Late morning all!

Slept in this morning. Really needed it. Cloudy and not raining as predicted. Big front now hits tomorrow morning. 67 right now!

Frank (Chief) - great pic of you! Is that the formal pic for the former mayors wall at city hall? Congrats! Wish we were closer to be able to attend!

Fife - looks like you have experienced the second of the two greatest days as a boat owner!

Regards, Roy

Chief.... Congratulations on 30 years of service to Roseyville! I remember when it used to be just a cross roads.......and it still is. LaughLaughLaughLaugh

fife.... You will miss that little boat. I put in my application for the Age of Steam as discussed.

Sir James... You got voting money and I was chased by the Roseyville Police. Huh? Now maybe I can drive through NC.

Very happy to see Penske will be new owner of the Speedway. He will make the needed changes and yes, Roy is right. There is no innovation.

Next surgery scheduled for 11/22.

Cloudy and cold 30 going to 40. Dat pic of da Chief must have been taken the first time he ran for office. I'm gonna miss the $$ he use to send for my votes. Lot of leaves still on the trees, I chopped the down ones with the mower yesterday as we can't burn them.

Chief - Very nice poster.  Well done on your 30 milestone.  (I did 30 with PD)  Wish I could attend, and get some of that free food.

Banks - Acquired in May '09.  Usually the first to launch in Spring, and the last to haul out in Fall.  Behind me now.

KRM - I just love the sights, sounds and smells of PW Lionel.

anjdevil - Waiting patiently for the next video, Cecil B.....

Good evening all,

Nice Picture, Chief.  Congrats on 30 years service.  Spent part of the day watching commentary on Indy sale.  Most seem to approve.  Sort of hard to accept in a way.  Never knew anyone but the Hulmans owning the Speedway.   Mentally, I know it is probably the best scenario, but emotionally......................   Been a lot of stressing events in the past days and weeks.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Doctor running all day with wifey. Took the wife out to lunch at a nice little spot in Serena IL only about 150 people in that place but the Serena Cafe has been there on US RT 52  since 1938 and I don't think it has changed at all. I worked in Serena whenI first retired for Farm Service, FS.

Guys, I wish Roger Penske would buy NASCAR from the France's, it can't get any worse than it is now. I think his buy of IMS & Indycar from the old George family will be a good thing for the track and series. Only problem is his age, leaves a lot of ????????????????????????????

Congrats Frank for 30 years of a job well done. Yes That picture of you must be from when you started 30 years ago. Laugh

Forgot to say, I ran trains for about an hour tonight. Put some away and got some out. Running all post war on all of the lines as of now. Main line is the Alaska  ALCO FA-2 Powered two Motor AA set, Custom built. Upper level is the Missouri Pacific ALCO FA No. 205 Power A unit and B set. Kids loop is the United States Army Gas Turbine Switcher# 41, the logging line is the Rio Grande #53 snow plow and the bump line is the # 50 Gang Car! Big Smile

Pirate  Well, no more Rails & Sails; just rails.  Sold the old yatchett to a nice man who will appreciate it.  He even invited me back to sail on her in the Spring.  We'll see.  Went to the railyard, and started getting the light strands ready to go on the passenger cars.

Banks - Great news on your princess.

Roy - Glad you're on the mend.

Phish - I should have sold the boat back in '16...

cheapclassics - I was wondering how you received the Penske announcement.

Evening folks!

64 and drizzling here. Drizzled all day due to weak front. Rain tomorrow, stronger fronts later this week.

Interesting development re IMS. Other than Indy, all racing suffering from lack of attendance. Not sure how it continues. All series essentially forcing all cars to be mechanically identical takes all the fun out of it.

Voted, only state propositions on the ballet. One of which is to make it even harder to pass a state income tax here.

New voting machines. Much better. No internet connections. You get a paper printout of your vote to review. Then feed the paper ballot into the ballot box (also no internet connection. Paper ballots back everything up. Did not have any physical proof/backup with old machines. Had to trust it and as I understand it, it electronically reported the status all day long. Made it too easy for news to start reporting results as soon as polls closed.

Happy Election Day 2019....Yes, I voted......and voted NO on the only question.  The state government always has their hand in my pocket....

Short night last night, had dinner, moved Halloween from the garage to the attic.  Installed a spinner on Dad's steering wheel so he can steer better with his right arm, the left is the problem.
So, he was pleased, and that is good.  Still in a lot of pain, looking into options and a 2nd opinion.

Watched a bit of TV and off to bed, I did fall asleep on the couch for a bit.

Hope to get moving some on the layout, I was going to sell at a train show in South Jersey, but we have scheduled Dad's birthday party to Saturday the 16th.  There will be others....

MikeC - Penske will protect the heritage and honor with the Speedway - I agree, better than NASCAR owning it.....And MAYBE Indy Car races will be more open to more manufacturers like may be CHRYSLER??  You may recall that in the mid 60's Chrysler built and tested for Indy and was legislated OUT before they even got the engine on the track.....

Prayers for all in need....

Off to work, getting busy, which means I still have a job...back Later!!

Good evening all,

Stunning news today.  Roger Penske bought IMS and Indycar from the Hulman-George family!!!  First ownership change in 74 years.   Initial reaction appears to be favorable.  Hope it works out.  Better than NASCAR buying it.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evening all!

Sunny and 75 today. Very nice. Big front on the way mid-week.

Found a nail in RR tire on the Tahoe after parking at the doc's office this morning. Stopped at Discount Tire (where I bought them) - they were backed up, so made an appt for in the morning. Not leaking air, so fingers crossed.

Doc said hand/knuckle/finger healing normally, but it will be several weeks before it returns to normal. No need for any further followup appts unless something unusual appears.

Spent time this afternoon cleaning/sorting/tossing trash in my office/ work area.

Regards, Roy

Afternoon.  Cooler weather.

Had district state garden club meeting this AM.  Only guy there.  District director kept saying "you ladies".  They are not use to having men present.  Made a lot of new friends.

Town Board tonight with a big agenda.  Almost finished.  Will be glad.  Tired of this stuff.

Later.

Happy Monday - hate this time change B$........

Jenni won 50 clams for Scariest costume.  Fife - yeah, that would be accurate....lol!!  We didn't get to bed until 3 AM.

Saturday was an "off" day, Saturday night helped my sister and BIL with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Light the Night walk.  My brother and SIL and my 2 nieces were there as well.
Went to bed by 10, needed the sleep with the extra hour.

Yesterday was the World's Largest Rolling Toy Run in Philadelphia for Toys for Tots.  Yes, this was a motorcycle event, we obviously took the Road Star.  When we left at 0900, it was 45F and we got to Philadelphia at 1005.  We did a little of the "Flea Market" and bought some items, played some games at Dave and Buster's - well it was right there, after all......saddled up ran the 10 miles through Philadelphia.  Stayed for a bit at the after party at the Casino, ran over to Walnut Street to visit my daughter at work, then ran home by 445....and it was getting dark.....By the time I had cleaned up and put everything away, it was 8 and started laundry, left the last load in the drier by 9.   54F when we arrived home.  Yep, it was cold, but it was for the kids, so we went and had a GREAT time!!

Next Saturday, we'll get the new steering box in Jenni's Charger and that should take all day.  I have someone with a lift and a garage so that will help.....a lot!! AND it's indoors.....Sunday it's up in the air....and if we do nothing, I'm good with that.  Might have to start the 2nd temporary garage.....

Dad is still not good and nothing has changed.  New meds are in and just waiting for some kind of change.  Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, they are very much appreciated by myself and my family.

Prayers for all those in need.

Banks - great news re your daughter! Prayers!

Final plans for daughter's wedding next Sun are all falling into place.

Doc appt in am for my hand. Getting better but a couple issues to discuss.

Watched the NASCAR race today. Kinda boring....noted the stands were pretty sparse...the speedway here in Ft Worth is a BIG place.

Hello there,

Very few Trick or Treaters last evening.

A good day at the train show.Got to see some old friends. A few new dealers, and several familiar faces missing. Part of the discussion today is the lack of new blood.

I did get a really good bargain,

Set 310

only $40.00 for a Gilbert HO set #310 from 1955 and a seperate sale transformer. The track is Gilbert from the 60s Pikemaster era.

After the show Mrs and I did some Christmas Shopping, had a late lunch and stopped to see the progress on the addition to Daughters house SIL is building then homemade pitza.

Great news, daughter did tell us yesterday that patholgy showed no cancer in her ovaries.

Bed is calling

Prayers for those in need

Good Evening from beautiful 42°F Southern Ohio,

We finished putting the Sealer on the house yesterday afternoon.  I am very pleased with the way it looks.  The manufacturer says it is good for 10 years, so we’ll see.

A friend from one of the parishes I serve gave me a box of AF parts and pieces nothing working or easily restorable but all good for parts.

Maybe this winter I’ll get to refocus on train projects and the layout.

Kev – I was moving leaves today as well.  There is still a lot of leaves on the trees but I did not want to wait till all of them were down.  I did that last year and it made the cleanup a lot harder.

Chief – Nice Buck.

Fife – I heard someone say it is a good day when you buy a boat, and a better day when you sell your boat.

Don – Don’t you love it when the simple fix works.

Bride is making supper and the kids will soon be home from Youth Group.

Good night and may God bless you and your families

JIm

Good evening,,,WOW pitch black at 5:30pm :-(

I spent 4 hours trying to burn wet leaves but did do well. Got most of the yard done and what was to wet to sweep I blew into the woods with the leaf blower. Leaves are about 80% down now.

We made it to 54 today but the rest of the week is in the crapper so I had to get it done today. Left over chili tonight. Sandra has doctor stuff all next week. At least we got the Okay from BCBS for the go ahead of the hip replacement on the 4th of December. Lots of loops to jump through first.

Sunny, 45,at the moment, 67 today. Very pleasant weather!

Somehow missed yesterday. Did not really do anything except deal with ins adjuster in the am, watched John Wayne in the Searchers in the afternoon, and dinner out with neighbors in the evening.

Morning. Chilly start. High in the lower 60's. Will wear long sleeves to hunt this afternoon.

SonIL shot 9 pointer yesterday. Glad he did. Stand I will probably hunt today. If deer had come back today, I would have had to shoot him. One a year is usually my limit. Going now to watch and enjoy. If a bigger one comes, will shoot it.  Photo doesn't show antlers well.

Hello there,

Posted last night thinking the place was deserted all day. Realized this morning there was a new POT.

Hello there,

not much goin on here lately. Everybody more to Facebook? ?

Scratched around the basement trying to come up with a spreading tool to work on my 259E. Nothing yet.

Studied my lathe some too. No easy solution. I think I'm going to put it back together. Leave a bit of slop between the carriage and bed and run it. Pap had it adjusted so tight it took a fair amount of effort to crank it. If the gear strips again I'll come up with a way to lower the rack.

Trick or Treating is rescheduled to tomorrow evening here. Last evening was hard rain and high winds.

Best go before I crash.

Mornin' boys.  Crisp air and 27 degrees along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Fetched grandson in Fredrick last night, as he is with us for the weekend.  The boy chatted the whole way back.  Stopped by middle princess's house for some candy, then went home and hugged youngest princess, who came home for the weekend as well.  Life is good.

The sale of the yatchett is realy looking promissing, as potential buyer and I will meet this week on-board.  Gonna take a hit on the value, but it will be more than recouped without marina fees in the next couple years.

Got home late last night thanks to Wifey running her mouth at her sister's.  Then drove home through tornado warning [didn't know].  No damage anywhere.  Think all up high but radar showing.  Not that much rain either.

Sunny and chilly.  Out early this AM.  Back to change to go to pastor's retirement thingy.  Hunt tomorrow afternoon as not driving late tonight to farms

Thanks RT.

Happy Friday and All Souls Day...............

And I made FIRST PAGE without starting the 'Pot (Thanks, RT!!)

Had a good time last night Jenni was a possessed nun and I was the Exorcist.....Knowing the foul weather coming, afterwards, we de-halloweened 2 houses and lucky we did.  I was up at 0200 and I was fearing the worst, that the temporary garage was going to fall all over the road runner. At 0600, the garage was still there.  Tornadoes, high winds and beating rain.  Still very windy, but the Sun is up and hope to warm the office.  It was 45F when I left at 0640.  Up to 59F later.

Dad had a slight fall and stripped some of the skin off his arms Wednesday night.  Mom spent the day carting him around getting the doc to look at it and getting him his meds and bandages.  He is very tired as he has not been sleeping well.  Hopefully last night was better.  Chemo is next week, Iron infusion was Wednesday.

Halloween Party tonight at the Tavern downtown.  Should be fun.

Tomorrow we will be helping my sister with Light the Night, the company she works for is a major sponsor and she runs the booth and we help out for food......lol

Sunday is the Philadelphia Toy Run......

Off to work...back later

November already? Winter months won't go this fast, Esp. since they are all 6 weeks long. Lots of rain and wind here yesterday. Not sure what the kiddies did, we didn't see any. Looks like a week in the 40s.

Thanks RT!!

Got down to 20 last night. So as long as the ground top was frozen I loaded up some wood in the Gator and put it on the front porch to burn. Last of the 4 year old stuff.

With the 4.5" of heavy wet snow yesterday now that it is thawing about 1/2 of the leaves have fallen on top of it. No way to sweep and burn that so I guess it will have to lay there all winter and get mulched next spring this year.

Well off to Culver's for some lunch then get supplies at Krogers.
