Our city has gone over the top !!! You may recall a while back I posted about us getting a new trash service after the first. We are being converted to recycling and seperating trash. 3 pickup cans, 1 each for "green" (organic material), 1 for glass, cans, etc., and 1 for refuse. OK that's fine. But they market it as 3 non diesel trucks will be more efficient than 1 diesel. Which is not true! Then this.......
Trash pickup will be $15 per month, OK. However, if you want you can also subscribe to VALET Service !!! This service will include a driver retrieving the 3 cans from the side of the house, move them to the curb, then relocate them to the side of the house after they have all been empty !!! UnREAL !!!
BTW, if any of you watch the Rose Bowl parade our city will also have a float, cost $160,000. Ridiculous !!! But then they feel they have an image to protect.

SISTER and BRO IN LAW from California along with MOM came down to visit yesterday. They were im pressed by the train layout. Stayed down playing with trains for an hour. Even had BIL scooping up coal with the gantry crane, he loved it. Then all went out for dinner, great time.

It is a frosty 28 degrees. Going up to 42 today, with some snow tonite.
Today is an easy day. A few normal chores to do around the house and then relaxing, the rest of the day. I think I will run trains, for awhile later. I have a new engine, that I want to try out, from Chief.
Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast. Then, I will send it off to " points west ". Well stocked.

Don't confuse me Chief, I'm only a TOG, the other place has just lost my log on data and I would much prefer to keep it simple.
I take it that come new year this will be the only place I need to come for a coffee, even though I prefer a pint pot of hot sweet tea (sorry to be pedantic) which has been the correct way to drink the nectar of the gods for over 500 years here and 3,000 in China.
Ran my Copper Canyon set for a while last night, looking forward to Charles Ro. doing the business. The base board planning is going fine, it's going to be a tight squeeze though.

Don, I dont know if you have any TMCC 2 Locomotives, but even if you dont, you can do almost everything with TMCC 1 as I know you can with them that I know of. You can program them where you have that "Speed Bar" and make their own names and roadnumber that are displayed when you press there name. Also alot of cool things go on when you control switches and accessories.
So far, I would give this system 5 stars.

Thank you, Chief. It has been one year now since I first joined this forum, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. The practical information and advice I have received has been invaluable. It was another cold, cloudy day in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s. Two of the grandkids were down here today and I ran the Polar Express for them today. The older one helped me switch the cars. One of the cars had some trouble coupling up (note: train related information was contained in this post). Was going to see to National Treasure tonight, but it was too full by the time we got there so we rented "Music and Lyrics". Tomorrow is the last day for the exhibit at the museum. I got the latest issue of Trains, which is good as usual (note: two items related to trains. In the same post!?!?). We had the usual fare for breakfast this morning. I hope everyone has a good day.

I think there is a lot of helpful items right here on the pot,daily. mixed in with much friendly chatter. I still feel new here but have gained a lot of respect for those who post and will gladly call them "friend",

Been a long day. Quite honestly, this arguing gets tiresome. Hate to say it, but it makes me less inclined to read through the threads when so much of the posts are either folks arguing or just posting for the sake of posting, not knowing what they are talking about. There is, or at least there was a lot of folks with vast knowledge of this hobby on here. It seems less so lately.

I've wittnessed posting of wrong advice and then that person going back and editing the post. People around here are not dumb. Easy to see. I want to thank all who have posted "honest" posts to the Coffee Pot over the years. You nave made this one of the most popular threads in the train fourms. Best to all of those who read and don't post very often. This thread was started one morning while I was in a Holiday Inn in Savanah GA waiting for a Bass Pro Shops to open. Elliot [Big Boy], Tom Pescha, Buckeye and my self got it going. It has really grown. Most joining us have been great friends. A few problems "crop" up now and then. They have gone or hopefully will go. Thanks to all of you, the "Pot" [as it is called with affection] will go on. God bless us all.

That's the way deer hunting goes. I don't hunt anymore but used to always see tons of deer in squirel season and lots of squirels in deer season.
JOHN, I got the same CNJ. Just trains went on there site about a week ago and saw the blow out for 399 and just lost out bidding on a 3rd rail Niagara so I figured why not. So no problems? I always liked the look of em. JOHN, how are the sounds and the smoke?
Yes probably go on Monday for deer again, maybe get lucky?
