers for all in need!

Man, I am wiped out! It's been a busy day. My fridge conked out this morning so I had to get a new one. It's a Haier frost-free refrigerator/freezer. Finally got it in place and operating around 6pm. I put my food from the old one in my nieces fridge while this new one gets cold. I had put everything up in the freezer of the old one so it could at least stay cool. It was still cooling a little. I'm gonna let the new one run for at least twelve hours before I put anything in it. I may be crazy but I ain't stupid. The price on it was good. $359. As usual lately my father paid for it. I don't know what he's expecting in return. He helped my nephew get it into the trailer. That was a sight to see. There's not much room in here at the best of times and with the two of them in here it was pretty tight until they pushed it into position. I'm guessing the power outage yesterday zapped the old one. There was a rapid series of spikes just before the power died. Fridge compressors don't like that. It fried one of my surge protectors too.

Well enough about that. I got the front couplers on four of my FP7's changed out earlier. The primer gray, Rock Island, BN and ex-PRR each have a Kadee 147 in the pilot and they're spot on according to the height gauge. I have two more in the display rack that need to be done, both UP (one is ex-UP). Well that's all for now.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Evening All,

W**k was OK. Mondays are usually not real busy, but today was even slower because of the s**w, wind, rain, and everything else we had untill about 3:00 PM. Then the sun came out and dried things up. It was still windy though, I made some angel hair pasta and vegetables with a garlic and parmesian sauce for dinner.

Finally got some w**k done on the layout.

Ptayers to all in need.

Howdy folks,

W*rk has been quiet these past couple of days so I've been finishing on time every day. Yesterday I had an hour to kill before going home, lets just say I got dizzy from going around in circles with the broom.

In my department we get labour hire casual workers for the shift and vary the amount depending on the amount of freight coming in. Tomorrow we are processing only 1500 pieces so there will only be two casual staff. Normally there is on an average day around 12 staff in. There is only myself and one other permanent staffer attached to my section, so after around 2.30PM I'm normally by myself until 6pm when I'm supposed to finish, in that time I do all the necessary paperwork for the freight we are sending out the next day such as manifests and emailing the necessary reports etc off. The other sections of the Warehouse operate 24/7 as it's the airfreight division of the company. We are basically a smaller version of UPS, in fact our air freight guys handle alot of UPS freight for towns outside of capital cities as UPS has a fairly small presence here.

Over in the WPF thread I posted a few photos of the new rollingstock I picked up on the weekend from the new model train shop thats opened in the city.

Our annual model train show is coming up in 3 weeks so I'm going to hold off buying any more stuff until then, even then I have to be careful as I need to save as much $$ as possible for my Thailand trip - I leave on the 8th May.

Anyway it's dinner time here...

Morning guys. Got my SD7 to be able to run on 18" radius again. Had to file some parts of the BLI sideframes down and sand the inside of the steps. It would barely turn before that.

How your work day went is like how my work days usually go. Everyone and there mother seems to want to come in right around 1330, when I leave at 1400.

As for the SD7 motor, if you can get the flywheels off of it and the flywheels off of another P2K motor and swap them that would work. A kato motor could probably work, and some of the older Atlas-kato locos had flywheels that'd work with the SD7/9s driveshafts.

Good morning. It's 70° with 88% humidity. It will be cloudy with a high of 82°.

No plans for today other than going to get my groceries out of my nieces fridge/freezer and put them in my new one. The fridge is 33° and the freezer is -5°. Other than that I think I'll just take it easy today.

Good Afternoon!

Another trying day! I went to the hospital to do some of the required paperwork for my Dad. When that was done, I went to see him, but he was out for some tests. I had the chance to talk to one of his docs, and the picture she gave me was pretty bleak. Though he does not have a case of pneumonia, his condition is worrying. The little infection he has is taken care of with a heavy dose of antibiotics. What worries me the most is that he sleeps most of the time and is hardly clear when he is awake. His speech is affected as well. There is little doubt that he is getting prepared for his last journey.

My Mom called only twice so far, which is an improvement, at least for us. I have been trying to reach her doc, but no luck. Something must happen urgently.

Other than that I am concluding the process of buying the new car. I hope that´ll work out satisfactorily.

Have a good one!

Sir Madog

Other than that I am concluding the process of buying the new car. I hope that´ll work out satisfactorily.

Ulrich, may your car buying experience go far better than mine!!!

I DO have TWO extra prayer candles lit for both YOU and your FATHER. If the prayer candle won't contribute to his recovery, may it contribute to his peaceful journey.

Your mother may experience a terrible shock then, so be prepared.

Well, I went and did some banking.

MOH says did not do so well at the interview, but I said maybe that means you will get it...sometimes the worse things go the better they turn out. Will know by the end of the week supposedly. Here's hoping!

Tooth gets pulled Friday and Thursday I get spinal nerve injections, I will be in a world of hurt over weekend so we are not going to the Maryland train show: we don't have $$ and with no current job except volunteering, MOH has no prospects...unless....so we won;t be going.

MOH WOULD like to "get out of Dodge City", but we really cannot afford it!

another nice day outside, but a nasty storm may hit us after it hits some of you out there!

Afternoon folks!

Chloe, I'll have a cup of decaf for the moment....

Slept in a bit this morning, gave Blackie his meds about a half hour late, then showered and headed over to the barber to get my ears lowered.  With all the hot air out there, it is now 56°F outside, I figure I want to stay cool.  Actually a fairly pleasant day here in the Finger Lakes, partly cloudy and mild.

Really sorry about the way too hot conditions Ken and a couple others have to put up with.  makes me very glad I live up here in the North where we get much nicer weather.  80°F???  Man too hot for me! Whistling  Barry, are you going to stock the lake this year?

Fergie, I left almost half the apple pie for you last night.  Somebody else must have got to it first....  I didn't need to warm it up either as it was still hot from the oven when I had my half. Smile, Wink & Grin

Galaxy, sounds like life is normal for you folks....  Hope the extraction goes well, the injections do the job, and YOH gets the job!

OK, I need to glide downtown in the PiP and buy a couple hundred stamps for the MLK Dinner Invites...

Later!

I love the B-17, especially the "G" variant. I hope your headache goes away, thanks for sharing.

I've gotten the coupler swap-out done on all six of my FP7. Each one has a Kadee 147 in the pilot and a Kadee 119 on the rear and they're OK by the height gauge.

I got my food from my nieces fridge this morning and it's now in mine where it belongs. I've been working on getting the temp set properly and I think I've got it. I'll check it in an hour and see.

I think that's about all I'll do for today and just relax the rest of the day.
