I would think that Scientic is a more mass marketed brand than usa, aristo, and lgb, I mean whens the last time you went to a food supermarket and bought a lgb set for $40 ?? Nice to know that they did that, bought an ertl set (made by Scientific) for my 7 year old to run outside this winter. Wonder if I can get them to send me a volume control for that loco, man it's loud
Just had to share this story.
During the summer I picked up a couple of used Scientific G scale battery operated RC trains off Craigslist to give to some grandkids in the family at our holiday party this year. I got G scale so they could run them on my layout before taking them home.
One headlight was out, so I managed to get to it, found it was an incandescent bulb, but didn't know the rating so wasn't sure what to replace it with. I put an LED in but meanwhile contacted someone in the U.S who distributes them to see if I could get a replacement bulb. I was told to send an Emal to China. Given these trains only sell for $39 new I didn't hold out much hope.
Amazingly, I got a reply asking for my mailing address, and a few days later 3 new bulbs arrived by priority mail, at no charge.
Now that is fantastic support.
