Banks, It is nothing much about Facebook,,,,strange that CTT tells you to go "there" to see things they should be posting,,,,IMHO,maybe they get a bump to tell others to go there????,It is just some people don't care to go there. Heck all of the time there is news of how you can be hacked if you do. Just for me,, less is more. I hope it is just the time of year?

Heck it is what it is. How are the crops doing, Not much coming out here yet, was way wet and late but soon and it all looks bad.

And BTWI like the LED shed light so far. almost a year now!

Good evening all,

All I did Monday night was sleep.  Tonight wife and I went to see "A Walk in the Woods".  Good movie.  Floor is almost done on addition.  May be done by end of September.   Long day at work today.   There are days when I wish the earth would just swallow some people up.   Ugh!   Maybe things will get better.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 57 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Had grandson yesterday, and again today.  Ran trains, and had a nasty crash at the 45 degree crossover.  But for the cat-like reactions of yours truly, my traveling Chessie hi-cube boxcar would have met the cement floor below.  NTSB on scene now.  I spent evening at yatchet to avoid further questioning...

I don't do Facebook.  I already spend too much time on this computer, without that too.  It bothers me when CTT tells me to check out such-and-such on Facebook.  Why not just post it here...?  Freinds and family give me that incredulous look when I tell them I'm not interested in Facebook.  Hey, you wanna talk to me, here's my phone number.

Happy first day of fall guys.

Fife I tell people I have this amassing piece of equipment that works great. You don’t need to know how to spell. You don’t need to know how to type, you don’t need to know how to read. All you need to do is punch buttons with numbers and you can hear my voice on the other end.   Laugh

Fife/KRM not sure but have heard others talk about getting paid for hits to there page on FB not sur how much but do know its very minumum but can add up and my guess this is the case here also so it's the way of the computer age I guess like or or not ( I don't either) and to me if there going to do that they should do a direct link to it also but then again they want you to like them follow them so you don't need that sorry I liked I have enough I follow that are more pertain to my personal things. I wish at times I could remove all my info from FB and close my account I can from what I understand suspend it but to actually remove it not able to from what I understand. Facebook shares to much info and ask for to much info

Morning all hows it going?  Okay here. Up had breakfast put the flag out for the day and now time to wait for the wife to get up other wise it's relax time now.

Hope you all are having a good hump day. Talk to you all later

Facebook has faults, but don't they all?  It has helped me find many long lost friends from the past, it keeps me in touch with out of town family. So until it reaches a point that it's not safe at all I will enjoy using it.

I'm baaack !

Good morning boyz & gurlz. We were gone for12 days, visiting with family members (mini family reunion) we hadn't seen in many years as well as showing the grandson where grandma and grampa grew up. We also managed to throw in a 50th anniversary class reunion  and a surprise 80th birthday party for my sister. Thought I might see buckeye at the Oktober Fest but no luck. Needless to say we did  Pig Out

What is with this software ? Half of what I had written just disappeared !

I'll try again since I have cooled down a bit so let's see if this XXXXX software works this time.

As I had indicated we visited our favorite haunts from our youth, sliders/coneys Frischs, at least the ones that were still around. The grandson is now a Whitecastle fan. Still disapponited that Davis Trains in Milford closed some years back, unfortunately didn't have the time to check out other shops that aren't closeby.

Facebook, don't need don't want. Nuff said.

Club's layout all decorated and ready for halloween, so for about the next 5 weeks properly themed trains will be on the agenda.

Heard that there were some rolling blackouts while we were gone due to the heat. Must have missed Escondido, none of the clocks and stuff were blinking when we got home.

Can't remember what else I had written so I guess I'll look in later.

Afternoon fellas

Been a bit since I posted last and for the most part not much has changed. Do have some nibbling going on, but no bites as of yet. Hopefully soon!

Been so busy with the job hunt and the data prep for conversion to the new company that time just gets away from me. No excuse, just 'splainin. Doesn't look good for York as it is the day before TheQ's Cousin's Wedding... depends on when the rehersal is and if TheQ will be home to pickup the kiddos... and if I can swing the day off. Sigh miss hangin with the guys!

FB - many companies are using it as a marketing tool, some do it well, other no so much. You can reach a whole heck of a lot of people with one post and then if they share it, and their friends share it, and their friends share it... it gets your company out there exponentially fast. This can also be used to grow our hobby, which I think is a good thing. As for me, I use it to stay connected with friends and family. I try to stay out of the 'conversations' with others on the more public pages - just not wise to air your dirty laundry in such a public space. As I've said before, to-each-their-own.

Glad everyone seems on the mend and in good spirits. God Bless.

Good afternoon all,

V8, I don't do facebook either.  Barely know how to do what I have to on the computer.

Grandson is adjusting well to his new college experience at last report. One of his apartment partners is cooking for 4 boys this weeK. They will probably all eat in the cafeteria after classes start next week.

Tried out some hired help today for caregiving for the first time.  I had a dentist appointment and did some shopping after that.  She was a very nice lady but she won't be around too long.  She is going to live with a son in Texas next month so I'll have to make other arrangements.

Doug da, welcome back!

later

Kev I didn't understand your post.

Trust me, your better off not understanding Dennis.

Ran a sweet 2065 Hudson today on the layout I have not ran for some time. I love it. TKS Hudson John!!! Used it to replace the 736 Berk pulling the log train.

Took the 6' mower down the woods trails to open them up some, otherwise I just messed around today. I am going to see my friend since I was 12 or 13 years old, Red Dog (AKA Keith) tomorrow. He called and will get off the drip Chemo on Friday and still wants to try to make it to Texas in the next two weeks or so. We will have to see how he is after the drip is over. I hope he can beat this. If some of you remember his brother Dave did not about 4 years ago.

Well better get behind the stove. Wife is hungry.

Hello all

Another work week on the mountain. We are still in maintenance mode, but are closing in on the start of operations. Getting a lot of projects done up here this summer.

On the home front, the Corvan is a going concern. New front brakes and dual circuit master cyinder are now in. Going to get the turn signals working this weekend and install a new exhaust system.

The engine on the '63 coupe is still stuck, but I did clean the car out a few weeks back. That project may wait until after the 4-door has been sold.

A good friend from the trolley barn offered me his N-gauge layout. Originally I was hesitant, but I think I am going to take him up on the offer. @ 4'x9' is has a lot of operating potential which I like. I'm going to sell off some of the O-gauge to make some funds for the purchase of N-gauge rolling stock. I'll keep the Marx and a few Lionel units that are special to me.

Time to find some breakfast and get on w/ the day.

Good morning all,

Just saw on "Trainorders.com" that the contractor that built the Gold Line Light Rail near me has turned the line over to the people who will operate it.  Schedule and start up of service expected within 30 days.  Meantime test trains are running.  It has taken three years for this extension from Pasadena to Azusa/Glendora to be completed.  This is a big day for us.

Back from my friend Red's place. He is doing good all things considered.

Bob, I don't think my old eyes and fat fingers would work with N gauge. Surprise

Here is a shot of the RS-3 starter diesel I got for $25.80 on the bay. Runs great and will be fine for the grand-kids to run. Was better than I expected. It is like new. Not even any dust on it.

And a thought for the day after seeing a comment about not complaining. Smile, Wink & Grin

Good evening all,

Very busy but ultimately a very good day at work.  Tomorrow should be quiet.  Watched the high school boys play very well in an 8-0 loss to a traditionally very powerful team.   Perhaps no one else thought they did well, but then no one else watching still plays the game......   No word on how the girls did, but they were tied 0-0 at the half.  Wife is still feeling puny.   Weahter is nice.  Some work was done on the house today, but I am not sure what.   I hope everyone has a good day.

The sun is shining, 70s today.

It's a beautiful day.

No special train news but meets and shows are on the horizon. I post on several boards, this is not the only toy train board.

Good afternoon all,

Hot weather continues here.  Where is Fall?  Wall to wall coverage of Pope's visit all day on TV today except announcement that John Behner is retiring next month.

Getting bored being couped up in the house because of the heat outside.

Hello all

We got a bit more rain this morning and it is fairly windy today. Mainly just caught up on sleep after coming off the hill.

Kev - I tried N-gauge once and thought it was too small. Then I started working on those 1/700 ship models and found it entertaining. My buddy gave me some rolling stock he didn't want and as I was tinkering w/ this engine I thought it was pretty cool that there was more rolling stock on the kitchen table than I had in O-gauge!

Some trolley work in the morning. Going to help a friend move his mom's stuff and some more van work this weekend.

Bob, I am looking at new ways to keep my mind working on the whole thing. And yeah, N gauge is alot in a small package, I may need to look into it. I think Doug M, did it once too. Not sure. For now I will stick with O gauge I have the room. Give me a PM and let me know what you want to shed. I think you will like N with the room you have.

Well for all intent and purposes the wood shed is full for the year. Took about an hour to finish it off.  I have two oak stumps that are about 22" in dia and cut to 24" long I will split when the SIL shows up so he can feel like he helped. (but what???) Most of the wood this year is dead ash and some shag bark hickory that Jim next door had to remove when we were working on the driveway.. Very little oak like last year's pile.

Have a good night.

Yep, it is bad when the gaurd dog bites the owner of that other place.  Smile, Wink & Grin

Hey Guys!

Just a quick stop by to say hi and a few updates. Mom is doing better and she can be left on her own for a day or so. I stay overnight a couple days a week, do the laundry, shopping, etc. and check up on her. I got a "Can you do us a favor" call from the Vo-Tech and now I am there during the day also. I am keeping my night classes, so I have been pretty busy. Everyone here is doing good and Granddaughter Kali has become a backseat driver at the age of 15 months. The other day I had her in my truck. I stopped at a stop sign. She yells, "Go!" After I started going I asked her if this was fast enough? She said, "NO, GO!" lol

Kev: Glad the 2065 worked out for you.

Prayers for those in need and just enjoy life. Look at all of the good things and laugh about the negative.

The guard dog didn't bite anyone. It was a minor incident that was quickly corrected. However the guard dog is going to start sending complaints to Bob about your constant harassment.

Hey,  long time.......

Sold the Reliant, kept the parts I needed to fix the Princesses car.  I'll see her in less than 2 weeks.

Spent $75 at a LHS, got some Atlas O track and a couple of fixer upper engines.

Windy and cloudy now in the 70's.

Off to the Italian Festa later, after the GF'S kiddie party......

I use Facebook for the Princess and family.  Reconnected with some old friends as well.  It doesn't rule my life.......

I participate in 2 forums and that's enough.  Work has put the kabosh on posting, so I try to keep up.

Brent - I'm sure something will come along.....

Fife - Hopefully the move will be easy.

Prayersfor those in need.......
