Aloha. I took a few days off last week - because that was our collective spring break - youngest, middle boy, bride and me. Now I'm back in the office on what looks like a beautiful day.

Roy, I add my condolences on the pending loss of your faithful four-legged companion. After our Rudy passed a year ago, I was bereft. Then I got another pal from a shelter last July :)

8n, the license plate on the car I most often use is TRDIS...

Bob, that trolley sounds great. I entered the hobby through N scale. I used to import Japanese models (Tomix) of Thomas the Tank engine from a hobby shop on the Ginza. They were magnificent models.

Sir James, happy belated anniversary to you and your Lady!

MikeC, that was a pretty good race. I enjoyed it whilst sorting all the extra 027 track and switches (I figured I have about 150 feet of just straight track!) Smile

Good morning all,

Frank 53, sorry you're having issues with the management.  I have no dog in this fight and find your stuff informative.

Got an E mail this morning saying my sister with cancer who lives in Virginia is back in the hospital.  She had been running a fever but now that is gone.  Keeping her off food for a couple of days and trying to isolate an infection in the digestive tract somewhere.  We are praying for her.

Think I have all my stuff ready now to see the tax preparer tomorrow.  Glad when that's over.

Ray

Kevin .... I was at a the train show last week looking at two dozen tables of S scale and read a couple of your recent emails about your bridge and Frank53's good suggestions. Then Idea.  Maybe you and I should try looking at S scale decals for the bridges.  Idea Do they even make S scale decals?

BTW, there is a little red truck in the background of your photo.  Is that an Auburn Rubber Toy Truck?

Buckeye,,, I have no clue what that truck is. Had it as far as I can tell, all my life. If you would like I can take some better pictures and post them and maybe some will know. It is missing one rubber tire but I thought it would look good there.

Well I have the rider ready for another year. Only cost me $98.00 and most of the day getting parts and running around.

Scored a Marx #99 Rock Island AB set for my uncle today for $42.00 + shipping. I will need to do some work on it because it will not run. No Fear.

Kevin.... on the underside of the rubber truck, normally you can see the word "Auburn".  Type into Ebay, Auburn Rubber Toys.  Auburn Rubber Toys are collectible, especially those in mint condition, which means the dog did not chew on it.  The Davey Crockett Rubber Horseshoe Set is listed at $169 today on Ebay. I had one of those horseshoe sets but my Mom threw it away with my Babe Ruth Baseball Cards. Whistling

Edit:  I can see the truck and yes it looks like a typical Auburn Rubber Toy.

Good evening all,

Very quiet day at work.  Good weather finally and I made a longer walk at noon.  Not back up to the full distance, but hopefully will do that later on.   Kevin, if the truck is an Auburn one, there should be some kind of molding on the underside of it indicating so.  I have an old Auburn race car and it has one of those marks.  Neat truck either way.   Will be watching Jane the Virgin tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Lets see if Bob monitors the Coffee Pot.

If my name appears anywhere, He's drawn to it like a moth to a flame. In the past, I've tried to ask him about it, but he tells me that my posts generate "dozens" of alerts from other posters complaining about my posts.

I tried posting about building a structure over the weekend, and it was deleted. I raised the question in this thread and that was deleted. Either the guy has a serious agenda to keep my posts about how to do stuff off this forum, or "dozens" of people here do.

I wrote a half dozen articles for CTT last year and when I posted about a building kit a friend of mine is offering, it took about twelve minutes to get it deleted under the guise of "it sounds like advertising." When I came back to that with "here are some pictures" without any other reference - instantly zapped.

If I make him that unhappy - he ought to just ban me already. It sounds like he would have "dozens" of supporters for that action.

Well, didnt catch mine or no comment.

Really warmed up.  Frankie got backup camera installed on my 97 Silverado.  Works great.

SurpriseEvenin' All.

Good day on friday, although there were some traction tire problems with the Challenger. Saturday was Kid's Club day so things were really hopping til late afternoon. That nite I was in bed and out like a light by 9:30. Sunday was an absolute "veg-out" day, looked in the mirror and immediately thought "the lights are on but ain't nobody home".

Took delivery of some new CAB1L's late last week. Their prdecessors, CAB1's, were held by velcro to the layout's fascia which works pretty well when it's new but eventually the velcro wears out resulting in floor bounces. Made a new holder today so we won't be going the velcro route again.

Cardiologist called today, wasn't happy with my echo gram last week. Will be in to see him on wednesday, kinda like waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Roy, Really hurts to have to say goodbye to a best friend.

SJ, Belated conga's on the anniversary, our 50th will be in Oct.

Speaking of vehicles, have you guys seen this one ?

Aloha. Grey and misty downtown today. Doesn't look like too exciting a day. Buckeye, I have a few of those type of old toys. I'll have to look underneath. Kev, I sure like that scene.

Chief misty and 34 here.

About an inch of snow here, more farther north.

The pavement was warm enough to just stay wet.

Auburn Rubber Toys...... Mrs. Buckeye loves Auburn Rubber Toys because Auburn is her home town.  Her church had a huge box full of them for the kids.  These $0.25 toys now can sell for $5.00.  They are classic American made toys.

Dougdagrump....... Can you tell the difference in performance between the Cab1 and the Cab1L?

Blueberry.... Will it snow on opening day in Cleveland?

Kevin.... Do you remember me posting about the problems I had with a Lionel NJ Central Alco?  First the plastic gears were not right and then the paint started to fall off.  I still buy Williams from the internet dealers because I have never had any problems with the product, but Lionel is purchased from LHS and test run before it goes out the door.

Mornin' All.

Off to see the Dr. shortly.

Buckeye, In my opinion the CAB1L is great, yes there are a few minor differences as far as operating but the performance of a TMCC engine thru a Legacey Base using a CAB1L is much better. The communication between the controller and the base seems to be much less problematic. I can't speak for the CAB1L Base issues since I haven't tried one, I have only used the CAB1L with the Legacey Base at the club's layout. Anybody that has a Legacey system might want to consider a couple of CAB1L's for those times when you have guest operators, regardless of age. I would say that they would have a much better chance of surviving a "drop check".

Gotta run, check back later.
