Good Afternoon! The latest Good News here is that My Wife's Ice Cream Shop took FIRST PLACE at the NJ State Ice Cream Festival yesterday. That is the second year in a row. And of course we will have our "Ice c Cream Tailgate Social" at York in April. My son, Doray and I appreciate the congrats on his job. Joe D: Hope the trip back went smooth. Sounds like a nice vacation in Hawaii. Don: It must feel great driving again. Chief: Glad the Home Depot fiasco is over. Kev: Too bad the tractor show was a bust. Glad the 6026W worked out well. I like that tender also. Fife: We feel the same way about Joe's Crab Shack. SPMan, Ray: That is a good thing your son is doing. Spending time with her is a good help and your wife probably looks forward to it. Enjoy the Day! John

Good evening all,

Situation somewhat better.  After being taken out in the first race, Sato salvaged the weekend for AJ with a nice 5th place finish in the second in Toronto.  Moved back into the top 20 in points, and salvaged some dignity for the Foyt team.  Ran the HO layout some more and cleaned up some financial issues.   Going to be a lot of soccer this week.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Aloha. A quiet weekend, took the youngest to the beach Sat and Sun. Caught up on some reading. Too bad about the tractor event, Kev. Glad you got your washer and dryer, Chief. And congratulations to Doray's ice cream for the big win. Thumbs UpBow

WOW Must of scared everyone off Chief, Frank ?  Surprise

Not a big deal Doug. Found out it was only the second year for it. There is a 40 mile run where they drive over 100 tractors through a bunch of towns over two days coming up soon. So I will check that out. Last year they went down the road out front.

Another day spent fighting my slow computer.

Got a call from sister in Virginia with terminal cancer.   We had a long talk that was good for both of us.

#2 son and grandson off to Angels baseball game tonight.

Terrible news on the TV lately  about the Mylasia airliner shot down by a Russian built missile in the Ukraine.  Of course Putin denies everything.  He probably figures they shot themselves down.  It's time for him to stand up like a man and take some responsibility.SoapBox

Just laying low today.  Trying to stay out of trouble.

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Spent 2 hours in a meeting that was a total waste of time.  Oh, well.   Got to scrimmage with "my" soccer girls tonight.   That was fun.   I played well for once with many good touches.  Get to watch them scrimmage tomorrow.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Tuesday Morning All!

Wow, summer is almost half over soon. Been real busy at work. 6 days a week doesn't seem to leave enough time for socializing. But lately there has been either a BBQ or a birthday on the weekends.

Today I took a day off and we are heading to Cape May, a bit closer to Fife's kingdom, for the day to visit my daughter and her boyfriend who are there for the week. Should be nice weather with a high of 81.

Hope all have a good day!

Later...................

Aloha. Expected to be just the fourth in 90s+ days here this summer. We've been lucky not to have to run the a/c so much though I missed it on my commute home last night where it didn't work and the train car was jammed full of people. Through my scientific observation, I conclude people get madder quicker when they are too hot rather than too cold. Too bad we couldn't open the windows but an hour and a half later, it felt cooler stepping off into the 90+ temps outside the train. Ah well. Being a connoisseur of Murphy's Law, I know it can always be worse.

MikeC, I didn't know that Planes movie is in the theaters. The youngest loves the original movie and we thought it was straight-to-video.

Hmmm, looks like the Chief's bad appliance luck is catching. I think our dryer is dying. But there's some things to check first. I sincerely don't want one of the modern electronic ones...

Morning all.  Cloudy and chance to T'storms this afternoon.  Moved the trip to the farms to tomorrow.  Chance of rain less.  More later this week.  Nice but send some to CA.

Traindaddy, hope the back gets better.  Back ache and tooth ache are not fun.

Widow lady that owns "Parker's Pond" and I had a long conversation yesterday.  Taking back over the pond.  "Treat it like it is yours."  I never took it away.  My son does not own it and had no right to tell you to leave.  Got another project.  Getting it back in order.

Errands today.

Have a good one.

fifedog

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy & 70 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Nothing goin' on today.  Daywork tomorrow.  Fifepup loving his new job.  Worked night party, then slept on-board for today shift.  He's becoming a regular little Pirate.  We went to Joe's Crab Shack, and I give it a No.  Food was average, place decorated like the Krusty Krab, and the Bill for 3 came to $108.  I almost gave them back dinner....   Wifey and I salvaged the evening with Drinks on the yatchet.

Hmmm... you live in MD and you go to a national chain seafood place for seafood? I am not a big fan of Joe's, Red Lobster, or any of the other national chains. Their food isn't fresh and it certainly doesn't have great flavor. Personally I like finding local places because the food tends to be fresh and more flavorful.

Glad Fifepup is enjoying his 'gig'... I take it he is working for the Rusty ship?

Let me make a general comment about the coffee pot thread (all of our forums have something similar).

If the the mere presence of this thread on the internet bugs the pants off you and you derive great pleasure from starting fights, do yourself (and me) a favor. Don't stop by to stir things up.

There are many other spots on the web for you to share your general dissatisfaction with life and the hobby. This isn't one of them.

Evenin' Fellow Train-nerds,

Had a good run last Friday and came home pretty pooped. However Grampa had to suck it-up, the munchkin wanted to spend the nite with Grandma & Grampa. Mom & Dad approved but he was a bit bummed out when he heard that Dad was fixing Salmon Steaks for dinner. An 8yr old who loves Salmon, who'd have thought ! They promised to save him some.

John, Major congas to Doray for the Ice Cream Championship !  BowBow Wish I could make it to York to enjoy some of that yummy stuff. I'll just have to settle for Blue Bunny. Sigh

Made some bad food choices over the weekend, the scales kinda groaned the past couple days. Rabbit food on the menu. Ashamed

Ray, Prayers for you and your family.

A little warm & sticky, tired of the humidity.

Later All !

Doug DG ,with you on the tired of the humidity and we have been good this year.

John, It is only antique tractors and takes two days. I will see if I can find the web site.

Must of been a bad at the office today for Bob, the Overlord. I sure did not see anything strange or rude going on to drive that post, must be some complaining going on again. What Frank said don't bother me, I know he is just poaking fun.  Hmm Starting to understand why people are not posting. Confused No fun allowed, what the heck?

Well have a good one.

I did stay in the basement most of the day.  Got some work done before the grand-kids show up on Thursday.

I will be checking in next week if I find the time.  Smile

Good evening all,

Quiet day at work.  Good.  Went to see "my" soccer girls scrimmage tonight.  It was not pretty as they lost 10-0.   Hope that is not a portent of the season ahead.   Some sad news today.  Learned Train Express will be closing soon.   Was probably my biggest source of O and Std. gauge material over the years.   I think the manager was just wanting to retire.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Early good morning all.  A little foggy out.  Finish loading up for trips to the farms.  Build some more barrel feeders and check out food plots.  Check cameras.  Hope we don't have damage from the bear.

Have a good one.

Good Morning! 82 going into the 90's. A local Minor League Ballgame on the agenda for today. Antique truck club meeting / BBQ went well last night. Went over the plans for the show in September with the tractor club and the Caterpillar club. It gets bigger every year. Doug DG: Thanks for the congrats. They work hard at it. Hope to see you at York one year. Let me know your favorite flavor. Mike: Sorry to hear about your favorite shop closing. Chief: Enjoy the trip to the farms. Kev: Just have fun! Thoughts and Prayers for those in need. John

Morning all not a lot going on. Need to go get all 3 hairs cut today. Then need to get some plywood/partical board and have them cut them in half long ways so it fits thru opening to attic so I have something to stand/kneel/sit on while replacing the outlet box for the ceiling fan.

Waiting for mail man to get a small package out to a buyer. so need to get going
