Good afternoon all,

Hudson John, congratulations to your son.  Best wishes to him and you too.

Cooler weather this week and welcome relief.  Slept until almost 9:00 O'Clock this morning because it was overcast and dark.  Sun usually wakes me up between 6 and 7.

Just spun my wheels some more today and did not accomplish a whole lot.  Did make an important phone call to Helen's sister in N.H. to give up date on wife's condition.  I offered her some of my frequent flyer miles to come and visit Helen but she said her health is not too good and she does'nt travel any longer.  It was a big disappointment to me.  That's the price we pay for living so far from our relatives.

Took my old 87 Buick fliver out for excercise today after it had been sitting for several days.  Still runs good but no air.  Went to produce market and picked up some fresh fruit for about half what the super market charges.  Fruit here is about $2 a pound in the super markets.  Tomatoes with any kind of taste are about $3.  Roma's are 99 cents but they are like cardboard.

Heard some terrible news last night about a guy I knew when I worked on the railroad.  His wife tried to commit suicide and now she is in a psychiatric hospital.  Makes our problems seem smaller in comparison.

Have'nt been in the train room for about a week now.  My heart is just not in it.  Might tomorrow if the cool mornings hold on.

Cooked chicken last night but might buy take out tonight.

later,

Ray

FAINT!!  Got call from Home Depot Atlanta.  Guy was not aware of the whole drama.  He was following up due to email from local store saying all taken care of.  Was not happy.  He is doing more.  We will see.

Nope - means it was priced right for the area. Had I asked more it would have been sitting for 2+ weeks.

I know Brent was just kidding only you can determine what you need to rent for and also better rented than just sitting.

RT - I know... it isn't rented for what I NEED it to rent for, but renting it for the cost of selling it (ultimate goal) isn't realistic at this point! Big Smile Still have a few projects to complete on it, but it was in rentable condition and the new tenants are very happy with the current condition, and plans for the rest.

Aloha, Good morning Chuck. This past Monday we departed Japan en route to Ohio and we decided to stop in Hawaii for a brief vacation. I went from being in the future (13 hours ahead of EST) to being in the past (6 hours behind EST) in the matter of hours. Here in Hawaii we stayed in a cabin on Bellows Air Force Station which is located on Windward Side of Oahu. Our cabin is only 50 yards from the shore and it is magnificent. I watched an amazing sunrise this morning. We leave Hawaii today and will arrive to Ohio around noon on Saturday. I'll catch up more later. Joe

Good Morning

Well let me start off with fair warning to all of you.  Best make sure all women and children are off the streets.  Cause I am driving again!  Didn't take as big of an argument as I thought it would.  I just told Kay, I'm going to start driving today, then she started to object, and I said before you start unless you have some specific reasons as to why I can't or specific task before I do.  Then there is nothing to be said.  And wahlah, it is now a done deal.  Drove the El Camino yesterday, and the van today!

JOE, glad your on your way home.  Fantastic about stopping in Hawaii for a couple of days.

John, Congrats on your son's selection for the PD, you've got to be proud!

Ray, continued prayers for you and Helen, just don't give up.

Really sad about the airliner, somebody had to realize what they were doing.  I just hope the truth will come out, and not just a bunch of finger pointing.

Take care and STAY Healthy.

Don

Home from way down south in the "sandhills" area of NC.  Left at 6:30 AM.  Went with close friend Jeanie [Hunters Haven owner] to pick up her son and a friend's son from Millstone Wildlife Camp.

Got a return call from Home Depot [remember he said Monday].  Wants to send us a "bribe" [$$$] and sign a "hold harmless" letter.  Wow!

Going to rest up now.

D. Baker, congratulations on getting back to driving! Yes

Fife, thanks for the thought about sailing down Chesapeake Bay.  I would love to do that on your boat if I could.  My brother is a fisherman living in Suffolk, Virginia.  He has taken me out many times over the years fishing near the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel.  Awsome project!  I crossed there years ago on the old Cape Charles Ferry before they built the bridge.

Hey, that is really great news!!  Now lets see how long it takes before you break it..

-- Don't use the washer for cleaning your tools.

-- The washer is not to be used as a blender, its too big anyway

-- Remember the washer is the one with the door opening on top, the dryer has the door opening in the front.  Dont mix them up.

.-- Don't use the dryer to dry off  the dogs after it rains.

Ahhh Heck, just leave those two machines alone, Let Pam operate them they will last longer.  If you need stuff done get one of those big round tubs (galvanized) and a wash board and set up in the backyard.  Then a rope and tie it between a couple of trees.  Folks around there are use to people running around outside in their underwear, so you should be ok.

If you need any advice just let me know.

Only if before your third drink for the evening. Whistling

All delivered and operating OK. [so far]  I was actually nice and took "loaner" dryer back to the local Home Depot in my pickup. Angel  They did not have to come and pick it up.  Contractor hauled away the old new units.

Hi there,

Antique tractor show I went to today was a bust there were only 11 tractors there when I left and they wanted $10.00 to go on the ride and I did not have anything to use. Could have taken the Gator but by the time I would of got home and loaded it up and went back it would of been too late. The ride started at 1:00. So I decided to stay home and I re-wired the 6026W tender I won on the Bay, serviced the motor and installed the NOS shell I had. :tada: So some train time has been had. :bounce1: :) And I have a fine looking tender now to pull with the 736 Berkshire. I will put the 671W tender away. Maybe someday I can find a 1947 Variation C 671 to go with it.

Good evening all,

Relaxed today.  Set up HO layout on back porch.  Good to run trains again.  Watched Indy 11 lose another heartbreaker, but at least they got game in.  Indycar messed around with first Toronto race today and will run it at 10:30 AM tomorrow.   Great thinking....not.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' boys.  Cloudy & 70 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Nothing goin' on today.  Daywork tomorrow.  Fifepup loving his new job.  Worked night party, then slept on-board for today shift.  He's becoming a regular little Pirate.  We went to Joe's Crab Shack, and I give it a No.  Food was average, place decorated like the Krusty Krab, and the Bill for 3 came to $108.  I almost gave them back dinner....   Wifey and I salvaged the evening with Drinks on the yatchet.

Morning Afternoon all. not much going on here today I've been making some improvements to my layout lately adding some Ross switches. Put a siding in between the 2 two loops I now have. also from the inside loop I added 3 switches which will give me 3 spares going off of it once done. I recently added a small 2nd level its only 4' x 6'5" so now have to build like mountain terrain going up to it. it is coming along but wonder sometimes why I'm doing it. I do want to move i the next 6 years. So I'm trying not to get to complicated, just can't move at this time I need about 6 years to get some bills paid down.

Well today is going to be a day of rest I think Hope all have a good day.

Good morning all,

Chief, glad the washer/dryer situation is under control.

Fifedog, sorry you had a bad dinner at the Crab Shack.  I don't think we have one of those out here.  Must be an up scale place judging from the prices.  I just eat at family places mostly just to save cooking but we don't go to the pricey places too often.   I don't mind paying more if the food has value but it better be good.

We were out last night and I had prime rib on a two for one deal.  It was great.

Oldest son went to dinner with us last night and came home with us after.  We played Bingo for a while then watched a little TV.  He and his family are coming over again tonight to spend some more time with his mother.  Hope they don't expect dinner.  If so they better bring it with them.

Had long phone conversation with SIL in New Hampshire yesterday and gave them an  update on Helen.  Good call.

later,

Ray
