I am off today, and it felt Great! Did a lot of napping while watching Pawn Stars, I do like that show.
Got the Karma back on the A line. Cleaned all the wheels on the engines and rolling stock. Seems the NY Central real problem was still dirty wheels. After cleaning all the rolling stock wheels of its train and a doubled headed UP freight train sharing the A line all is good again.
B line on the other hand, well I think I need to do the same thing.
Well I am about done BBQing [dinner and this one will be real good! My wife hates it when I smoke the pork steaks! So tonight, I bought some hickory wood and smoked 3 just for me! First time in 3 years!

Morning Diners: Hm seems I'm a little late for some reason.. been up since 5 but sort of had a lazy Sunday morning.
It NOT a nice day here. Not that cold, just about 30F but 50 MPH winds and SN**OW AND MORE SN*W.
Supposed to continue like this till tomorrow morning. Started at 6AM and we've already go 4 inches so who know. Typical March weather here. We can even get this kind of sn*w fall in April. Which goes to explain why we plant our gardens no earlier than May 25 ish and bedding plants do not go in until the first week of June.
On the railroad front I've got a few projects going all at once. Gleaming track per Jeffrey's instructions, doing the wiring for the switch machines and still trying to get my Digitrax system to work consistently
TOO MANY BUTTONS to screw up on. I have a Throttle for Dummies ordered from Digitrax. Hopefully that will stop me from pressing the wrong things. I also am still having problems with JMRI talking to my laptop. Can't seem to find the right Com port.
I can see a nap coming on for this afternoon. Too miserable to go out for anything.

Good Afternoon!
I am back home from my "Northland" trip. I set off at 8am this morning, enjoying a leisurely drive on an empty Autobahn. The speedometer did not exceed 75mph on that trip, which took only a little less than 1 1/2 hrs. Gave the place a good airing, checked the heater and started the hunt for a few things my parents "urgently" need. While I was packing them up, the next door neighbors showed up, asking me whether the house is up for sale. It sure is, so I showed them around and they liked it so much they want to buy it. All we have to do is to agree on a price, but I have a hunch that we are not far apart. My parents are not yet ready for that step, but I´d like to have that settled by the end of the month. I arrived at my parents´ at noon and spent two hours with them, before driving back. My stomach was screaming at me when I arrived, but Petra had a nice late lunch ready at no time for me. Now I am just tired., but happy to be home again.

Good morning. It's 36° with 78% humidity. The high will be 60°.The low this morning was 27° with a north wind. Sure hope my father took a good coat when he went to his job this morning. It gets pretty cold on top of those fuel tanks.One of the items on the agenda today is to switch out the Lenz decoder in the primer gray FP7 with a DH123. It's a simple matter to unplug one and plug in the other then program it. Then there's the ever present pile of clutter to clear off the layout. It's slow going but I'm making a dent.

What am I doing up at this time of the morning? Woke up early, and since the alarm was going to go off in another 20 minutes anyway, I decided I might just as well get up and moving. House was 65°F this morning when I got up. Has been 68° every morning since I kicked the heat up a few degrees out in the living room where the through the wall unit is. I think the 3° difference is because the lower door to the outside entrance has been open due to the siphon hose to drain the water that accumulates behind the concrete steps at the bottom of the stairs. I will be happy to have central heat back up and running this week!
Since I am heading out to the museum soon, I really don't want to start the wood stove. Don't like to leave and have a fire going in it.
Currently 21°F outside with a bunch of little white flakes falling out of the sky. Something they now call Sn*w Showers here in this area of the country.
Galaxy, that show almost makes me wish I had Television here in the house... Almost, but not really.
I'll be back this evening... That's a warning!

Ron- There’s actually two words that are taboo here, well I mean other than the usual ones. First and formost is w**k. Hoo boy..., like I said most don’t like that word and are offended by it . The second is sn*w. Now that one is usually treated as one of the milder bad words and usually is not treated like the other. It is just not really liked by those who….well, don’t like it.
Welp, yesterday went as planned so we’ll see how today goes. First Church, then nap, then dinner, then nap, then trainroom, then nap, then maybe a DVD movie, then nap, maybe some more trainroom, no nap, then light supper, then nap, then cartoons, then nap…. then bed. Whew! Whatta day. Tired just thinking about it.

Calif. is wholly controlled by one party and has the highest income, and sales tax also plus there constantly adding fees to our property tax.The car cover I won on eBay arrived today and on the package I saw the postage was $13.58. I paid $5. + $10 so the poor guy went to this trouble for only $1.42.
Ours is 38.4c PER LITRE here in Australia wide. We also get hit with 10% GST AT P.O.S.
Our current price is at the high point is 158.9c per litre = around $6 a GAL. The other day I filled up my Mitsubishi Lancer it cost me $77 from empty (approx a 55L tank) around $30 is tax. Of that only 25% goes back into roads the rest goes into the finances of the Federal Gov.t
Its all relative though, our minimum wage is around $16 per hour. However an average 3 bed home costs close to $400,000 now in most cities. And since our populations are so centralised living out of town means less options for work.

I received three Digitrax DH123 decoders in the mail today, each with 9 pin to DCC medium 3 inch 8-pin harness attached. I tested them and all three checked out A-OK. I refitted two with 9 pin to wires 7 inch harnesses. One will be going into the Rock Island E-R Models FP7 that's coming next week, assuming it doesn't need an overhaul. It looks good but you know what they say about appearances. No biggie if I have to shoehorn a motor into it. Speaking of locos, I tore down two today for their initial inspection. I already knew the motors wre good so the emphasis was on the gears. Everything checked out and they're back together, tested and back on the display rack. I was going to have dinner at home tonight but my father called and asked if I wanted to go to KFC. Well, yeah! We're both seniors so we get the senior citizen rate, so why not? Besides, he was buying!It's going to be on the cool side tonight with a low of 28°. I'll have the heater on low. Well, time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

I have spent well over a hour rerailing cars, and yet to have either the A or B line make it around 1 time? Luckily the C line is still running fine, or no trains tonight!
NY Central PK 1000 F3 problem, Oh Jeffery. Not sure if it is a engine problem or a Decoder going DC. DC stands for Dasie and Confused. It will not keep a constant speed. It will run slow then fast and slow again. Last night I thought it was because of dirty wheels so tonight I cleaned the wheels and lubed. Did fine around one time then started acting goofy again? Decoder reset time? It is a Digitrax DH 123 and I am not sure if I turned off the DC command CV's. I can control the speed some what.

Had a great day out at my son's house where we were celebrating Granddaughter #2's 4th. Birthday. She was being a whole lot better than last year when she got put to bed right after supper and she didn't get to open her presents until after everyone had left due to her behavior... I got there before anyone else (I was told 11 AM and everyone else was told 11:30 AM and lunch at Noon. Was OK by me as I was able to park right up next to the Garage and recharge the battery on the PIP... The granddaughters were at swimming when I got there so I helped my son get a couple of things ready for the party. Played several little kids games with the granddaughters during the day as well. Definitely fun.
When I got home I found a message on the machine from the Furnace guy. He will be here at 8:30 AM on Monday morning to install the new furnace. I spent some time down cellar tonight getting a bunch of things cleared so there is a path wide enough to let him get the new furnace in and the old removed. Although I have been very comfortable here for the last week without the central furnace, I will be glad to get it installed and up w*rking (see I know the rules around here).
Galaxy... I will respectfully pass on the Ether Bunny Twain.... I'd much rather visit when the crowd is ... Ah... A bit better, shall we say.
Tomorrow is Museum Guide training at the museum. It is being billed as more of a discussion of how the role of the guide is, ah...., interpreted. Yep! Interpreted is a good word. Since I spend more than half my time out there in the role of Docent or Museum Guide, I figured I best be there to try to, ah, Moderate whatever the person doing the meeting has in mind for strict changes in the position definition... Yes, that is a good way to phrase it I think.
I lit the wood stove when I got home and it is now putting out some decent heat, so I am going to go sit near it and enjoy the warmth.

Adding fees to property taxes is a nifty idea for them. I am sure NY will follow soon. We have a "2% per year property tax cap" program in process here, but I don't think it covers adding fees! NY's will probably soon see that happening soon as what CA does, NY often does too.....gota cover the deficits and State Mandates somehow.

The message on the webiste is" On April 1st, 2012, the East Broad Top Preservation Association's 3-year lease to operate the East Broad Top Railroad with an option to buy has ended. The New Hope and Ivyland RR in New Hope, PA, will have the Easter Bunny train this month!!! It will include a 45 minute, 9 mile round trip ride in one of our antique railcars, with a visit from the Easter BUnny and special treats for childrens! Wewekend excursions this month are $25.90 for First Class Adults!!

Well LION *has* been up in train room. Been repowering a subway train, he has. Has not tested it yet. HIm also glued more weights to the bottom of most cars. Glue must dry before turning train back over onto its wheels. This is one of the one-motor sets that I run on the express loops, where it is its own leader and follower all in one!

I have four Tropicana cars- 2 are all green with silver roof, one is all white with one door, other is white body with green roof and ends,double doors. A fellow diner gave me a fifth,car not booze,white body and roof ,with green ends. Very nice Red Caboose model. On left side of door is Orange Juice while on the right side of door is " ORANCE JUIGE " Is it possible the person printing the words mixed his juice with Vodka???
