Roy sorry to hear about your friend and all that bad weather in your area.

No real plans for today may see if the wife wants to go into Aiken tomorrow or Tuesday. I want to get a couple things at lowes/HD and she wants to goto Ross clothing store for a couple of things. I need some wire and some wire wheels. to work on some rust spots on some parts I have.

Presently 68 going to 74 and cloudy here today with possible shower or thunder storm later today.

Hope all enjoy the day in what ever there doing talk to you all later

37 now and will be lucky to hit 40 today cloudy and gray.  Cold and damp goes right to these old bones.  Tongue Tied

Roy sorry about your friends and the storms. Sandra and I have been there and done that. It is no fun. Houses can be rebuilt but the lost lives can’t be replaced and the injured never heal all the way. I lost two people I knew and one who was very close to me when the 1990 tornado hit Plainfield. I wonder how Denton and Springtown did? I cringe every time I see those things going on.

Mornin' boys.  Still damp and 50 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Big travel day.  Hope all had a nice Christmas.  I got some rail goodies that I hope to post on a future SPF.

Roy - So glad you are ok.  Those twisties took the Big D by surprise it looks.

Chief - Like your boy, I too married a pretty lady with 3 girls (then 14, 12, and 5).  Lots of challenges ahead, but if he can stay the course, the rewards are many.  And thanks for checking in.

Good evening all,

A good day.  Rainy but warm.  Watched 2 EPL matches today.  Everton beat Newcastle on a last second goal and Southhampton stomped all over Arsenal 4-0.  Ran all 3 types of trains tonight.   Rebuilt LEGO fall house into winter cottage.  All in all, it was a good day.  Been reading the latest CTT.  Very good issue.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Well all good here. So many tornado sirens going off it sounded like a London air raid during WWII in the old newsreels. Homes hit just a few miles away from us in Garland TX. Friends in east Dallas area of Rowlett TX have no power and another acquaintance in Rowlett lost their home completely.

Evening all from wet and warm (mid 50’s) Southern Ohio,

The presents are put away from under the tree and I put the Marx set I just got under the tree for the kids to play with. The loco cleaned up really well and the red Loctite seems to be working on the loose drive wheel.I love the sound of the tinplate on tube track. The loco runs and reverses real smooth and draws less than 2 amps at 8 volts pulling 5 cars. Not bad for an 80 year old train.

Tinplate- Good news!

Chief-Those twins are cute, take after your side of the family right?

RT – Great troubleshooting and repair.

Goodnight and may God Bless

Buckeye, you didn't say you received your present. ????  I felt sorry for you and sent one.  I knew Santa was leaving you a bag of coal.

Chief......Thank you for the really nice gift this year.  I'm over whelmed by your generosity, however when you told me you were sending me a Big Boy, I imagined something in black that ran on three rails. Whistling

Afternoon all!

Wonderful time with family and friends last two days. Tired but a good tired.

Good to see things have gone well for all including those needing some support Angel

Some storms approaching. Not sure what the intensity will be yet. Still 70s but temps start dropping tomorrow to freezing by mid-week. Still saying snohizo for Mon night. We'll see.

Our kids joined us to go see "Daddy's Home". Funny but too much language.

Headed out for some dinner with friends.

Good morning all,

Had a nice Christmas day with the family yesterday.  I did all the cooking but it was worth it.  DIL helped with the clean up.  Grandson was home from college.  My oldest son gave my wife some puzzles and crosswords geared to people with dementia/Alzheimers.  She enjoyed them.  They are suppose to help exercise your brain.

Ate a lot of candy and goodies yesterday.  Lot of ham left over to deal with today.

Chief, those are beautiful little twins at your layout.  Pretty girls!

Wind blew hard all night and did some more damage to my wooden driveway gate.  Plan on getting a wrought iron gate to replace it and just let the wind blow through it.  The old one just acts like a sail.  Found some roofing material in my yard this morning that was blown off my neighbor's car port.  Another shower predicted this week.

Have a great weekend.

Ray

Morning all. not much going on think this cold is coming back instead of going away at one point I thought it was about gone but it's hanging on for dear life I swear. Mainly just runny nose and some coughing but getting worst oh well think need to get out side some and air the house out but it's rainy again best chance for sunny is New Years.

Well did about a $100 parts order last night and that was with removing the 2 E-units as I basically got these working I think they just need cleaning any suggestions on how to clean a sticky E-unit.

Figured part of the problem was some one wired the light to where the middle pickup came up from under the engine and connected to the E-unit and made a bigger solder joint than it should of been and it caused a short there so fixed that and the 736 started working other than the E-unit is sticking it still may need replacing but for now at least I can get it to switch direction by killing power then playing with the switch on top when I add power again. so it needs cleaning but for now it does work. lol. once I get the longer light sockets leads in I will hook the light back up and put it back together and send it out to be fixed as the worm gear wheel ( gear on axle is worn and binds sometimes) and that one wheel is out of quarter by about 1/16" so that wheel on one side has to come off the other side is fine. So tells me some one had it off before and put it back on wrong. Other than that it's a good running engine.

Got the 2023 running also but it's E-unit is sticking also but another good running engine but the shells need repainting definitely cleaning first. They look like a easy repaint just need to get the decals for the front. I've noticed just about ever one of the silver ones look like crap on ebay. So may get bold and try to pain one set yellow ( I have two sets) the one set I think will clean up okay if not will do them in silver.

I have a 2671 I'm working on has a good shell other than it looks like it started to get hot at one point and a little melt and needs repainting as white is showing thru so may try repainting that and re-decaling it also. Will see as it a original and would look better and be better on the tender.

Did manage to get a last Merry Christmas in to SJ last night before the night was over.

Think I hear mail lady out side that's 4 more packages Smile

Talk to you all later

Tinplate, glad the news about your wife is much better than you feared. I have been through this and I know first hand what follows when the news is not good.

Hope everyone had a perfect Christmas Day. Remember, there are twelve days of Christmas, so we have several more days to celebrate the joys of this special time of the year. My Bride and I had a wonderful Christmas day.

Afternoon all. Merry Christmas. Was 80 degrees yesterday. A/C is still on. 70's today. Rainy of course. Yesterday was hectic. Kids and future grandkids. House full as Frankie now has 3 girls. 6 and twins 4. Wife to be says another one next year. OH boy. She is a hoot. Yankee from the NY state. Raleigh PD officer. Grew up hunting and fishing. Wants me to teach the girls the same. Twins ran the trains yesterday.

6 year old is OK with them but not like the twins. Wifey's folks last night at her sister's. Resting up today. New friends coming for a late meal.

Seems good news reporters are giving me a break.  Still haven't released the actual happenings of the fire and deaths.  Waiting on SBI crime lab results.  Slow.

Buckeye, you didn't say you received your present. ????  I felt sorry for you and sent one.  I knew Santa was leaving you a bag of coal.

Merry Christmas gang. Hope your all doing well. The grass is green here to. Tongue Tied

Tinplatacis You and your wife are in our prayers.  Angel

Started the day out removing everything from the freezer so I could un-plug the drip pan drain for the defroster. It got plugged and had frozen shut so when it would cycle it filled the bottom of the freezer with water. Bang Head  What a PITA. Then turned on the Lap-top and windows 10 loaded an up-date that took two hours. I don't think it to that long to load it the first time. Smile, Wink & Grin
Got breakfast out of the way and will be going to the SIL folks house later for Christmas dinner.

Enjoy your day.

Tinplatacis - I would urge you to reconsider not posting.  I don't post much in this forum but read daily.  On the forum where I do post the support I received from the other memebers was a huge help when my wife was diagnosed, all through her treatment, and her passing in April of this year.  My heart goes out to you  in  this very difficult time.

Merry Christmas from warm Southern Ohio.It got up into the low 70’s.

After a good cleaning and some re-soldering I got the Marx Engine I just received looking great and running like a champ.I ended up using some red locktite to keep the wheel on the axel. It may be hard to let this one go to auction.

My Bride smoked ribs in the smoker and they were great and along with mashed potatoes and green beans.YUM.

The vigil Mass at 4 pm was packed.Grandson read one of the scripture readings and his twin sister served.  All went well; beautiful service.Got home in time to change clothes and get to work.  We were busy earlier but the rest of the night should be quiet.

SJ-Not only is the grass green but it needs cut!

Ray-Most people understand that you do what you need to do, and some stuff, well it will wait for another day.

KRM-Your Santa helper is a cutie!

Tinplate-I’ll keep your wife and you in my prayers

Good night and may God bless
