Afternoon all.  Home schoolers and Mom's just left.  Viewed gardens and got tips.

Here are the tomato cages I built.

Here are the practical ones from Burpee I use.

Don't suppose a HoHo & Ding Dong cake would have gone over very well even if it were topped with Twinkies. Smile, Wink & Grin  Black Eye

Aloha from a sunny and humid Chicago. Looks like a nice day of work for all the Social Securians. Yes, SJ, there's always something new that requires just a tiny bit more added to the bill. At least I don't have to pay a pastor because I'll be doing the service myself. LOL. I will be taking Fife's advice about comfy shoes to heart. Thank goodness this is my only daughter. Smile

Fife women sure love to plan weddings, but few have to pay the bills, yes of course I know some do help. Our forum friend Mr Murphy is only a few weeks away from where you are now. Sun, high of 80. Storms yesterday afternoon, more expected for today's PM.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 70 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  During my travels yesterday, might have found an 1882 General...we shall see.  Finished stitching up my jib seam, so will hank it up on the rolling furler today.  Need to start cleaning the treeboogers from the rainspouts, before the nursery blooms.  Fifepops has been called upon to babysit every Tuesday for the near future.

dougnotta - I only teared up when I saw how small the 1k wedding cake was...

Good evening all,

Long day at work.  Longer night at home.   PT has some starting issues now.  No rest for the wicked....   Hopefully quiet day at work tomorrow.   Too many issues to deal with now.  Hopefully will get to play game in warmer weather Wednesday night.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep  on training,

venin' All.

Fife, Congas on the wedding success. Now the question is  "did Dad get a bit tearey eyed during the Father Daughter Dance" ?

Finally got my appointment for my ICD procedure, later part of June. However I do have a big question for the doc during the pre-op routine a week before. Just discovered that some states pull the driver's license of ICD patients, guess they are concerned that the defibrolater will fire while you are behind the wheel. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me since the reason for it firing would more than likely cause you to wreck anyway. DUH Oh well, if it happens I told the BetterHalf I'd get rid of the truck and buy a big sedan and a chauffer's cap for her. She chuckled and said if that's what it takes to keep you around for awhile.

Busy day at the museum on Friday and Monday, lots of visitors all day. Guess the not so nice weather brought everyone indoors.

Gettin' tired, see ya'll later.

Afternoon fellas

Busy weekend, and I had to put in over 12 hours of work for work.... seriously need to find a new job. I went to college and grad-school so I wouldn't have to work weekends, esp holiday weekends!

Spent Friday evening driving Northwest of Frederick, MD. Went up and over the mountain 6 times! Tanked the Durango's MPG! Smile but she held up beautifully. Kiddos are growing up far too fast, and are far more intelligent than I was at their age! Everything is a negotiation with Christina now, and Matthew is just... well the quintesential boy.

Fife - sounds like a lovely wedding. Can't wait to see the pics... speaking of which - we need to get together prior to the exodus!

Haircuts? If it weren't for the scenery I would cut my own! Surprise

Found this weekend that my 8 year old Kenmore gas grill has some new holes where there isn't supposed to be holes. Been pricing a new grill and am highly considering a Weber Summit. A bit pricey for my taste, but if it lasts 20+ years which many of the reviews are claiming it will be worth it, and I may be able to pass it down to Matthew.

Nothing new on the train front... still lots planned, but finding the time is getting harder and harder. Sad

#2 son arrived home last night after spending weekend in Bay Area.

Tomorrow is graduation day for our grandson in high school.

Did my bi-weekly watering this morning.  Cool weather is keeping lawn green for now but when summer gets here, look out.

MTH is shipping my long lost ATSF Northern this week which has been in for repair for 6 months.  Still cheaper than buying another engine.

later,

Ray

Overcast, going into the 80s. Of course that includes a chance for storms. Chief for $25. I would want a haircut and a few drinks.

Hi,

Just opened me eyes.

No plans. 70, cloudy, heading to 80 with 90% rain.

Watched WWII in HD on H2 most of yesterday between Honey-dos.

Wife only has four days of school left till summer break. Tongue Tied

Was just walking in the woods. Counted another six dead Ash trees in the front of the house that have been done in by the emerald ash borer. Makes close to 50 or more trees on just our place over the last 7 years or so I have lost count.. Shame, they are some of the biggest and best trees. Sad

Have a good one.

Oh yeah, my last hair cut was $6.00 and a $3.00 tip

Aloha from a grey and humid Chicago where it might rain later. Had a nice long weekend. Spent a beautiful Sat. with a borrowed long pole saw and chain saw cutting back trees and brush. Sunday it rained and yesterday was off-and-on raining so didn't do much beyond listen to some baseball. It sure seems I save $ on haircuts not having much hair to be cut. Big Smile

Congratulations on the successful wedding, Fife. I have to do the same thing with my daughter in a few weeks.

Morning all.  Beautiful day out.  86 is going to be the high.

Worked on Wifey's projects all day.  Did use small tiller on garden middles.  Getting ready for a bunch of kids coming tomorrow AM for a garden lecture from Wifey and I do veggie gardening.

More projects and chores today.

No rest here Kev.

Sir J., you don't look like my "hair lady".  Whistling  You probably pay her $25 just to get to see her.  Wink

Prayers for Texicans.  Hope the storms stop.

Out the door to work.

Hello there
Been MIA for a while. Busy at work and we spent the weekend camping with Daughter and family at Raystown resort. . Free WiFi was part of the reason it was $65 a night for camping. Haha the WiFi. Sucked. On the rare occasions I was able to get on I think dial up would be quicker.

Fife.............glad to hear the wedding was a success. May they have a long and happy marriage

Best move on

Good morning all,

Hope you all have a nice day off this Memorial day.  It is still overcast here and cool but we'll take it.  Hot weather will be here soon enough.  Notice another neighbor near us has opted to tear out his lawn and install drought resistant desert type plants.  Doesn't look too bad but I'd hate to see the whole street like that.  I'm reminded of some plants we set out in the desert along the railroad track between L.A. and Yuma Arizona over 15 years ago to honor a conductor friend of ours who died on his train at that location.  We put up a station sign with his name on it with company approval.  However, I saw a photo recently of the location.  The sign is still there but the plants are history.  The nursery said the plants could survive in the Sahara desert but I guess they had never seen that part of the Southern Pacific Railroad.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY boys!  "Chamber of Commerce" kind of weather in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Lots to keep me busy around fifedom today.

Well, successfully handed off the oldest princess Saturday at sunset.  She was the quintisential Barbie doll in her wedding gown.  Wifey was her usual pretty hostess with the mostest, and the younger princesses were stunning.  Family couldn't get over how Alexis has grown.  The venue, Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa, got huge thumbs up from all whom attended.  The town of Chesapeake Beach (northern Calvert County) is somewhat a throw-back to what a seaside resort would look like a century ago.  There's even a refurbished railroad station outside the hotel.  Didn't feel like coming home yesterday, but once we did, my queen and I just felt exhausted.

Good evening all,

The race was dry and safe for the most part.  Penske won again but race was exciting and competitive.  Sato shot himself in the foot....again at the start, but did make a nice recovery.   Traffic both entering and leaving was worse ever.   Victory Dinner is tomorrow night.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Frank, You Vets deserve a day off.

Raining the 20% they predicted.

Well Dan the some-day-maybe and his friend came out and shot the heck out of their guns. So much they finally dropped the tree that sits behind where I have then put the target.

We have been shooting at it for 11 years. It is down now. (I won’t go near that with the chain saw.) Surprise   Dan's friend has this bad SIG 556xi with 40 round clips. I think they must of shot up well over $500.00 in ammo at $.50 each shot. I gave all of the brass to Jim next door to re-load.

Indy race was a sleeper till the end and ended better than many in the past. The winner Juan Pablo Montoya could not compete just like the Princess Sparkle Pony   in NASCAR can't. Must say something about the two Venues. But Tony Stewart never got to the line first at Indy.  Next up for today is NASCAR.

Morning.  Being lazy.  Will get moving in a few.

Weeded most of garden and poured a ramp up to big concrete pad.  Had washed away soil from edge where we walk.  Went to family night free movie.

Now I am trying to goof off.  Wifey had projects but I keep reminding her I'm a vet and its my holiday.   Whistling

Hope all have a safe and great holiday.

Good evening all,

Nice day.  Weather was good.  Moved all the train items off the back porch in preparation for room addition.  Was able to open all the storm windows for the first time in forever.   Will be a mess for awhile, but nice when it is done.   Went to a wedding this afternoon.  Former boss's daughter got married.  Outdoor ceremony and weather was good for that.   The race is tomorrrow and looks to be a dry day.   I hope for a safe, dry race with the good guys (or gals) winning.  Probably will be the "Evil Empire" again.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Got the topsoil and mulch laid in on the various spots needed around here...some of the plants got replanted as well.

Here we get ours done for around $15...or, if I really feel cost efficient I go to a hairdressing school and pay $5.

Good morning all,

S.J., I'm afraid the day of 50 cent haircuts is over.  My oldest son gets his cut by his wife.

Our son who lives with us is off on another adventure with his girl friend.  They are flying up to the bay area today to meet her parents.

No real rain yesterday.  Got nothing but a drizzle.  Took a ride over to local county park with a lake yesterday but it was late in the day around 4:00PM.  They wanted $5 admission for seniors with only three hours of daylight left.  I remember when it was $3 for seniors. Heck I remember when it was free before they developed the place.  Fishing was much better then too.  We just turned around and drove home.  Didn't seem worth the effort.
