Good afternoon from Rogers Corners, Ohio.... Elevation 936 where it has been snowing most of the day.  Just did my second cleaning of the drive after the snow plow passed through.  (Hint to you poor snow freighted Sutherners, stand in your drive facing the street and then clean and pile the snow at the entrance of your drive on your right. Then when you pull out you can see who is going to hit you. Automobile Black Eye )

Yesterday I was looking for a Williams Monon SW-1 Switcher.  Found one at Western Depot in California.  I have found several good Williams pieces from Western Depot when the eastern stores were cleaned out. For example, I purchased a Williams FM Trainmaster New Jersey Central from the Western Depot when none of my regular stores in the East and Midwest had one.  It cost about the same except for shipping.  I really like the Gold and Black color scheme.  I'm going to use it to pull a string of U.S. Steel cars.

Williams by Bachmann Monon NW-2 21620 New with Bachmann Warranty!!

Star BTW,  Fife and 88, have you ever heard of a store named, "Star Hobbies" south of Baltimore towards Annapolis?

This week will find me on the west side at Cleveland at Westlake.  Last year I was caught in a blizzard on March 6th.

Buckeye I have the Williams by Bachmann Union Pacific NW-2 Switcher # DS1315 Part # BAC21612
I got it from Submmbob for a very good price. It is a strong puller and smooth runner.  Don’t think you could be disappointed with yours. I have had it pulling 12 RMT Ore cars without an issue. Enjoy it.  Yes

Good evening all,

A good day.  Wife had family and friends for my 60th birthday (Feb.28th) today.   Got an email from my Norwegian soccer friend.  Lots of snow kept a lot of people away, but it was a nice crowd.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Hello all

Another night on the mountain. We are open right now, but more weather is headed this way.

Got the director's AF 325 up and running. Just needs a headlamp bulb and I'm going to try a paint pen on some of the knicked areas as suggested by the Barker book.

Assembled the parts for the #60 trolley I got from Brasseur's. Runs well enough, but I have decided to bypass the reverse slide w/ an e-unit. Also finally found a body that should be interesting. When it is done it will be a collection of parts that would make Jeff Running Bear proud:)

Buckeye - I concur on the Williams NW-2. Nice loco, strong puller and good detail. I was impressed by the construction, too. Heavy metal chassis w/ metal gears and wheels. My only complaint was the scale size dwarfed all my O-27 stuff!:)

Kevin and Submmbob......It is nice to hear I didn't buy a dud.  I have a Williams FM Trainmaster that tonight pulled 20 cars up a 2% grade.  These old Williams are brutes.  Western Depot also was having a sale, so it made it that much sweeter.  BTW, try and find a Monon caboose in black and gold.  It took me the better part of a year to find mine in a shop in South Chicago.

Good evening,

The last few days of the week/month were busy so I was unable to post recently.  The snow started last night and continued most of today.  The kids and I enjoyed it and I wish there was more.  We should get some more on Tuesday and Wednesday.  I worked on the layout a bit today and hopefully I'll be able to post some photos tomorrow.

I hope everyone is well.

Good deal. We may get snow Wednesday!

Temps last couple weeks and into next week running 20-30 degrees below normal.

Gosh Buckeye - if we could save all the snow from the last 5 or 10 years we might be able to pile enough up to maybe make it difficult to see an approaching car - maybe.

However most of our area have alley entrances to garage at rear of house. Everyone builds an 8 Foot privacy fence so one cannot see an approaching car as one backs out. Of course everyone absolutely obeys the 5 mph alley speed limit so there are never any alley accidents. Wink  Automobile

Happy Monday - not

Bad news during the weekend - my daughter's cat - Christopher - is dealing with failing kidneys.  It happend way too fast.  I called him Cat.....he was very upset at me when I left 4+ years ago, he was a rescue.  Been to the vet twice now throughout the weekend, today may be the last.  I'll get the vet to call me at noon today.....the whole family, including my ex, is heartbroken....even his buddy Smurf (our other cat) knew he very sick...licked him on the forehead as a goodbye.  Black cats are just too cool and too loving.

Went to the Greenburgs show in Edison, missed HudsonJohn, purchased a '71 GTX for the layout.  Had to drive home in the ice and snow...fun!!

30F with ice right now, made it to work.

Sunny and 10 going to 29 then rain tomorrow and back below 0 on Wed. Bang Head

So sad on the cat Rich,, sorry. I would be all alone if something happened to our George.

Buckeye I also have the Burlington Northern SD 90 Locomotive # 9587 by Williams. I would think it is a lot like the Trainmaster. It is a tugboat. If there is something on the down side it would be the TrueBlast sound system. Not any choices.

Have a good day !!!

Aloha. Sunny and 15 - but supposed to go up to 28 and even higher though with sleet and freezing rain tomorrow - then temps crash again. Ah well. It made it easy to stay in and watch Six Nations Rugby and the Atlanta race on the telly. I ran Ivor quite a lot too. Sorry to hear about Cat, Rich.

Same here.  The problem is, you had better pile it to the right or DOT will plow it right back in your drive.  Since it is wet snow and also has some salt or brine in it, it is usually big hard chunks.  The other day, could not walk into the highway as fast passing traffic and the "gutter" was deep with water from melting snow.  That was under the big pile of snow chunks in your drive.  Either go get high topped boots or stand in sidewalk and reach with shovel handle.  The water from melted snow was actually moving under the snow like an under ground river.

Warmer and sunny.  Really warming fast.

Crew here remodeling.  Yes, Wifey is having something remodeled all the time.

Meetings at 11 untill sometime tonight.

Have a good one.

Uhhhh Chief?

Plowed snow, driveway blocked?

Southerners don't have snowplows unless one from up north makes a wrong turn.

Good evening,

It was a bit warmer today; I believe the high was in the upper-20s.  It was round 20 when I went for a quick two-mile run this morning.  The workday was a typical Monday for me and nothing exciting happened.  After dinner, the boys and I took a quick trip to Radio Shack to purchase a Samsung tablet charger for the older two kids' tablets, but they weren't opened.  I know they were going under and planned to close many stores, so it looks like two of our area stores are now closed.  I need to research whether any of ours will stay open.

Happy Birthday Mike C.!

Good night,

Joe

Good evening all,

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.   Today was busy at work.  Was feeling the effects from Saturday's practice walk today.   Staying home tomorrow to avoid the freezing rain.  Not worth the risk.  I hope everone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Now it is my turn to laugh.  Only made it to 61 degrees today.  In low 40's now.  That may be the high for today [since its after midnight].  Guess what???  More rain coming during the daylight.

Good morning.

Hope you had a good B-day Mike.

Looks like all of the bad stuff slid just north of us and got Doug.  Surprise  Just a tad of ice on the side walk. Oh well. We will still have fun then since Lexi spent the night. Everyone is sleeping and Lexi only woke up once.

Time to make some coffee and get moving.

Train news:  I worked on the girder bridge yesterday and it is shaping up nice. I will post some pictures when I get the chance. I just used what was there already to mount the girder support to. The girder is under the track and will work okay like that. The track is not in the dead center of the support but I don't care because if I ever get around to my pocket scene under it it will be replaced so it is a lot better than it was and will work for now.

Aloha. As Kev mentioned, just a few inches of snow and sleet but right at rush hour made this morning's commute very nasty. At least it is suppose to warm up into rain. I am too jealous of the training camp weather to watch those games.

Morning.  Cloudy and low 40's.  Going into the 70's tomorrow.  Then followed by wintery mix but the REB fires will keep it from freezing on the ground.

Not much today.  Got Chamber dinner tonight.  Something everyday it seems.  Got to go to lake house and clean.  Then haul everything home that I'm keeping.  Have to have done by 15th.  Short time.  Wifey not cooperating but wants it sold. ????

Hope all have a good one.
