Banks - Funeral is Tuesday.  Fifedog has been a road-dog.  By the end of the week will have logged a thousand miles on the Durango.

My train room has been my "sanctuary".  Wound up installing 3 of the 4 loops, and all are up and running.  Before I know it, a couple hours pass by, and I fall asleep easier and longer.  Sound like the My Pillow guy...

Thanks everyone for the sentaments.  I will certainly pass them along to Ms. Kelly.

 Started out at 0 today.

Prayers Fife,  Angel

Seems it is that time of year.

My cousins are dropping like flys.   Cousin Dick the one that died this summer, his daughter Muffey, called me Tuesday night to let me know that my older cousin Terry, Dick's brother in Florida had a stroke and Jodie his wife had a spell of low blood sugar and took a fall , hit her head that caused a brain aneurysm and is not excepted to live. Then last night my cousin Tom, my younger cousin called and told me what I already knew about Terry and Jodie. He said Andy there son called and said Terry is doing fair but they still have Jodie on machines and it don't look any better. Then to top that off he told me Sandy, Tom's older sister has lung cancer but he does not know what stage or anything yet. Never smoked. He also told me she had cancer 27 years ago and seems it has come back. I never knew that. So I had to let my other cousins in central IL and my brother know. Tongue Tied

Good afternoon from sunny 14°F Southern Ohio,

It was 5°F this morning when I left for work, but the was no breeze so it did not feel too bad.  It is a challenge to keep the water for the critters from freezing.  The kids are going out several times a day and dumping ice and refilling the water bowls.

I had a GREAT Christmas.  With Christmas Eve being on Sunday, I had the regular Sunday Masses, then three Christmas Eve services.  It made for a joyful, busy day.

Our daughter came in last Saturday from Hollywood and it has been a really nice visit.  We went and saw the new Star Wars movie, it was good, not the best of the series but not the worst either.  I’ll drive her back to the airport in Cincinnati on Saturday.  She had a picture of our old home painted for us.  It is beautiful.  Seeing it kinda choked me up as this is the first Christmas I’ve ever had away from that house and in only the second home I’ve ever lived.

My second favorite present was my new garage.  I did staple a big red bow over the garage door.

Spank – I’m lucky in that I’ve got a really good ACE hardware about a mile from home.  I usually go there one or two times a week.

Fife & Kev – I’ll keep your family in my prayers

Lunch over and time to check on the guys

May God bless

Jim

Fife, Kev, and Chief - prayers for your families ...

Back from doc appt - she could not do the physical - time frame does not meet Medicare "secret" rules - but we were able to do a Medicare approved "wellness checkup" which is not a physical - went through my medical history/needs - rescheduled the physical in Feb - our government at work....

Banks - you load sixteen tons and what do you get, another day older and deeper in debt. Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go...I owe my soul to the company store....

There seems to be no end to the craziness,

Yesterday I hooked up the plow to the Ranger and it does nothing?????????????? It was working fine when I took it off the truck this summer after mounting everything up... WTH????
So anyway it seemed to be electrical. I got it to move up twice and power down once then it just sits there, Checked for power at the unit and it has it. To cold yesterday to be in Sandra's garage more than a few minutes at a time so I un-hooked it and came back in.
So today, Brian helped me lift the plow blade up to where I could get it hooked to the truck and the truck with the plow is warming up in the shed where it is 60 degrees. After the truck sat in the shed with the heat on for an hour it all works???? WTH anyway? What good is a plow if it can't get cold??? So I am guessing I will leave the plow on the truck and just swap trucks in the shed before a storm. Good God!!! My luck stinks! Bang Head Bang Head

Good Afternoon,

Gee lots going on for everyone, Prayers for everything that all are going through.  Fife's BIL & Family, Kev's family, Chief's daughter, and everyone else in need !

Things quite here, the weather is crazy again, see everything going on in the mid-west and east, and we are sitting out here in 80 deg..  Doesn't make sense.

New law goes into affect on Monday, Recreational Pot is legal.  They did put out a "reminder" no smoking pot while driving!  I don't know if there is any test for driving while under the influence, but it could get real crazy.

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year, and try to be safe!

Hello there

FifeAngelfor you and yours

Phish. ....is there electricity available in your chicken coop? There are lots of different style heaters available to keep the water from freezing. What style waterer are you using?

Lots of running and appointments today.(in a waiting room now) The temperature never got over 16. I'll finish unloading the coal during tomorrow's heat wave. Supposedly 23 for the high temperature.

Time to go.

Prayers for those in need

Evening ladies and gents !

Fife & Kev, thoughts and prayers for your families. Seems like this has been a very rough year for everybody. Kind of put a bit of a damper on Christmas this year.

My cancer drugs kept me from going to the museum last Friday as well as tomorrow. But the real kicker was passing out and taking a header on the bathroom floor last Saturday. Must have been out for awhile as there was quite a puddle of blood on the floor but the worst part is the fractured ribs. They remind you of what happened anytime you sneeze, cough or roll over in bed. This to shall pass.

I am planning on being at the museum on New Year's Day. It has turned into a tradition, our BetterHalves join us for the day as we have a nice lunch together followed  by a bit of bubbly. Shrimp Creole w/garlic bread sounds good for New Year's Day.

Getting tired, time to sign off.

Prayers for all in need.

Happy New Year !

Good evening all,

Prayers going out for all concerned.  This time of year tends to be bad as well as good.  Did not sleep much last night.  Still cold.  Did go see Star Wars.   Not sure where they are going to with the story line now.  This one is still better than any of the "prequels".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Brrrrrrr boys...

Dougnotta - Holy cow!  Do I need to come out there and be your orderly?

Phish - My folks gave me a 1956 American Flyer Washington 4-4-0.  The oldest Princess won it on ebay for $158.  (She is my little blonde assasin when it comes to bidding)  Took a few hours for the engine to shake off the cobwebs, but now it runs and smokes just fine.  Need to figure out a way to keep those pony trucks from derailing.  I'm surprised how closer to O27 scale it is then S.

Need to drive to Frederick for the Wifey hand-off today.

Was 12 degrees on phone this AM. Weather station indicated 14. TV station, 16. Whatever, its cold. Already 23 and going to 42. 50 tomorrow. Then 33 Sunday. Guessers saying below freezing from then for 60 hours. BURR.

Off to check on Daughter.  Then meeting at town hall.  Hunt tomorrow as going to be 50.

Dougsnotagrump, holy comoly.  Get well and be careful.  My chemo tablets made me "drunk" for the first three takes.  Now body has gotten use to them.  Only get tired real fast for a few days.  Hope you adjust.

See Buckeye posted.  He is still hiding from the chunk of coal her got from Santa.

Yanks, stay warm and safe.

WOW, DougDG watch out! Heal up pal. Those falls are bad!

Cousin Terry's wife passed yesterday as soon as they took her off the machines. Sad

A big 8 degrees out there and may make it to 13 today. Kind of a heat wave of late. Had about 1.5" of new snow last night and they say maybe 3" or 4" more today. Going to light the fireplace and watch Rawhide.

We woke to a +10 this morning and a dusting of snow. Ten day forecast shows no sign of any warm-ups. We venture out for necessities and that's about all. Roads are good it's just cold.

Good evening all,  as Don mentioned, Legal pot is going on sale here on Monday.  I wonder if that is any safer than smoking tobacco?  I think they are just buying trouble.  Glad I don't have to go through all that stuff.  Been laying low for a couple of days.  Went out to breakfast as usual today with my train buddies.  My system is out of sorts tonight.  I guess my G.I. problem is acting up.  Been eating too many different things during the holidays.  Happy New Year,

Ray

Hello there,

lazy day. Chiropractor appointment this AM so I tried to take it easy the rest of the day and not screw it up.

Did a little on line banking after I reset a couple user name and passwords lost when memos got deleted from my phone.

Late this afternoon the house was getting chilly and I found the auger uncovered and the fire out. Thought I had enough on it. Took a few minutes to start the fire and about an hour for the house to warm up.

Never got to unloading the coal. Tomorrow is another day.

1to 3 inches of Snohomish predicted for tonight  so son put snowplow on the Massey today. Will add the chains tomorrow if necessary.

Time to crash.

Prayers for those in need. .

Morning all!

It was nippy this morning! Like Banks, I had some sort of heating malfunction during the night. The house was high 50's when I got up and no sound of the furnace running. I checked the electrical and the thermostat and all seemed okay. I gave the access panel a "Fonzie" punch and it started!! Eeyyyyy! Big Smile

Still getting over a nasty cold/flu. Even us "healthy" folk who never get sick haven't been spared in this round.

Not much else on the go today. I'm thinking it will be a lazy Saturday.

Have a good one. Prayers.

Rob

WOWZER cold. 3 out there and they say New Years Eve it will be 6 for the high  -14 at night and only -3 for new years day and -15 that night.

Never buy a Lenovo computer, JUNK!!!!!! Mine crashed AGAIN to the screw you blue screen. Had to take it in again to get it fixed. Done this about 4 times in two years. Good thing I have this laptop back up that Ryan gave me a few years ago. Angry Been having all kinds of issues with electrical stuff.

The brain on the snow plow quit working when the plow gets cold and that is a $686.94 to replace. What good is a plow that don't work in the cold???

I used the tractor to plow yesterday. Bang Head Coldest place on earth sitting on that tractor.

Best get going.

Hope you guys can keep the heat going till spring gets here.

Good Afternoon from a snowy 24* Southern Ohio,

We have a couple of inches of snow.  Grabriel and I went sledding down the front hills.  It was wicked fast and fun.  We broke two sleds going airborne and landing.  I'm guessing I'll be sore tomorrow.

Fife - The Washington (the blue a gold version of the red and green Franklin) are large.  The Washington is harder to find.  Did you get the red 50 car and the 65 cannon car too?

Try adjusting the tension on the pony wheels spring, a slight stretch may help

May God bless

Jim
