Hello there,

Condolences to Rich and a couple of Belated Happy Birthday s

Still kinda hectic here. Freezing rain the other day made a mess. Wet weather ordinarily makes water pass through Mom's basement. Slight problem was that the floor drain was frozen shut some where. Had to find my pump and check it every hour or so Tuesday night. (Not much sleep) school was canceled for Mrs so she watched it Wednesday till it opened up.

Fife. .....we'll miss you at York. Anybody want to get together Friday night for dinner?

Frying fish again tomorrow.

I'm in the market for an inexpensive laptop. Very basic.  Hopefully with windows 7 as the OS. Any suggestions?

Sir james....safe travels

Mrs' sister is about the same.

Past my bed time. Best move on.

Prayers for those in need

Happy Friday....but I work tomorrow.....

Barbara brought Cat home in a beautiful urn and a certificate with his name on it.  Still cannot believe this has happened.

Bright and Sunny right now at 8F, still dealing with the aftermath of 8+ of Snohizio...left work at 2 got home and crashed until 5.  Back to bed at 930.

Took a sleeping aid last night and, of course, we had 4 fire calls.

Not much else right now.

Angel for those in need....be safe out there

Afternoon all!

Roads were almost completely clear by early afternoon yesterday. Snohizoo in sun gone. In the shadows still lots around. We stay above freezing for the next week with continual warming. Still 10 degrees below avg.

Looks like Maryland got nailed last night? Fife, Brent, sore from shoveling?

Making good progress on shelves in garage. Cleaning and sorting and chunking along the way. I now have 8' of work bench space that I have never had due to tool boxes, parts bins, etc., on bench, etc.

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

TGIF.....LAZ and Chuck

Oops From Southeast Ohio we are hearing snow reports.  I believe the snow cannon has exploded or backfired.Oops - Sign  Needless to say Blueberry Hill had 12" of snow and schools are closed. Idea If the snow cannon did not explode or backfire, there is someone in Kentucky who has a snow cannon and doesn't know how to point it in the correct direction towards Roseyville. Bang Head (Rogers Corners only had a skiff of snow.)

Q: If I retire in two years, will the Chief and Roy become homeless violent vagrants on the streets?  I am trying to access my options and protect the country at the same time.  Mischief  Maybe I should relocate to NC in order to straighten up that mess of a state.  Of course I want to live where there is warm weather and nice people so maybe I should set my sites on something farther south, like Guatemala.

Kevin.... I just received the Scenic Express Catalog.  There are several new products.  I really like reading their catalog, but I wish they had another book just to explain what every product can be used for on a layout.

CTT has a great FACEBOOK page, but some of the train stores are really outdoing themselves these days to show new products.  Ten years ago when I joined the forum a photo of a product was about as good as it could get.   MTH and Lionel now have basic instructional videos that seem to always have a little bit of information that that is useful. Times are a changing.

Temps are going in the right direction!

Good afternoon. Feeling kind of low today. Found out that two friends of mine have succumbed to the ravages of cancer. Ann Taylor who I have known most of my life and Randy Johnson who was a great friend the last eight years I worked. God’s speed to them both. Angel  Sad

Buckeye, I hope I get one of those catalogs from Scenic Express. Don’t know if I will, seeing I have only got the one thing from them.

Have a good day.

Afternoon all

Buckeye here in south carolina it's rare we get snow where I'm at in the 7 years I have been here we had like 12" one year (think that was because I might of brought it as it was first year here. ) and Don't think we have had more than 2" since then a year and can only remember like 2 years yes it gets cold here in the winter but nothing like your use to we have maybe 15 days below freezing a year normally in january/Febuary. I'm only about 1 1/2 hrs from N.C. so you could sneak up and into there from here real easy Smile

Kev...Sorry to hear about you losing your friends to cancer.  From 2000 to 2012 I lost four friends to cancer and two more to other illnesses.  It was not fun.  I carried too many caskets during those ten years.

RT...I have a cousin that lives in SC and knowing her, it must be a great place to retire.

Don't worry about the chief just remember down here they say why don't you all come on down and sit a while It's nice down here. Smile

Besides remember the chief said he was a Yankee Fan and that's why he lives in North Carolina instead of South Carolina yes he south of Mason Dixon line but that's for appearances

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.   Watched School of Rock tonight at home.   Roads were good both ways.   Gas was .25 cheaper in Indy than in Greensburg.  Go figure.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Ray some raw ground beef or even a part of a hamburger with exlax in it won't hurt the dog ( other than give it a bad case of #2 ) but sure will make a mess for the owner just put it over the fence at night after you see it again Laugh

Started early this AM at 25 degrees.  Now shirt sleeve weather.  Crazy.  Early meeting at Legislature Building with Rep. State Senator and Dem. County Commissioner Chair.  Talking things out in a peaceful manner.  Then a county-wide Community Gardens meeting.  Did stop by Hunters Haven on the way in Town.

Buckeye, if you move to the Straits of Magellan that is too close to me. Laugh

RT...... Now about that Suthern hospitality you were mentioning; could it be that the Chief never got the memoSmile, Wink & Grin  And furthermore I had my eye on a house in Roseyville that I thought would be great for trains.  Check out 115 Wellspring Farms Ln, Roseyville, NC. Cowboy  I assumed the Chief and I could run trains together.  I would bring my CSX trains over to the box from my Wellsprings Farm layout and spill oil all over the layout while his NS diesels catch fire and explode.  Mischief

You notice he likes to think of himself as Boss Hogs of Roseyville

Evening all!

An absolutely beautiful day here today. Continued work in the garage with the door open all afternoon. Sunny and blue skies, but clouded up late afternoon. Maybe some showers tomorrow.

Dennis - sorry about all the dog trouble and glad you are OK.

Had a nice dinner out with friends/neighbors this evening. Went to new Italian place, good food/ service and BYOB to boot!

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Good evening all,

A day that was full of bad possibilities ended as well as could be expected.  When the situation is resolved completely in a few months, all will be explained.  Weather finally took a turn for the better and looks to be good next week.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Evening All.

Thursday was cardiologist day, looks as though things are about the same. Echocardiogram scheduled for later this month, last one was about 34% ejection factor so if it has dropped closer to 30% he wants to make some changes to the existing treatmen plan.

On a much better note, friday at the museum was a great day. We all ran conventional with most of the consists being from the MPC era. No elctronic issues at all !

The Queen of the the fleet and she ran flawlessly.

Dennis, some of the comments are tame compared to what I would have considered. Unfortunately it's the animal that gets the worst part of the issue when the owner is the one responsible for it being the way it is in the first place.

Beautiful day today, spent the majority of it pulling weeds under the watchful eye of the BetterHalf. She was working on getting the living room ready for a baby shower but made sure that I took breaks on a regular basis and didn't overdo it.

Well, about time to say goodnite all.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 36 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Actually looks nice enough this week to get down and open up the yatchet.  But today, it's grocery shopping, laundry, and cleaning the cave.

Wifey and I did make it to Liverpool yesterday.  Didn't see Ringo, Paul or Laz.  Did tour the modular home factory, and met with our sales rep.  Amazing place.  There are 22 stations, and each structure is moved on a rail system, and each home is finished in 3 1/2 days.  Couldn't help but think that some of Laz's pupils are making a fine living there.

Since we were right up the river from Enola, did a little train watching.  NS was putting on a steady show, and the Wabash Heritage Unit was on the point of a coal train headed east.

Angel prayers for those in need.

Morning all.  Sunny and warm.  Never got below freezing last night.  Mid to high 60's all this week.  Why Buckeye wants to move here.  The house on Wellspring's is one of our low income homes.  Only $1.5 million.  Buckeye could do better.  Especially with all that money he makes going to work everyday.  Bet his monthly SS check would make the monthly payments.

Dennis,  I'm on the County's Appeals Committee on Animal Countrol.  We have a State law that says, once a dog is declared dangerous, has to be put in a chain linked heavy duty fence with top.  Also regulates the size of the fence.  Must be muzzled if removed to exercise or carry out side that fenced area.  The problem with owners skipping out of state, the ruling does not carry across the Stateline.

Off to the lake house for a week.  Cleaning and removing things not being sold.  Will post if I get back [I'm sure I will make several trips].

Have a great week ahead.

Safely home from a month in Naples Fla. First thing I looked for in the big stack of mail was my York badge.   LAZ, I found it and it is safely tucked into the hanging thingy ready for practice on 4/01. Still have way too much snow here but forcast of 40s and some sun might get rid of some soon.

Chief, that's a good law.  N.C. knows how to deal with bad dogs. Speaking of dogs, I heard another bad story yesterday from my son. He and his family were visiting his inlaws who have an apartment upstairs in an appartment building.  There is a community room on the first floor.  The manager who was having a party in there, allowed her dog to run around indoors and he left a deposit somewhere which my son stepped in then tracked it on his inlaws carpet.  They were incensed.  Complained to the landlord and she refused to get carpet cleaned and denied that it was her dog.  Her daughter said, yes it was mom and the mother told the child to shut up.  Shouldn't have to take legal action on such a simple thing but the landlord is asking for itAngry

Good evening all,

A nothing day.   Did a 4 mile walk/jog/run in 56 minutes at a pace that I think I can do for the Mini.   Worked on a project for one of the kids.   Mass was 1.5 hours today as we got a missionary who loved to talk.  Ugh.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Aloha. Welcome home SJ. Might reach 50 today! I boarded a train that was mysteriously in the depot when I walked up the stairs and ended up a half-hour early at work. Not sure that's good. It sure was dark this am. Dennis, hope your bad dog situation is finally resolved. We have to watch out for coyotes. They're pretty bold esp. in the evenings.

Morning all!

Getting more rain. Light but supposed to rain all day and into the evening. We did not get the moderate temps yesterday - rainy and 40's - but after to day the week is predicted for high 60's and 70 by Thurs/Fri! Sweet!

SJ - Welcome back! Glad you found that badge. Are you gonna have your wife help you practice by saying you are walking the wrong way?

Fifer - estate? Yatchet? What's next? Chief is cleaning out his estate...

MIke C - hope things continue to work out.

Have a great day all!

I have the radio on all day and sometimes into the night. There is commercial after comm. ercial for energy efficant windows. It must be a tremendiously lucretive buisness with a lot of competion.

Same thing here Dennis and also on TV adds all day. I tell them "no" when they call and that our house is new. Two weeks later they call again. Angry
